Türkiye Bir Tekstil Ülkesidir ve Öyle de Kalacakt›r Turkey is a Textile Country and will Continue to be a Textile Country. 2010 ve 2011 y›l› ilk yar›s›nda gerçekleflen uluslararas› ticaret verilerinde, 2008-2009 y›llar›nda tüm dünyay› sarsan ve tekstil sektöründe de etkisini gösteren krizin sonland›¤›, yat›r›mlar›n artarak devam etti¤i görülüyor. Özellikle tekstil sektörü bu ivmeyle yola devam ederse, 2011 y›l› sonuna kadar eski hareketli günlerine yeniden kavuflacak gibi görünüyor. May›s ay›nda yap›lan ITMF Tekstil Makineleri Workshop’unda 2009'un son çeyre¤inde sektörün toparlanmaya bafllad›¤›, 2010 y›l›nda ise çok h›zl› bir yükselifl göstererek toparlanma evresini tamamlay›p kriz öncesi sat›fl rakamlar›n› yakalad›¤›, daha sonra ise sat›fllar›n stabil olarak devam etti¤i, 2011 ve 2012 y›llar› için de genel anlamdaki beklentilerinin pozitif oldu¤u vurguland›. Burada verilen yat›r›m bilgilerine göre Türkiye, dünya tekstil makinesi al›c›s› ülkeler aras›nda, ilk 5’teki yerini koruyor. Swissmem’in May›s ay›nda yapt›¤› bas›n toplant›s›nda ç›kan sonuç da bu durumu destekliyor: 2010 y›l›nda ‹sviçre’den en çok makine al›m› yapan ilk 3 ülke aras›nda Türkiye yerini koruyor. Üstelik bu listeye göre Türkiye, ‹sviçreli firmalardan yapt›¤› tekstil makine ithalat›n› 2009’a oranla %175 art›rm›fl. Haziran ay›nda ‹stanbul’da yap›lan ‹talyan Teknik Tekstiller Semineri’nde ACIMIT yetkilileri taraf›ndan verilen bilgiye göre, tekstil sektörünün önemli makine tedarikçilerinden birisi olan ‹talya’n›n bafll›ca pazarlar› aras›nda Türkiye, 2. s›rada yer al›yor. ‹statistiksel verilerle desteklenen bu geliflmeler gösteriyor ki, Türkiye tekstil makinesi al›mlar›n› ve tekstil yat›r›mlar›n› h›z kesmeden sürdürüyor. Bu sebeple, 21-24 Nisan 2012 tarihlerinde, Türkiye’nin tekstil buluflmas› olarak düzenledi¤imiz ITM Texpo Eurasia 2012 Uluslararas› Tekstil Makineleri Fuar› ve HIGHTEX 2012 ‹stanbul Teknik Tekstiller ve Nonwoven Fuar›, oldukça hareketli ve yat›r›mlar›n nihayetlendi¤i bir platform olacak gibi görünüyor. Fuara kat›l›m için firmalardan gelen yo¤un talepler de, bu geliflmeleri destekler nitelikte. Böylece, bizlerin y›llard›r vurgulad›¤› gerçek bir kez daha kendisini gösteriyor ki: “Türkiye bir tekstil ülkesidir ve öyle de kalacakt›r.”
As per the international trade data realized in 2010 and the first half of 2011, it is seen that the crisis having hit the whole world and especially the textile industry in 2008-2009 has ended and that the investments continue by increasing considerably. Especially, if the textile industry continues this trend till the end of 2011, it seems that it will reach to its former active days. At the ITMF Textile Machineries Workshop organized on May, it was pointed out that the industry started to recover as of the last quarter of 2009, that it reached its sales figures before the crisis by undergoing a very fast recovery in 2010, that after that the sales continued on a more stable ground and that the expectations for 2011 and 2012 are positive in general. As per the investment information provided there, Turkey still preserves its place within the World’s Top 5 textile machinery buyers. The statistics provide at Swissmem’s press conference organized in May also support this situation: Turkey maintains its place among the Top 3 countries purchasing textile machinery from Switzerland in 2010. In addition, as per this information Turkey increased its textile machinery imports from Switzerland by 175% compared to 2009. At the Italian Technical Textiles seminar organized in Istanbul in June, as per the information given by ACIMIT representatives, Turkey ranks as the second largest market for Italy, being one of the most important suppliers in the textile industry. These developments, which are supported by statistical data, indicate that Turkey continues to purchase textile machineries and makes new investments. That’s why ITM Texpo Eurasia 2012 International Textile Machinery Exhibition and HIGHTEX 2012 Istanbul Technical Textiles and Nonwoven Exhibition to be organized on 21-24 April 2012 as Textile Meeting of Turkey seems to be very active and it will be a platform where investments will be finalized. Great interest shown by companies also supports these developments. After all, we are once more right that: “Turkey is a textile country and will continue to be a textile country.”

In the same quarter, the company has managed to raise its sales in Turkey to ® 241 million with a 66% growth. Dr. Jürgen Barwich, CEO of Basf Türk, has remarked that the Cognis acquisition, realized in December 2010, contributed significantly to the growth of the company both in Turkey and globally and added “Basf has achieved two digit sales increases in all regions in the first quarter. We are pleased to take part in this achievement with our sales in Turkey. Our company is strengthened by the integration of the Cognis team in Turkey with Basf’s Turkey operations.” Dr. Barwich continued his remarks and said “In the first quarter, all our sales in chemicals, plastics, performance products, functional solutions and agricultural products displayed increments. The expansion in sales is both as a result of the rapid development of Turkey and BASF’s innovative and comprehensive product portfolio that accompanies and supports this growth. We foresee a positive outlook for 2011 and the following years.” Globally, in the first quarter, Basf maintained its successful financial performance that it delivered in 2010. The yearly operational income (EBITDA) in this period grew by 28% and reached 3.4 billion.

