The Territorial Difference Dedicated Trial, Research & Seed Production Farm

All the seed varieties that we offer have been grown and tested at our 75-acre farm. Each year we dedicate approximately 5 acres to trialing new varieties and growing out current offerings for quality assurance. We trial hundreds of new varieties each year, and only those that have proven to thrive and perform, yielding the highest quality crops, will receive our stamp of approval. In addition, we produce seed varieties that are carefully grown and maintained using the best traditional selection and isolation practices. This ensures that our signature crops are of the highest quality, true-to-type, and best germinating seeds available.

Highest Germination Standards

To ensure we sell only top performing seed we have established germination standards that are higher than those prescribed by the Federal Seed Act. Our resident seed analyst tests every lot of seed we sell to ensure your success.

Organic Certified

The majority of our farm is used for Organic seed crop production. Our farm is our own largest seed producer, specializing in lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash. We are certified USDA organic by CCOF Certification Services LLC.

40+ Years of Hands-On Growing Expertise

Since its founding the mission of Territorial Seed Company has been to help growers produce fresh-from-the-garden food yearround. The Johns family, owners since 1985, continue the tradition of rigorous testing, trialing, and data analysis to help our customers be successful. The family continues to learn and grow each season, along with the entire Territorial Team.

100% Guarantee on all Products

At Territorial our products are backed by our full guarantee. We want you, our customers, to be 100% satisfied with the seed, plants and supplies that you purchase from us. If anything you buy from Territorial proves to be unsatisfactory, we will either replace the item or refund the purchase price, whichever you prefer.

Family-Owned & Operated Since 1979

Territorial Seed Company was founded on the idea that there should be a resource that gardeners and growers could turn to for everything they needed: the highest quality seed, extensive growing information, and hands-on knowledge of the varieties being sold. We began doing just that with crops and experience gathered at our fledgling 5 acre farm. From that humble beginning, everything offered to customers was trialed and tested on this small plot. After 40+ years the only thing that has changed is the amount of acreage Territorial grows on! Tom and Julie Johns have continued to improve upon the original ideals, which permeate Territorial Seed Company's core and spread to all the new, innovative ventures including these professional offerings. Their son and daughter have also joined the team, and together the family strives to continue the tradition of quality, knowledge, and dedication that has made Territorial seed the best around.

Fresh Opportunities to Grow It’s a new season, and that means fresh opportunities to grow delicious, healthy crops. Empowering people to feed their communities is the driving force for everything we do, and nobody exemplifies this better than you, the professional grower. That’s why we’ve spent this past year testing new varieties at our research farm, ensuring every seed we offer exceeds market standards. Each variety in our expanded product line was hand-picked with wholesale and freshmarket production in mind. We have Cartier onion that’s revolutionized storage quality standards. Our Darkstar tomato hybrid has the best qualities of ‘Black’ heirloom and is Late Blight resistant. As for a lettuce that’s disease resistant, bolt resistant, and built for success in field, greenhouse, or hydroponic production, there’s our red leaf Little Gem type, Rosaine. For our fresh cut flower producers, we have over 36 new products, with our favorites highlighted in this book. You’ll also find several certified organic strawberry plants, including the return of one of our old favorites, Seascape. We also took a trip to upstate NY this year, vetting new introductions and working with our breeding partners to select even more varieties for next season. We’re excited to share our victories with you and help as you support communities all across the country. - The Territorial Seed Company Team

All pelleted seed have a National Organic Program (NOP) approved coating. For best results, store pelleted seed in an air-tight container and use within one season.

Heavy Biodegradable Paper Mulch

Dealing with weeds and maintaining organic standards can mean a lot of back-breaking work. Plastic mulches are effective but don't decompose. That’s why we recommend this biodegradable paper mulch. Ours has a unique, creped texture, which gives the paper some flex and allows it to conform comfortably to the soil surface. Apply either manually or with a mulch layer, and till under at the end of the season. The paper will naturally decompose, adding valuable organic matter to the soil. Note: We recommend using this mulch on flat applications rather than raised beds. Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) listed. • Excellent weed suppression—100% opaque • Creped texture adds flexibility and body for good • Reduce runoff and conserve water ground contact • Water and nutrient permeable material • Compatible with both drip and overhead irrigation ZRC781*..........4' x 250'.............$205.95 • Natural color blends with and warms the soil *

Pelleted seed is coated with a clay-based, National Organic Program (NOP) approved material to form a larger, round shape. This makes planting by hand or mechanical seeder easier and allows for more controlled sowing of small seeds such as carrots or lettuce. For best results, store pelleted seed in an air-tight container and use within one season.

Seeding rate: 50 pounds per acre
