— FROM THE DESK OF OUR CLUB PRESIDENT — Dear Members, I want to thank the membership for their strong support and patronage to make 2023 a successful year for the Club. This performance is an important point to help support and reconfirm the need for the upcoming expansion and upgrade of our aging facility. We are finally at a point where we can provide a meaningful update on the Club’s Master Plan related to the Clubhouse Upgrade and Expansion plans.

As noted previously, the Executive Committee changed the architect for the project from 45 Architects out of Bozeman, MT to Prospect Studio, led by resident and member, John Carney.

In addition, Shaw Construction has been selected as our Construction Manager. We have been working with both Prospect Studio and Shaw Construction for around six months now and we are dramatically more confident in the process and results given their intimate knowledge and familiarity with the local Jackson Hole market.

Prospect Studio has done an incredible job introducing a Wellness/Pool Pavilion and redesigning the Clubhouse to address all the deferred structural issues and provide all the country club components we need while being as prudent as possible. The redesigned Clubhouse rectifies the deteriorated tunnel, other structural issues within the Club, compliance with the current building code (primarily insulation standards and roofing materials) and addresses the nearly 40-year-old infrastructure of the building (primarily the physical plant) that has reached the end of its expected useful life.

In addition to addressing the necessary improvements required within our nearly 40-year-old building, Prospect has also been able to take a prudent approach toward providing the necessary amenities to bring the Club to a standard that the membership expects:

A state-of-the-art 2200 sq. ft. fitness facility with a stretching area, a 900 sq. ft. yoga studio, and a physical therapy room, An impressive sense of arrival when arriving at the Club or entering the Clubhouse, A dedicated, expanded Pro Shop with two adjoining simulators, An expanded kitchen that will allow both casual and upscale dining concepts and uninterrupted casual dining when the Club is offering club events and accommodating private member events, Elevator access in both the main clubhouse and wellness/pool pavilion and disabled access to all member spaces throughout the Club, and New amenities to better serve the membership, including Nordic ski storage, Alpine ski storage, a members’ game room, a children’s activity room, and an upgraded meeting room with an outdoor pre-function space.

As Prospect Studio has been able to utilize much of the due diligence already completed and utilize the permitting that was previously approved for the earlier Pool Pavilion concept, they have been able to save time and expense so that we can proceed with the Wellness/Pool Pavilion without requiring external funding and be able to break ground in the Fall 2024. The good news is that the Wellness/Pool Pavilion will be less expensive than expected. The Clubhouse redesign will cost more than our initial expectation, largely due to the infrastructural challenges mentioned above.

The Executive Committee and Management will hold a meeting in mid-February with the Partners to present the updated plans, collect input, and discuss funding strategies for the main clubhouse. Once we receive their endorsement, we will organize a meeting with the membership to present the plans and subsequently host focus groups to collect additional input and ensure that all the details are in place. We intend to undertake the project sequentially beginning with a Wellness/Pool Pavilion with construction commencing toward the end of this year.

Further, as we expect greater frequency of usage with the new amenities, the Executive Committee has also been closely evaluating the right balance of usage within our membership categories: golf, racquet sports, and social. We are still on a waiting list for membership, but we need to evaluate capacity utilization across the various areas of the Club to ensure acceptable access to all areas. As we progress with the introduction of the fitness center and improvement of the existing clubhouse facilities, balancing our capacity throughout the Club will be an important component toward member satisfaction and the Club’s overall success.

— A MESSAGE FROM THE GM — Dear Members, With all the anticipation leading up to Christmas, it now feels like it has come and gone in a flash. We want to thank the membership for the strong support of the Club throughout the holidays and 2023 in its entirety.

Now that we are in 2024, it is typically a time for the Club to regroup and re-evaluate priorities for the coming year. However, this is not an ordinary year as the activity level at the Club is much higher than in past Januarys. With all-new dining menus, incorporating many changes based on comments received in the annual survey, lunch dining on Mondays, full yoga classes, and a highly engaged racquet sports group, the Club is busy with activity.

We intend to maintain this momentum with both adult and children’s crafts activities, health talks and wine dinners to increase engagement, strengthening the “sense of community” felt among our members. It is our goal to make Teton Pines an extension of your home here in the valley, which will further support the upcoming Clubhouse upgrade and expansion highlighted in the President’s Message. Please note, while similar in size, the newly designed pavilion provides better programming use of space to deliver a much larger fitness space and conveys greater value to a larger portion of the membership.