Royal Carpet, producing carpets to world standards and attracting attention with its innovative products, completed its Sap Erp project, which is ran with Elsys consultancy in order to establish a structure to best meet their carpet production processes and monitor costs accurately. Royal Carpet, while achieving an integration structure with their SAP solution, also gained the benefits of monitoring production stage by stage over the system and create the shipment plan in a realistic manner, manage dealer orders in a single pool and monitor the product actual costs.

Üretim sahalar›na, karantina alan›na ve depolara kurulan PC’ler yard›m›yla çal›flanlar, sistem üzerindeki ifllemlerini sahada Sap kullanarak yürütmeye bafllad›lar.
Carpet specific production entry screens In the project carried out with Elsys expertise, the Sap Materials Management, Warehouse Management, Production Planning, Sales and Distribution, Quality Management, Cost Accounting and Control modules were commissioned. Throughout the project it was aimed that Sap processes were run effectively and rapidly on a single platform from the purchasing of yarn to its consumption, from the carpet production stage to its shipment. Along these lines, especially in the production phase, user-friendly “carpet specific production entry screens” were prepared. The employees who work with the aid of the pc's installed in the production areas, in the quarantine area and the warehouses, started to perform their operations on the field using Sap.

SAP üzerinde siparifller, program numaralar› baz›nda tutularak raporlanabiliyor; iki sistem, aradaki kesintisiz veri al›flverifliyle entegre bir yap›da çal›flabiliyor. ‹zlenebilirlik ve kontrol Proje dahilinde izlenebilirlili¤i sa¤lamak ve ifl ak›fl›n› daha kontrollü ve h›zl› yürütmek için barkod ve el terminali uygulamalar› gerçeklefltirildi. Hal›lar›n adres ve raf baz›nda depo girifl ç›k›fllar› ve sevk›yatlar›, el terminalleri üzerinden okutulup kontrollü olarak gerçeklefltirildi. Hal›lar›n sevk›yat öncesi a¤›rl›k bilgilerini gerçek zamanl› olarak güncelleyen terazi entegrasyonuyla tart›m cihaz› ve SAP konuflturularak ölçüm bilgisi SAP’ye devral›nd›. Fasonda yapt›r›lan farkl› tipteki ifllemler için fason senaryolar› oluflturuldu ve hal› sürecine özgü fason ifllem uyarlamalar› gerçeklefltirildi.
Weavlink integration The basic part of the Royal Carpet Sap project was the integration with the Weavlink program which does the optimum layout of the carpets on the looms. While within the scope of the integration, production plans and customer order information were created on the Sap system and transferred to Weavlink, the program number, information on orders fitted to the weaving looms and which are woven on a route and row basis, the time spent and the information yarns used created in Weavlink were imported to Sap. The orders can be kept and reported on the basis of program numbers on Sap and the two systems can be operated in an integrated manner through the uninterrupted data exchange in between. Traceability and control In order to provide for traceability and run the work flow in a more controlled and rapid manner within the project, barcode and hand terminal applications were realized. The warehouse entries and exits and the shipments of the carpets on an address and shelf basis were read via the hand terminals and realized in a controlled manner. With the integration with the scales, which updates in real time the weight information for carpets prior to shipment, the weighing device and SAP were made to communicate and the measurement information was transferred to Sap. A contracted work scenario was formed for the various types of operations contracted out and the contracted work adaptations specific to the carpet process were realized.

he Italian Trade Commission (ICE) and TexClubTec organized a seminar on 28 June 2011 at Lütfü K›rdar Congress and Exhibition Center. At the organization held with the title of “The Excellence of Italian Technical Textiles”, presentation about the Italian technical textiles were presented and then bilateral meetings were organized with the participation of 15 Italian companies. Turkish companies showed great interest to Italian companies in these meetings. Technical textiles and Italian textile machineries: A successful partnership Around 300 companies and an employment capacity of 12.700 people are present in the Italian textile machinery industry. The turnover reached by 2.4 billion Euro in 2010 and 79% of this turnover has been obtained through exports realized to 130 countries. Italy is one of the most important machinery suppliers of the textile industry and its market share is 11%. The main markets of the Italian export are Asian counties and 50% of the exports are realized to these countries. As per the export figures of 2010, the main markets are as follows: China (426 million Euro), Turkey (123 million Euro), India (112 million Euro) and Brazil (75 million Euro). The importance of Italian textile machineries is great in the field of technical textiles and nonwovens. The production of technical textiles has strong growth margins. New technological solutions are always needed so as to satisfy the requirements of the manufacturers. In that sense, Italian textile machineries are playing an important role in the development of the industry. As per

