Dear Friends,
This Jewish year has been unlike any we have experienced. Heartbreak and despair have overwhelmed our entire Jewish world. Never has the water been more troubled.
Our tradition teaches, “The whole world is a very narrow bridge. The most important part is not to make oneself afraid.” Amidst a world of fear and uncertainty, these High Holy Days offer a bridge to a new year, full of possibility, courage and hope.
Fortunately, throughout the past year, even as we grieved, our community grew and thrived. You showed up – in record numbers – to cry, to pray, to learn, to celebrate, and to share with your clergy and fellow congregants. Never has our community been more vibrant, or more essential.
We approach this High Holy Day season with great anticipation, looking forward to seeing you fill our sanctuary with your full voices and valuable presence.
Over these Days of Awe, let us journey together over that bridge. And let us do so unafraid. L’shanahyotertovah– here’s to a better, brighter, sweeter and more peaceful year ahead.