In our efforts to bring the Club to greater heights, we have spent significant time reviewing the recently completed annual survey to see how we can incorporate that feedback into our 2024 business plan. Our goal is to make Teton Pines an even greater component of your daily lives. We want to thank all the members who participated in that survey. It provided the Club with a significant amount of feedback and direction, and we hope that you have already started to see changes to the products and delivery, especially in Food & Beverage. In summary, there was a slight drop in perceived value from the membership overall which we will be actively addressing through increased offerings of activities, programming, and services. With Food and Beverage, we are addressing the overall drop in score by absorbing inflationary costs without increasing prices while still utilizing the highest quality products, adjusting the menu options with a larger variety and attractive price point features, and paying close attention to consistency in both product and service. Based on initial feedback from our new menus, we are moving in the right direction.

For Wellness, we will be offering more activities such as health talks, hobby groups, field trips, an exceptional youth summer camp program and providing more attention to our little gym, given the increased demand. For Golf, Racquet Sports, Social Activities, and Communications, we will focus on trying to continually fine-tune the experience.

We sincerely appreciate your involvement with the Member survey. Combined with a focus on the quality of the experience, increased engagement and enhancing the existing club amenities; we want to make Teton Pines an integral part of each member’s life as we continue our journey of continuous improvement to become the “Best in the Region”.

— A MESSAGE FROM MEMBERSHIP — 2023 was a great year at Teton Pines with the golf course, pools, and racquet amenities fully open and full of members enjoying their Club with one another!

Over the course of 2023 we were thrilled to welcome 15 New Members (published in the last quarterly Whispers & available on the New Members page of the website) and expand our waitlist to join the Club. As a result of typical year end attrition, we have also been able to welcome 11 New Members (see sidebar) in January to kickstart 2024! These new members were announced to the membership via our membership process in November and throughout December. The membership process includes posting candidates photos & bios to the Membership website, publishing their candidacy to the membership in our Friday weekly emails, reviewing sponsor forms and references, and collecting feedback from our current members. All components; feedback, references, and sponsor forms are carefully considered by the Membership Committee when contemplating recommendation to the Executive Committee for approval. Thus, your input is incredibly valuable to ensuring a cohesive and aligned membership community. Please take a moment to review the new members’ names published here and then head over to the New Member page of the website to see photos and full bios. And of course please provide a warm “Teton Pines” welcome when you see them at the Club!

As mentioned by Club President, John O’Dwyer and General Manager, Todd Bretzlaff, Teton Pines is looking forward to significant amenity investments over the course of the next four to five years to expand and elevate the amenities at the Club. Now is a great time to introduce your friends to Teton Pines so that they can enjoy, in addition to the great amenities, the active and friendly membership community you have created at the Club. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work as Membership Director is to observe our new members connecting with established members, participating in the wonderful events and activities offered at the Club, and enjoying the “slice of heaven” that is living in Jackson Hole, here at the Club. We encourage you to share your experiences here at the Club with your friends in order to solidify Teton Pines as the most popular country club in Jackson Hole. A Message from the Director of Food & Beverage, Patrick King Hello from the F&B Team!

Thank you all for joining us over the 2023 Holiday Season; we had packed events every night and Santa stopped by five times to see our Mini Members! We are off to a fast start in 2024 with lots of exciting news coming out of our dining room.

We are pleased to continue offering lunch service Monday through Friday each and every week, featuring daily specials from $10 House Ground Burgers to buy one get one half off entrees! We’ll also be featuring weekly dinner specials to help mix things up and keep it fun.

Speaking of fun, don’t forget to swing by from 3pm to 6pm, Wednesday through Saturday for our Pines Happy Hour, where we’re serving up half price drinks and $12 appetizers. Dinner starts at 5pm, so join us for a few half price drinks before enjoying one of Chef Laura’s Tempura ahi tuna rolls!

As we move into February, mark your calendars to join us on Thursdays for our ever growing Wine Tasting and Cocktail Party mixers. We have also prepared a wonderful menu for two for our Valntine’s Day Sweetheart Dinner; we encourage you to please make your reservations early to avoid missing out on this always popular event! Everyone’s favorite, Trivia Night at Clarke’s, will return with Ace on Monday, February 19th, followed by a ‘friend raiser’ event we are hosting for the National Museum of Wildlife Art (NMWA) on the 28th; there will be interactive art for the members to try out and some fun activities with wine and snacks.

In March, keep your Thursdays earmarked for the continued Wine Tastings at the Clubhouse. We will also be hosting our second Wine Dinner of the season on Saturday, March 2nd, an event you won’t want to miss. We are looking forward to this year’s Easter Brunch on Sunday, March 31st. If you’re in town, we encourage you to make your reservation for a delicious brunch and Easter egg hunt for the little ones.