ACIMIT’s forecasts, around 10% of the Italian textile machinery production (which is equivalent to 300 million Euro) is dedicated to this industry for machinery sales. There are around 120 textile machinery manufacturer companies manufacturing machineries for companies dealing with technical textiles production. Exports constitute 76% of the industry’s turnover. The main markets of these companies are European countries, China and USA. The technologies provided are applied in the medical, apparel, home textile and industrial applications. The most dominant features of the Italian textile machineries are: creativity, reliability, quality and technology. The quality of the Italian machinery manufacturers can vary from company to company and from segment to segment. However, we have to underline the 3 main factors determining the companies of the industry: •The constant and deep relationship of the industry and the Italian fashion and textile being the European leader in terms of value and quality. •.The availability of industrial zones and the uninterrupted communication with textile manufacturers and machinery manufacturers. •.The ability to respond to customer’s need quickly and their close relationships with clients as textile machinery manufacturers are small and medium scaled companies. These factors enable Italian textile machinery manufacturers to be successful in the field of technical textiles field. In terms of proactivity of the industry, production requirements are also harder. ACIMIT, Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association gathers a great part of the companies under its roof. Their production constitutes 80% of the total turnover.

The biggest advantage of the fully electronic flat knitting machinery to be presented to the market is that they have a simple working feature. This is achieved by two elements on the plate: this is performed by a single selective platinum and needle. Thus compared to all known machinery, the needle, platinum and spare parts cost is very low. In terms of field of application, it will be operated by all knitting manufacturers working on flat knitting machinery.

The most important of these advantages is its difference in terms of quality and price; you can purchase 2 instead of 1 compared to the other machines in the market. Among its other advantages: low spare parts cost, capability of all kinds of knitting and patterns, savings up to 75% in terms of electricity consumption compared to all equivalent machines operating with 220 volt mono-phase electricity. Inelli Plastik’s General Manager Mr.Alican Inelli stated that the production of textile industry plastic yarn bobbins would continue and told that they aimed to rank among the largest 100 industry companies in Aegean region in 5 years time by increasing their production for mainly the automotive industry and white goods, super market and hygiene industries. Mr.‹nelli pointing out that they are operating in the plastic industry for more than 50 years, said: “Till 2006, we were manufacturing almost completely for the textile industry. Our main products were bobbins, reels and tubes. But the textile market started to narrow and be saturated. In addition, many people knowing or not knowing this business entered to the industry and decreased prices so as to get share from the market. These showed us that it was not convenient to be bound to one industry”.

This year we expect an increase by 70%. We have also started to manufacture plastic products for the white goods, super market materials and hygiene industry. We manufacture plastic parts for one of the largest heating products manufacturer in Turkey. We have sub-production for one of the world’s most known trademarks for 2 years in super market materials, hygiene and cleaning materials. We send insulator parts to plants of Siemens located in Turkey, Indonesia, South Africa, Mexico, Colombia and Germany. These parts are mounted on big cutting groups.” Mr.Inelli informed that besides standard productions, they have started to manufacture different plastic parts on project basis. “We have worked on various projects from Germany. We made business with some companies. We are still receiving orders from these companies. We are preferred thanks to our know-how, measuring capability and training infrastructure in products required as featured, high quality and traceability” said Mr.Inelli. Last year, 47% of Inelli’s turnover was achieved from textile while the remaining turnover was achieved as follows: 11% from automotive, 16% from white goods, 8.5% from super market and hygiene and 17.5 % from other industries. “This year we plan to increatekstil teknoloji 59

ISO TS 16949 Quality System influences our reel production positively and provides a more professional organization. Our laboratory established within the scope of these studies becomes more competent day by day. You cannot find 3D- 3 dimensional measuring devices in all plastic manufacturers. Studies like FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA and Cpk are performed in our company and these distinguish us from all other plastic manufacturers. Our goal is to finish the race as the runner up in the forthcoming years with knowledge, investment to human and technology. There is no other way to achieve this. None of the SMEs can survive in another way. Working in compliance with the international measuring and quality standards is the main way to achieve this. And this is possible only with a qualified team. We will have products for the automotive industry motivating our growth. Of course we will have other productions in other industries but we will mainly focus on automotive industry. Our company will always prove its quality and high quality bobbins eliminating the yarn losses left on yarn dyeing manufacturers on cheap bobbins,” said Mr.Inelli. Mr.Inelli continued his words by telling that the export items are mainly products for textile industry except the ones manufactured for some special projects and Siemens plants. “We export to mainly USA, Germany, Indonesia, Thailand, Pakistan, Egypt, Tunisia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan. We target more export this year with special projects. Principally we want to create our overseas market expansion with automotive parts. Models and designs in the automotive industry are determined a few years in advance. We may start to export automotive parts by 2012. Last year we purchased 3 new injection machines. Thus we both increased our capacity and speed. In the second half of 2011, we will make investments to increase our quality rather than our capacity. Investments realized last year and the ones to be realized this year will reach approximately 600.000 Euros. This year we will also accelerate our studies to diversify our markets. We want to make business with Ethiopia and Sudan where Turkish entrepreneurs make investment. However, we will wait until the political situation gets stable in the region. Our main target for yarn bobbins are China and India. We constantly give offer to these countries, but it is very difficult for us to maintain a good price in commodity products. We plan to overcome this with technical solutions. We plan to eliminate the price disadvantage with faster production, different plastic raw material solutions and new products” said Mr.‹nelli.

