May is always a wonderful month, as it marks the opening of the Golf season at Teton Pines! The days are getting longer, the air is getting warmer, the course is turning green, and Members start to return to Wilson. As we approach summer, the staff have designed a calendar full of opportunities across all facets of the Club to include social, dining, recreational activities, and of course golf.
This winter, the Executive Committee, the Construction Task Group, and Management have been focused on moving the Clubhouse Upgrade and Expansion forward. We have been working with our architectural firm, Prospect Studio, to complete the plans and obtain the necessary permits to commence construction on Phase I, the Wellness Center, which will be located adjacent to the pool amenities. This is a big project for the Club, as it will provide a highly desired amenity for our Members and keep Teton Pines relevant for the next generation.
Although the permitting process can be arduous, we feel confident that we will be able to break ground on Phase I, (“the Wellness Center”) in the Fall of 2024. Shaw Construction, our construction manager, has been working with our committee to ensure that the phase includes all the necessary amenities, while staying in line with our budget. We expect this phase to be completed no later than the end of 2025. The Wellness Center will include a 2200 sq. ft. fitness/exercise center, a 1000 sq. ft. yoga/aerobic studio, men’s and ladies’ change rooms, a full kitchen and outdoor bar, and the Club’s laundry facilities. Once Phase I is complete, we intend to commence Phase II, the expansion and upgrade of the main Clubhouse. Phase II is expected to take approximately two years and will require the closure of the Clubhouse with temporary operations throughout campus to continue to provide all Club amenities but in a modified fashion. I would like to thank all of you who attended our town hall meeting to review the objective, schedules, and detailed plans and provided important feedback to verify that we are on the right track.
As we will fund the construction through initiation fees, maintaining the steady interest of new members interested in joining the Club is a critical component of funding. Therefore, management has been tasked with the responsibility of maintaining an active list of programs and activities to engage members and keep them active. The Membership Committee is focused on cultivating candidates who appreciate the special culture within Teton Pines and share the values of our membership. As our current Members are our greatest resource for identifying those candidates for membership, I encourage each of you to reach out to your circle of friends to let them know about all the great things happening at the Club. This is also important as we require all prospective Members to be referred by existing Members to help ensure a high level of synergy. As always, our Assistant General Manager/Membership Director, Amy Bickley, is a great resource and is happy to assist in any way or answer any questions you or prospective Members may have.
We look forward to keeping you informed of all that is happening at the Club through the weekly Club updates and these Whispers newsletters. Additionally, a dedicated page on the Member’s website will include the plans and progress reports once the project gets underway. Special thanks go out to the Executive Committee, the Master Planning Committee, the Construction Task Group, and the entire management team for leading us through this important and exciting time at Teton Pines. As we move forward, if you have any questions or comments related to the renovation plans as they unfold, please share these thoughts with us via email at masterplan@ tetonpines.com.
Thank you for your tremendous support as we help lay the foundation for a bright future.
2023 was a great year at the Club and we’ve continued to see increases in Member visits and event participation thus far in 2024. We intend to leverage this momentum with increased social and recreational programming within Golf, Racquet Sports, Aaquatics, Social, and Dining to offer Members more opportunities to engage at the Club and meet other Members. We have seen growth in participation with mahjong and bridge, while the cocktail parties, wine tastings, and trivia night continue to gain strong support. We also want to add more ad hoc classes such as knitting, fly tying, beginners bridge, paint-and-sips, and activities like horseback riding and a Snake River scenic float.
As we lead into May, Mother’s Day Brunch is looking to be a full house, we are excited to offer our Spring Into Summer tennis camp, the golf Ice Breaker tournament, and the season opening of the swimming pool will be on Memorial Day weekend, which will be followed by our Memorial Day golf mixed scramble and a Memorial Day BBQ. For June, we will commence an “all-new” kid’s summer camp, a more active learn-to-swim program, a children’s School’s Out pool party, and our Racquet Sports Summer Solstice Jamboree. Weekly, we will offer our expanded Monday couples golf, and our Tuesday weekly cocktail parties followed by a delicious dinner buffet, in addition to monthly trivia nights and “Lunch and Learn” sessions. As a special collaboration with the Grand Teton Music Festival, we will host a quartet on June 25th during the weekly cocktail party. Teton Pines is proud to sponsor the “A Tour of England” performance on July 19th & 20th at Walk Festival Hall. We hope you will make plans for dinner at the Club followed by an evening of music in Teton Village. Check out this issue of the Whispers and the Club’s website for more details on these events and other one-off activities such as a kid’s movie night and family bingo.
With an eye toward continual improvement, the Club will be sending out short post event surveys to booking Members for Club special events. The ten question survey is designed to take just a few minutes to complete and is aimed at establishing benchmarks on service and the quality of the experience. Your scores and comments are extremely helpful for us to understand if you enjoyed the event and what we can focus on to make future offerings more appealing, or to simply keep up the good work. We sincerely hope that you will take a moment of your time to provide us with your important feedback and thoughts.