April will wrap everything up for the season with our last lunch on the 12th and last dinner on the 13th. Will we be golfing early this year?! We shall see!

A Message from the Director of Golf, Matt Stireman, PGA The weather may still be cold and the golf course is covered in snow, but the Golf staff is already busy preparing for the upcoming 2024 golf season! We look forward to an event-filled Golf Calendar for Men’s & Ladies/WGA play, the always popular Monday Mixers, and a full season of major events, such as our Member/Guest, Member/Member, and Club Championship tournaments. Watch for information, coming soon, to secure your spot in these major tournaments; noteably the Men’s and Ladies’ Member/Guest events.

We’re also getting ready to stock our ProShop with exciting new gear and apparel for the coming season. We recently attended the 2024 PGA Show in Orlando, Florida to see first-hand and in-person everything you’ll need to take both your game and your fashion to the next level. We’re excited to share all of the new gear and apparel we found when the ProShop returns this spring.

The Golf Simulator continues to offer a fun and enjoyable activity for golfers of all levels.

I highly encourage our Members to stop by the Clubhouse and take a swing at this family-friendly offering while we wait for the green grass to arrive. Coming this winter, the new GC Falcon technology will improve the player experience and will offer the most up-to-date teaching and fitting technology available. This new technology, coupled with the latest club fitting resources from Titleist, Taylor-Made, Callaway, and XXIO, makes taking your game to the next level achievable in 2024. Schedule your lessons or club fitting today to get ready for the 2024 season ahead!

A Message from the Director of Racquet Sports, Julie Weinberger Welcome, 2024! Here in the Teton Pines Racquet Sports Center, we continue to see busier than ever courts full of pickleball and tennis play.

We could not be more thrilled to see that Members are having such a great time learning, socializing and getting active with their peers and our Racquet Sports Pros. As a reminder, our weekly drills and playdays, part of your memberships, are open to all Members. Registration for these events opens at 7am MST, seven days in advance. Outside of these scheduled playdays and drills, we encourage Members to form their own groups for clinics and doubles play! Our Racquet Sports team is here to help facilitate these Member groups. We invite you to email tennis@tetonpines.com to help find new Members to play with.

In the months ahead, we look forward to some exciting special events in addition to our regularly scheduled drills and playdays. We will welcome both intermediate and advanced players for our Winter Tennis Camp over Presidents Day weekend, which will feature three days of play with our staff and visiting pros, as well as a delicious Pines dinner.

And, bring the whole family for an afternoon pickleball fun at the Family Pickleball Playday on Saturday, March 2nd. With games, snacks and prizes up for grabs, it’s sure to be the family event of the season!

Drawing inspiration from Sir Isaac Newton’s first law of motion, “An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion,” our Wellness & Activities team is focused on offering a variety of activities that will keep you and your whole family in motion.

We’re here to keep you in motion with daily fitness classes, weekly ski groups and a variety of offerings for our Mini Members.

Through collaborative wellness programs and engaging activities, we aim to build connections that go beyond the gym and fitness classes, fostering relationships throughout our membership.

We are looking forward to upcoming events like our new Lunch & Learn series, featuring discussions with Kim Micheletti, PT, DPT, RYT and Cossette Burnham, Doctor of Physical Therapy. Member-led Adult Craft classes like Intro to Knitting with Margaret Brady Moll and Cross Stitch with Beth Schenck will be an opportunity to not only learn a new skill, but meet some new freinds in the process. During the month of February, we’re highlighting self care opportunities. Members can look forward to DIY lip balm and bath bomb making classes, a Learn to Fall class in partnership with Jackson MMA and the continuation of our Nordic and Alpine ski groups. New this season, we are also offering our First Tracks Ski Group - a weekly advanced ski group led by JHMR instructor, Mike Bickley.

The family fun continues as we enter March and April, with events that everyone in the family will enjoy. Each month we are excited to offer a Kids Movie Night that coincides with dinner service at Clarke’s, affording parents some much needed adult time. And our Swim & S’mores events are a great opportunity to take advantage of the year-round Aquatics Center, where Mini Members will have the chance to splash in our heated lap pool and enjoy a hot chocolate and s’mores.

With the mountains covered in snow, it’s hard to believe that summer is right around the corner, but it will be here before we know it. Our Wellness Team is looking forward to the summer ahead, especially the return of Camp Teton Pines!