TTM Makine T›k›r T›k›r Üretiyor TTM Machine Manufactures Like Clockwork Türkiye’nin ilk ve tek yuvarlak örgü makinesi üreticisi TTM Makine, “Türkiye için t›k›r t›k›r üretiyoruz” slogan›yla yola ç›km›fl olmas›na ra¤men, üretiminin %70’ini çeflitli ülkelere ihraç ediyor. TTM Makine, who is Turkey’s first and sole circular knitting machine manufacturer, exports 70% of its production despite their motto “We manufacture like clockwork for Turkey”. TM Makine, 2000’li y›llar›n bafl›nda 40 y›ll›k tecrübesini üretime dönüfltürerek, Türk tekstil sektörünün ihtiyaç duydu¤u yerli yuvarlak örgü makinelerini Türkiye’de üretmeye bafllad›. Ni¤de’deki üretim tesislerinde, makinelerini çeflitlendirerek faaliyetlerini sürdüren TTM Makine, bu y›lsonuna kadar üretim kapasitesini art›rmak amac›yla yat›r›mlar yap›yor. TM Makine transformed its experience of 40 years into production in the beginning of 2000’s and started to manufacture local circular knitting machines in Turkey for the Turkish textile industry. TMM Makine operating in their production plant located in Ni¤de continues its activities by diversifying their machines and makes investments so as to increase their production capacity till the end of this year. The company, which does not get support and help from any one including the official institutions, cannot participate to ITMA 2011 Exhibition due to their full production schedule. Mr.Osman Ero¤lu, General Manager and Founder of TTM Makine informed us about their scopes, story and current situation. Their motto is “We manufacture like clockwork for Turkey”.

Can you inform us about your status in the market as Turkey’s first and sole circular knitting machine manufacturer? We sensed that the industry needed something like that. We have already been in the industry for many years. We thought that we could al-

Sektörde böyle bir fleye ihtiyaç oldu¤unu hissettik. Zaten y›llard›r sektörün içinde olma bir firmay›z. Y›llarca satt›¤›m›z makinelerin teknik servis hizmetini verdi¤imizden ve tamir ifllerini yapt›¤›m›zdan dolay›, üretim de yapabiliriz dedik. Bu konuda yapt›¤›m›z araflt›rmalar do¤rultusunda, yapabilece¤imizi düflünerek yola ç›kt›k ve seri üretime bafllad›k. Üretti¤imiz makinelerin %70’ini ihraç ediyoruz. Bunun çok ac› bir durum oldu¤unu düflünüyorum. Çünkü Türkiye’de hala makinelerimizi tercih etmiyorlar, bu bizi üzüyor ve y›prat›yor. Oysa biz bu anlamda, dünyan›n en iyi makinesini yap›yoruz; buradaki tesisimizde makinenin her fleyini üretiyoruz, çok hassas kontrollerden geçiriyoruz, laboratuar›m›zda kapsaml› olarak ve çok ciddi flekilde bütün parçalar›n analizleri yap›l›yor, her fleyiyle yüksek kaliteye ulaflmak için çabal›yoruz. Bu makinelerimizde çok sa¤l›kl›, uzun ömürlü, çok kaliteli kumafllar üretiliyor. Fakat Türkiye’deki firmalara bunu anlatt›¤›m›z zaman, Çin’in bile bizden daha de¤erli oldu¤unu bile söyleyebiliyorlar, yerli üreticiye güvenmediklerini alenen beyan ediyorlar. Böyle bir durumda, bana milyon dolarlar da verseler makine satmak istemiyorum. Bunlarla karfl›lafl›nca biz de do¤ru pazar› bulmak için yurtd›fl›na aç›ld›k. Bu yüzden üretimimizin %70’ini ihraç ediyoruz. Ayda 50 makine üretiyorsak, bunun 45’ini yurt d›fl›na gönderiyoruz, 5 tanesini iç piyasaya veriyoruz. Oysa tam tersi olmas› gerekiyor; 45’ini iç pazara, 5’ini yurtd›fl›na vermeyi istiyoruz. Ama anlatt›¤›m gibi, flimdilik bu pek mümkün görünmüyor. Bu önyarg›n›n sebepleri nelerdir? Daha önceleri birileri bir fleyler yapmaya çal›flm›fl. Eksik hizmetler verilmifl, kimse iflinin arkas›nda durmam›fl. Piyasadaki firmalar›n hakl› olduklar› taraflar var ama demeden bu kararlar›nda
so manufacture as we had been providing technical and maintenance service for the machines we sold. As per the researches we have conducted in this subject, we thought that we could succeed and started mass production. We export 70% of the machines we manufacture. I think this is a disappointing situation as our machines are still not preferred in Turkey and this upsets us. Whereas we are manufacturing the best machine in the world in that sense; we manufacture everything of the machine in our plant, here in Turkey, we carry out very sensitive controls, we analyze all parts in detail and seriously in our laboratory and we do our best to achieve high quality in all aspects. Long lasting, high quality and healthy fabrics are manufactured in our machines. However, when we tell this to companies in Turkey they can even tell us that even China is more precious for them and that they do not trust local manufacturers. In such a case, I do not want to sell any machine even if they offer me million dollars. After having experienced such thing we decided to expand to overseas to find the right market. That’s why we export 70% of our production. If we manufacture 50 machines, we export 45 of these machines. We send 5 of them to the local market. However, it should be the contrary; we want to sell 45 machines to the local market and export only 5 machines. Whereas, due to the reasons I have just mentioned, it seems that this is not possible for the time being. What are the reasons of this prejudice? Some people previously tried to do something. Insufficient services were provided, no one stood behind the job performed. There are some points that companies are right but on the other hand I also think that it is not fair that they insist on their thought without trying our machines. We delivered machines to some companies in Turkey and although these machines functions properly some people told them not to buy. The sale was concluded but they returned the machine already paid. Then we gave them back the money. After having experienced this, I would like to say that it is essential to be careful and sensitive with fabric manufacturers. We believe that this prejudice will be overcome in time. We hope that our machines will be preferred in time as they hear