The Master Planning Committee, led by Bill Carpenter, is making tremendous strides in formulating a comprehensive club upgrade to introduce a new “Wellness Center” featuring a modern fitness center with weights, cardio, functional training, a yoga/fitness studio, and a pool bar with a full kitchen that will lead into the upgrade and expansion of the main Clubhouse and the renovation of the existing racquet sports building. Overall, the updated Clubhouse will offer an improved pro shop with two dedicated simulators, separate upscale and casual dining concepts along with an expanded lounge, a kid’s zone, and a separate multipurpose card room; all with improved overall ambiance both inside and out consistent with a contemporary mountain west feel.
As a preamble to the master plan, we have just started the renovation of the golf course restrooms. We are overhauling the entire building and incorporating that mountain west feel to the building’s exterior, as well as introducing a food kiosk offering refreshments and complimentary snacks to golfers. Both Prospect Studio and Shaw are involved with this minor renovation to ensure it aligns with the Club’s overall master plan. Work is expected to be completed in mid to early June.
In closing, we want to thank everyone for their strong support and the many members who have referred friends and associates to be a part of the Club. We remain committed to creating an outstanding club experience, of exceptional value, to bring members together as part of our Teton Pines family.
We look forward to seeing you at the Club.
Amy Bickley | Director of Membership & Assitant General Manager
Wow, what a fabulous start to the year in terms of membership at the Club! As of mid-April we have officially welcomed 22 new members to the Club, 10 since January (see listing and collage)! Thank you to everyone that has introduced their friends and family to Teton Pines so that they too can enjoy the great amenities and the active and friendly membership community you have created at the Club!
Remember that you may review all of our New Members, as well as Membership Candidates, on the Member’s side of the Teton Pines website under the MY CLUB – MEMBERSHIP INFO tab. Your referrals and sponsorships allow the Club to become more cohesive and connected by increasing the likelihood that incoming Members are familiar with the unique personality that makes Teton Pines great and they are aligned the values upon which the Club is based. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions regarding membership or if you’d like to refer a friend.
We’d also like to let members know we’ve added three additional pages to the website to help you easily find some fun (TPCC in the Community) and often requested information (Billing & Guest Information).
• TPCC in the Community - Highlights the amazing generosity of our membership through the Club’s primary charitable initiatives including the Teton Pines Scholarship Fund, St. John’s Oncology Golf Tournament, Coombs Outdoors annual holiday Giving Tree, and as a Grand Teton Music Festival Sponsor. Additionally, the Club donates many rounds of golf to local non-profits to assist in their fundraising efforts.
• Billing Information – Outlines the monthly dues rates as well as links for commonly requested items such as an ACH form and contact information for our Controller, Tom Schneider, for any billing inquiries or follow up. Additionally, ancillary charges such as locker fees, cart fees, and locker fees are found here.
• Guest Information – Includes a summary of guest policies by department as well as corresponding guest fees. Additionally, The Family Limited Membership application and description of the program will be found on this page, as well as the request to add a child or grandchild to your Membership. Finally, a separate dress code document (pulled from the member handbook) is under construction and will be an easy reference as to appropriate attire at the Club.

One of our favorite spring activities is hosting our annual Mother’s Day Brunch event, a fitting welcome to summer, and a great season opener. Please join us on Sunday, May 12th for our wonderful brunch, which will feature Mother’s Day crafting for the little ones, hosted by the Activities team. The very next day we will resume full lunch service with the return of our expanded lunch menu, served Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 2pm; Saturday lunch will begin June 22nd. Our new dinner menu will follow suit on Wednesday, May 15th with dining hours from 5:30pm to 9pm, Wednesday through Saturday. We’ll finish the month’s events on Monday, May 27th with our Memorial Day Golf Scramble, followed by our BBQ from 4pm to 6pm, pray for sun!
As we move into June, things will heat up starting on Wednesday the 5th, with the return of our 19th Hole Happy Hour menu at Clarke’s from 3pm to 5pm, alongside live music on Wednesdays with Tasha & Rob. Weather permitting, we hope to get the Dining Deck open for al fresco service starting the 2nd week of June, just in time for Father’s Day Brunch on Sunday, June 16th. We look forward to welcoming Members on Tuesday, June 11th for an exclusive wine tasting event that will feature a selection of wines from Knudsen Vineyards. Our first cocktail party of the season will kick things off on Tuesday, June 18th, featuring Chef Laura’s themed weekly buffets. And Saturday June 22nd we will have our first Saturday lunch and Lobster night of the summer, alongside Pam Phillips, who will begin live music on select Saturday’s throughout the season.
Lastly, we will launch summer into full swing with our July 3rd BBQ, one of the year’s most popular events. This annual celebration features a Pines buffet, live music from Tasha & the Goodfellows, a bounce house and all sorts of family fun. Be sure to register starting at 9am MST on Firday, May 3rd!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns as we enter summer at the Club, we look forward to seeing you soon!
The 2024 golf season at Teton Pines has begun, and this season will be both memorable and special, especially for myself.
Once again, I am very proud of our returning Golf staff. From our Professionals, to our Starters, to our Cart Attendants, we have maintained the majority of our employees from last season. This means familiar and welcoming faces as our members return for another season.
