MEMORIAL PLAQUES
Temple Israel offers commemoratory wall plaque dedications, memorializing those that have departed and honoring them with an everlasting tribute. Plaques are inscribed with your loved one's name and the date of death in both the standard and Hebrew calendar.
For more information or to purchase a memorial plaque, please visit: tiwestport.org/memorialplaque
We remember these beloved ones whose names are inscribed on tablets in our Memorial Hall. May their memories always be for a blessing.
Let the glory of God be extolled, let His great name be hallowed in the world whose creation He willed. May His kingdom soon prevail, in our own day, our own lives, and the life of all Israel, and let us say: Amen.
Let His great name be blessed for ever and ever.
Let the name of the Holy One, blessed is He, be glorified, exalted, and honored, though He is beyond all the praises, songs, and adorations that we can utter, and let us say: Amen. For us and for all Israel, may the blessing of peace and the promise of life come true, and let us say: Amen.
May the One who causes peace to reign in the high heavens, let peace descend on us, on all Israel, and all the world, and let us say: Amen.
May the Source of peace send peace to all who mourn and comfort to all who are bereaved. Amen
TEMPLE ISRAEL CEMETERY
Temple Israel has owned a cemetery since April, 1966. Temple Israel is proud of the cemetery and takes great pride in creating a peaceful loving place for everyone.
In the tradition of the Jewish people, the cemetery has always been hallowed ground. Referred to as a “beth olam” (abode of eternity) or “beth hayim” (abode of life), the cemetery was often the first institution established by a Jewish community. Religious services and study classes can be held in any suitable room, home, or even hired hall, but the cemetery is holy and set apart.
For more information about the Temple Israel cemetery or purchasing plots, please contact Bryan Bierman at bbierman@tiwestport.org