Türkiye’deki birkaç firmaya makine teslim ettik, iyi ve sorunsuz çal›fl›yor olmas›na ra¤men birileri alma dedi; sat›fl› yap›lm›fl, ödemesi al›nm›fl makineleri iade ettiler, biz de paralar›n› geri verdik. Bunlar› yaflad›ktan sonra, kumafl üreticilerine biraz daha dikkatli ve hassas davranmalar›n›n daha sa¤l›kl› oldu¤unu söylemek istiyorum. Bu önyarg› sorunun zamanla çözülece¤ine inan›yoruz. Gördükçe, duydukça merak edip tercih haline getireceklerini umuyoruz. Yo¤unlu¤umuz sebebiyle gelecek yeni taleplere de flu an pek s›cak bakam›yoruz, bu sebeple pazarlama ya da kendimizi ispatlamak için bir efor harcam›yoruz. Çünkü iç piyasadaki bu olanlara ra¤men, yurt d›fl›na satt›¤›m›z makineler sebebiyle siparifllere yetiflemiyoruz. Bu yüzden üretim tesisimizde yeni yat›r›mlar yap›p, kapasitemizi bu y›lsonuna kadar art›rmay› planl›yoruz. Yurt d›fl›nda hangi ülkelerle çal›fl›yorsunuz? Özbekistan, Bangladefl, Afrika ülkelerinde görüfltü¤ümüz ve makine siparifli ald›¤›m›z firmalar var. Makinelerimizden oldukça memnunlar; bugüne kadar sorun var diye bizi aramad›lar. Buradaki sat›fl büromuzda telefonlar flikayet için çalm›yor; ald›¤›m›z makine bozuk, sorun var diye aranm›yoruz. Çünkü bir örgü üreticisinin yaflad›klar›n›, hangi marka olursa olsun çekti¤i s›k›nt›lar› biliyoruz ve üretim aflamas›nda bu konular› halletti¤imizi söyleyebilirim. Ürettikten sonra, kullan›m aflamas›nda bakal›m, denesinler, sorun ç›karsa müdahale edelim, çözümü üretelim demedik; tecrübelerimizle üretimde çözüm gelifltirilmifl haliyle makineyi gelifltirdik. Üretti¤imiz makineyi önce biz çal›flt›rd›k, hem de zorlu flartlarda çal›flt›rd›k, buna ra¤men per-

As due to the machines sold to overseas we cannot deliver new machines despite the situation in Turkey. That’s why we plan to increase our production capacity till the end of this year with new investments. What are the countries you make business with? Uzbekistan, Bangladesh and Africa are countries we make business and receive orders. They are very satisfied with our machines. Up to now, they have never contacted us for any problems regarding our machines. Our sales office here does not get calls for complaints. We are not contacted for problems or defected machines. Because we know the problems of a knit manufacturers, no matter what is the trade mark. Thus I can say that we have overcome and solved all problems during production phase. We did not think to create solutions for problems when they arise. We developed the machines with our experience and with the solutions in production. We operated first the machines manufactured. We operated them under harsh conditions. Although there was no problem in the performance of the machines we made trials to increase the quality. We are trying hard to develop the best with C›ng›llar in spare parts. C›ng›llar cooperates with us and contribute us with their expertise. How do you determine your product range and models? We develop machine and models in compliance with the requirements and demands but in the world there are main structures when you mention about circular knitting machines. Mainly models from 6 pus to 60 pus are preferred. We have all the designs, patterns of them. As we know the issue very well, the demands do not force us. Except these, some yarns should be operated in some fines and we can manufacture models in fines. We can manufacture all machinery types related with knitted fabrics and develop the features required. We can respond to all