Just as last summer, we have a full calendar of fun and competitive golfing events for all players. Our Monday Mixer, which is a mixed scramble nine and dine event played every Monday, leads the way as our most popular weekly event. This year we are adding a new Monday Mixer Member/Guest on July 15th which will surely be a highlight of the summer. Watch for more coming soon about registration for this special event.
The Men’s and Ladies’ weekly playdays will also continue this season, with the men playing on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and the ladies playing Thursday. The 2024 Golf Calendar proudly maintains our major Golf events such as Men’s and Ladies’ Member/Guest tournaments, Club Championships, and other marquee events.
I encourage all our Members to come out to the golf course and try something new this summer. Take a lesson, play golf on our new indoor Golf Simulator, participate in one of our fun weekly events, or sign up and play in our major championships. Golf continues to be a great outdoor activity for all ages across the county and the popularity of this life-long hobby is strong.
Lastly, I’ve been playing golf for over 50 years, and except for a few special rounds, I can’t remember that many scores that I shot in the past. However, I will always remember so many of the great relationships I have built, the special places I’ve been, and friends for life that I have made because of golf.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all and will always be available for help as you need it. Be sure to follow our weekly “From the Fairways” newsletter each Tuesday for the latest offerings and updates throughot the season.
Get out and play!

Another wonderful winter season of pickleball and tennis has come to a close and we are thrilled to usher in this next phase of Teton Pines Racquet Sports. As both pickleball and tennis participation continue to grow here at the Club, we are excited to announce structural changes to some of our drills and playdays, designed to offer more variety and options for our different player skill levels. This change will also help get more Members on the courts with players that match their own skill level, multiple times per week.
Always a popular offering for both pickleball and tennis players alike, our camps at Teton Pines will return this May with our Spring Into Summer Tennis Camp from the 17th until the 20th. Come July, we will host our Summer Pickleball Camp from the 22nd to the 24th. It’s such a treat to have these experiences with our resident Pros, as well as visiting Pros right here at home! If you are looking to jump into the pickleball craze, but aren’t sure where to start, we are thrilled to offer 4 week beginner sessions starting in June that will go throughout the summer. These sessions will introduce you to the sport and give you the confidence you need to get out on the court and join us for our weekly pickleball offerings.
And, as always, please call or email us to book private lessons with our delightful and knowledgeable staff of Pros, eager to take your game to the next level.
I look forward to another beautiful summer at Teton Pines! See you on the courts!
Delivering increased value to the TPCC Racquet Sports program.
Beginning June 1st, 2024, the Teton Pines Racquet Sports program will see changes in regards to lesson reservations, the recurring lesson cancelation policy, non-lesson court reservations, tennis drill structure and pickleball playday structure. As the Racquet Sports programs and participation continue to grow, it is imperative that our processes adapt to this growth and popularity to allow all members equal access to courts, lessons, drills and playdays.
As a reminder, as of April 1st, 2024, recurring non-lesson court reservations have been eliminated to ensure all Members have an equal opportunity to reserve pickleball and tennis courts. I’m so looking forward to welcoming back the sunshine, wildflowers and long days! The pool is opening Memorial Day Weekend and the season will truly kick off strong with the School’s Out Pool Party on Wednesday, June 12th. Our summer fitness schedule will also be active starting in June. I’m thrilled to have more Members teaching our complimentary fitness classes this summer, they are: Karen Kolondy with Water Aerobics, Donna Buie Early and Lori Roux with dynamic group fitness classes and of course, Wendy Hobart will be continuing her Restorative Yoga class through the summer. You can also expect to see more fitness classes offered outside as the weather allows.
To me, spring signals the beginning of fishing season in the valley and we have a handful of fishy events on the horizon. WorldCast Anglers will be leading the May Lunch & Learn and will join us again at the end of June for a casting clinic. JD High Country will be at the Clubhouse to do a Fly Tying Workshop where you can plan to walk away from the event with your own handmade fly.
If you prefer to be golfing or running in the summer, I invite you to join me for a workshop with Dr. Cossette Burnham, who will be leading a Golf Mobility workshop on Tuesday, June 25th and a Trail Running workshop in July. For a health and wellness event geared specifically towards women, Dr. Kim Michelleti will be joining in July for a Breathwork Clinic, where she will share exercises that can increase your quality of life. And if you’d rather tap into your creative side, Michele Walters will be joining us in July for an outdoor plein air painting experience.
Upcoming events outside of the Club include an educational experience at the Teton Raptor Center, volunteering with Hole Food Rescue and a trip to the Astoria Hot Springs with Pines Member and Astoria Board Member, Lauren Grossman. We have classic favorites on the calendar for the first week of July including a horseback ride with incredible views and a scenic Snake River float through the Tetons. Later in the month members will get a chance to have a private workshop with Wilson Backcountry Sports on bike maintenance. To round out July, we’ve partnered with Jackson Hole Land Trust to have a one of a kind experience at Rockin’ H Ranch to learn what the Land Trust is all about.
Please watch for additional events to be added to the calendar through the summer and please be invited to reach out to me at liza@tetonpines.com if you would like to lead an event for fellow members or if you have any questions or suggestions for the season ahead.
See you at the Club