Bunlar haricinde baz› ipliklerin baz› fine’larla çal›flmas› gerekiyor, bu ara fiyn’larda modeller de üretebiliyoruz. Örgü kumafl›yla ilgili bütün makine çeflitlerini yapabiliyoruz ve istenilen özellikleri gelifltirebiliyoruz. Ni¤de Organize Sanayi’deki tesisimizde her çeflit üretime cevap verebiliyoruz. Bu tesisimizi büyük bir özen ile haz›rlad›k, yat›r›mlar›m›z› ona göre yapt›k. ‹stanbul merkezli bir firmas›n›z, üretim tesisiniz neden Ni¤ de’de bulunuyor? Ni¤deli oldu¤um için orada istihdam sa¤lamak ve kalifiye eleman yetifltirebilece¤imiz bir tesisi açmak istedim. Bu yüzden üretim tesisimizi orada kurduk, yat›r›m› oraya yapt›k. Bu tesisimiz ayn› zamanda bir okul gibi iflliyor, orada gençlerimiz e¤itim görülüp bilgi ve tecrübe sahibi oluyorlar. ‹stedi¤imiz makineleri üretebilecek bir tesise sahibiz. Örgü sektörünün flu andaki durumu nedir? Biz 2008’de bu yat›r›ma bafllad›¤›m›zda, herkes örgüye yat›r›m yap›lmaz, kapat›n diye ba¤›r›yordu. Ben örgü sektörü çok iyi olacak diye söyledim. Çünkü biz teknoloji üreticileri güçlenirsek, örgücüler de güçlenecektir; biz daha ucuza, daha yüksek kaliteli üretim yaparsak, bu örgü üreticilerine yarar sa¤layacakt›r. Ama burada Uzakdo¤u mal›yla bizi k›yaslamaya çal›fl›rlarsa, maliyetinin alt›nda tekliflerde bulunurlarsa iç piyasada yerli makinelerin geliflimi söz konusu olamaz. kinds of production in our plant in Ni¤de Organized Industry Zone. We have prepared our plant with a great care and made our investments in that sense. You are a company with an headquarter in Istanbul. Why your production plant is located in Nigde? I wanted to provide employment and establish a plant where I could train qualified staff in Nigde as I am from Nigde. That’s why our production plant is there. Our plant also functions like a school as our youth are trained and are experienced. We have a plant to produce whatever we want. What is the current situation in knitting industry? When we started this investment in 2008, everybody told us not to invest and informed us to close. I said that knitting industry would do great. The industry recovered and reached it best level when we were about to conclude our designs and I was right. Today, the industry is at a good situation. Now manufacturers increased the quality and companies institutionalized. There is no apologizing for defected production in Turkey. If you have defected production, then you cannot survive. Conscious production shall be done for sure. Manufacturers are more professional but it will be better if you can eliminate prejudices. If we get stronger as technology producers, knitting manufacturers will also get stronger. If we manufacture high quality products with cheaper prices, this will make contribution on behalf of knitting manufacturers. But if people keep comparing us with Far East products and offering us prices below our production costs, local manufacturers cannot develop. We are not expensive in terms of machines in this quality. We sell the highest level of machines for convenient prices. Our prices are a little bit above of the Far Eastern manufacturers. In addition the machines, which we sell, have an unlimited warranty of 5 years. If we take into consideration that there is no transport cost and that the orders can be delivered in short times, it will be obviously seen that as a local manufacturer we provide big advantages at low costs. What are your after sales services? The machines are equipped with computers. We can monitor each defect online at the plant. We can even connect to the machine operator no matter where he is in the world. We also add such features to our machines. As we constantly encourage our team to do jobs to be excited, if this is not possible we tell them to do a better machine and send our team everywhere in the world so that they get trained. We are very quick in information transfer. That is to say we do not wait until that someone else manufactures a machine. We work on the machines to contribute them. We do not copy machines. The machines are all our designs. We develop our machines by negotiating and arguing with our team constantly. We also go to deliver the machines after sales and install them on place as we are very prudent in our work. Up to now, none of our machines were sent to maintenance and repair due to an error as there was no need for this. Can we get information about your R&D and P&D investments? As TTM, we have a team of 3.500 staff employed in the development of our machines, production, sales, worldwide representativeness, R&D and P&D. Olmad› daha iyisini yapal›m diyoruz ve teknik ekibimizi dünyan›n her taraf›na gönderip teknik e¤itimlere tabi tutuyoruz. Bilgi transferinde çok h›zl›y›z. Yani, birisi yaps›n da biz bakal›m de¤il, biz daha fazla neler yapabiliriz üzerinde çal›fl›yoruz. Kopya yapm›yoruz, tamamen kendi tasar›m›m›z, ekibimizle sürekli en iyiyi yapmak için fikir al›flveriflinde bulunarak, tart›flarak ve ciddi bir mesai vererek modellerimizi gelifltiriyoruz. Bu kadar titiz davrand›¤›m›z için de sat›fl sonras› sadece makine teslimi ve kurulum için gidiyoruz; hata, ar›za, flikayet için teknik servisimiz bugüne kadar satt›¤›m›z hiçbir makineye tamire gitmedi, çünkü buna gerek olmad›. Ar-Ge ve Ür-Ge yat›r›mlar›n›z konusunda bilgi alabilir miyiz? TTM olarak makinelerimizin geliflimi, üretimi, sat›fl›, dünya üzerindeki temsilciliklerimiz, Ar-Ge ve Ür-Ge ekiplerimizden oluflan sistemde 3500 kifli çal›fl›yor. Avrupal› makine üreticileri bile 50-100 kifliyle makine üretebiliyorlar. Ama biz dünya genelinde, örgü makinesinin oluflumunda 3500 kiflilik dev bir ekiple çal›fl›yoruz, kimsenin bundan haberi olmad›. Bunun için ma-
re machines with 50-100 people. But we are working with a large team of 3.500 people in the whole world in the production of circular knitting machines and no one heard about it. That’s why we are not tired after the hours we spend in the production as we have a giant team. You need experience and know-how so as to create a good thing. That’s why we have such a huge team. The machines and the work we do are obvious. We do right things. We do not have customers complaining from our machines, they only call us to order new machines. For the time being we manufacture 50 machines on a monthly basis. However for the next year we have started to invest so as to increase our capacity to 200 machines. The most important issue for us in our production concept is not to give the whole responsibility on a single person. We obtain more successful result by distributing the work in between a crowded team. We invest in a staff that promise future and contribute to their selfimprovement. We have. 55 serious engineers and all of them have a separate team. Everyone shares information and we start to do brainstorming to develop a new product. Even if anyone from our team makes a contribution of one word to the issue, we develop this idea and make it a whole page. Solving problems in that sense is easier and faster. We overcome prejudices if people come and visit our plant or examine or machines. We are confident in ourselves as our machines are proving themselves in terms of aesthetics, technology and capacity. Then all people have to do is to take the machine to their plant and operate it. Do you give your machines to companies for trials? We have previously done this if we get good feelings. We have given 6 months of trial period to some of our customers. At the end of this period, these customers remitted their payments on time and ordered new machines, too. However, there are also some companies that they do not wish to make the payments although everything is ok. Then we tell them which companies use our machines and inform them to visit and examine the machine. We also tell them to try the machine by having

Üretim anlay›fl›m›zda en dikkat etti¤imiz konu, bir kifli üzerinde tüm sorumlulu¤u yo¤unlaflt›rm›yoruz, kalabal›k bir ekiple ifl bölümü yaparak daha sa¤l›kl› bir sonuç ç›kar›yoruz. Ifl›k gördü¤ümüz bir arkadafla hemen yat›r›m yap›yoruz ve gelifltiriyoruz, yetifltiriyoruz. 55 tane ciddi mühendisimiz, her birinin de kendi ekipleri var. Herkes birbiriyle bilgi al›fl verifli yap›yor ve bir fley gelifltirmek istedi¤imizde fikir al›flverifline bafll›yoruz. Ekibimizdeki birisinin konuyla ilgili bir kelime dahi katk›s› olsa, bu fikri gelifltirip 1 sayfa yap›yoruz. Sorunlar› çözmek bu anlamda daha kolay ve h›zl› oluyor. Ön yarg›l› bakanlar gelip tesisimizi gezdi¤inde ya da makinelerimizi yak›ndan inceledi¤inde bu yarg›lar›n› afl›yoruz. Çünkü makinelerimiz estetik olarak, teknoloji olarak, kabiliyet olarak kendini anlat›yor zaten. Art›k ona sadece al›p, tesisine götürüp çal›flt›rmas› kal›yor. Makinenizi denemek için kullanmak isteyen firmalara veriyor musunuz? ‹yi elektrik al›rsak, bunu yapt›¤›m›z firmalar oldu. Baz› müflterilerimize 6 ayl›k deneme süreci verdik. Bu zaman sonunda hem ödemesini yapt›, hem de yeni makineler siparifl etti. Fakat baz› firmalar da var, her fley yolunda gitmesine ra¤men ödeme yapmamak için her türlü bahaneyi kullan›yorlar. Biz de diyoruz ki, makinemizi flu firma kullan›yor, git onun makinesini incele, hatta makinesinde fason üretim yapt›r›p dene. Mal›n bozulursa paras›n› biz verelim. Yani makine verece¤imize ham maddenin paras›n› veriyoruz. E¤er ciddiyse bu denemeyi yap›yor ve denemesi sonucunda makine sipariflini veriyor ama ciddi de¤ilse de bu teklifimiz karfl›s›nda vazgeçiyor. Kurulufl hikayenizi anlat›r m›s›n›z? Üretime bafllamak nereden akl›n›za geldi? 20-25 bin kifli Türkiye’de örme ve konfeksiyon sektörüyle geçimini sa¤l›yor. Ciddi bir sektör bu; pamu¤u var, ipli¤i var, boyaterbiye k›sm› var, konfeksiyonu var. Ama bütün bunlar›n yolu, örmeden geçiyor. Bu nedenle örme sanayinin Türk tekstil sektörü için anlam ve önemini biliyoruz. Ayr›ca makine üretimi, zorluklar›na ra¤men kabullendi¤imiz, bildi¤imiz ve isteyerek yapt›¤›m›z bir konu. E¤er yapabilece¤imize inanamasayd›k ve bilgimize güvenmeseydik, sermayemiz ne kadar büyük olursa olsun batard›k. Çünkü bu ifl, çok sermaye gerektiren a¤›r bir ifl-
sub-contracted production. We guarantee to pay their loss in case their products are defected. That is to say that we give the money of the raw material instead of the machine. If the company is serious, they make the payment and at the end of the trial, they order the machine. But if the company is not serious they do not even attempt for a trial. Can you tell us your history of establishment? How did you decide to start production? 20-25 thousand people earn their living from the knitting and apparel industry. This is a serious industry: you have cotton, yarn, and dyeing, finishing, apparel. But all these are passing from knitting. That’s why we know the importance of knitting industry for the Turkish textile industry. In addition the machinery production is something that we accept, know and do with will despite all its difficulties. If we thought that we could not success and did not trust to our knowledge, we would go bankrupt; no matter how large is our capital. This business is a business which requires too much capital. As we said, we have an experienced team with high self-confidence; we set forth by believing that this machine should be manufactured in Turkey. We already dealt with this trade for many years. That’s why we voyaged a lot. We experienced trips for nothing. We got tired. We always covered the expenses ourselves and did not receive anything. This is the most crucial point in our story. We wanted to reverse this situation. Let’s sell, not buy; if we have to put a title as “Let’s reverse import to export”, then the story is formed itself. We put the title and asked ourselves: “What is needed?” A plant, materials, tools, a team, machineries, R&D etc are needed. When you try to put all of them together, you see that a delicious thing is going to occur and then we entered into the business. Deep down, we have to believe that you will succeed and you definitely should have trust to your experience. How does your overseas promotion and sales network operate? We have opened agency offices in Uzbekistan, Bangladesh and Russia by forming our own teams as we thought that costs remained there but these offices stayed dependent to us. We solve problems in permanent settlement. We force our team as the conditions are harsh but they resist and consequently we get successful results. We are fully occupied for 2 years for these markets. We cannot accept new order. Our delivery time for new orders is 2013. These markets demand machineries 5 times more than Turkey. Companies there do not have any prejudice. We are welcomed as kings when we go there; we get our energy and motivation from these countries. We also do good things in our own country but no one stares at you. However elsewhere they say “he teaches me a job, he develops me, and he is my master” and give you importance. We sell them our high quality products and maybe they behave well to us as they do not experience any problems. Because there are some machineries which are broken down, ruined and so on. We do not accept these; we do our job in the best possible way and get our money. Because we put our sales experience to production. We say that we manufacture like clockwork for Turkey, our plant operated 24 hours/365 days but unfortunately we do not serve to Turkey and this disappoints us. Do you participate at ITMA 2011 Exhibition? We wanted to participate for our prestige but our production capacity

tir. Ama biz dedi¤imiz gibi özgüveni yüksek, tecrübesi kan›tlanm›fl bir ekibe sahip oldu¤umuz için, Türkiye’de bu makinenin yap›lmas› gerekti¤ine inanarak yola ç›kt›k. Zaten bu ifllerin y›llarca ticaretini yapt›k, bu yüzden seyahatlere katland›k. Hep bofla seyahatler ve yorgunluklar yaflad›k. Cebimizden veriyorduk ama bize pek bir fley getirmiyordu. Hikayemizdeki can al›c› k›s›m da buydu: bunu tersine çevirmek istedik. Biz almayal›m da satal›m; ithalat› ihracata çevirelim diye bir bafll›k atarsak, o bafll›¤›n alt›nda hikaye kendili¤inden olufluyor. Biz de o bafll›¤› att›k ve dedik ki bunun alt›nda ne laz›m: tesis laz›m, ekip laz›m, aletler laz›m, makineler laz›m, Ar-Ge laz›m, tak›m laz›m vb. Hepsini bir araya getirince bak›yorsunuz ki lezzetli bir fley ç›kacak ve kollar› s›vad›k. Ama bunun özünde kesinlikle tecrübemize olan güvenimiz ve baflar›ya ulaflaca¤›m›za inanmam›z geliyor. Yurtd›fl›ndaki tan›t›m ve sat›fl a¤›n›z nas›l iflliyor? Özbekistan’da, Rusya’da, Bangladefl’te kendi kadrolar›m›z› oluflturup temsilcilik ofislerimizi açt›k. Çünkü maliyetler orada kals›n ama bize ba¤l› olsun amac›n› tafl›yorduk. Orda yerleflik düzende sorunlar› çözüyoruz. fiartlar zor oldu¤u için ekibimizi de biraz zorluyoruz ama buna dayan›yorlar ve bu sebeple ortaya baflar›l› sonuçlar ç›k›yor. Bu pazarlarda 2 y›l doluyuz, yeni siparifl alam›yoruz, yeni siparifller 2013’e tarih veriyoruz. Bu pazarlar, Türkiye’nin 5 kat› makine talep ediyorlar. Oradaki firmalarda hiç ön yarg› yok. Oraya gitti¤imizde kral gibi karfl›lan›p a¤›rlan›yoruz, en büyük enerjimizi ve motivasyonumuzu da buradan al›yoruz. Kendi ülkemizde iyi bir fley yap›yoruz, kimse yü-
is full and we are very busy. We don’t have any search for new customers. As I stated before, we are completely busy for the next 2 years. However, we also thought that it would be good if we were there for advertising. But if decided to go there, we had to spend 15 days time. This means a crucial waste of time for us as we would be behind of our production. Above all, we did not have any time to manufacture a new machine to exhibit at the exhibition. That’s why we cannot be in Spain but we plan to take part in international exhibitions so as to introduce our trademark. We exhibited at Texpo 2011 organized in Tüyap. Next year we will be at ITM Texpo Eurasia. We will exhibit our models in detail at ITM Texpo Eurasia. Wide product portfolio When the production line of TTM Machine, sustaining its activities through total quality management principles, is taken into consideration; you will see Open Width Knitting Machines, Narrow Pus Knitting Machines, Three-Thread Machines, Electronic Jacquard Machine, Towel Machines and Velvet Machines. The manufactured machines provide energy saving for the users and reduce the input costs. The PLC touch screen used makes the operation of the machine easy and enables the quality of the knitted fabric and the fabric strength to be adjusted at the required level without interrupting the machine. Open width on fine: TTM-4 open width machines allow us to work more conveniently with our positive feeding yarn delivery units we have placed in two rows as an optional special design. With PLC and HMI touch screen we use on the machines we produce, we are able to carry out system check, create production report, adjust the shrinkage hardness, check the lubrication and blowing system and take daily production report. As an optional hardware, remote control system can be installed on our machines and any kind of control related to the machines can be ensured through mobile phone and internet.
Prestij için kat›lmak istedik ama üretim kapasitemiz dolu ve ifllerimiz çok yo¤un. Yeni müflteri bulmak gibi bir hedefimiz yok, dedi¤im gibi önümüzdeki 2 y›l boyunca doluyoruz ama orada reklam için var olsak iyi olurdu diye düflündük. Fakat oraya gidersek 15 günlük zaman harcamam›z gerekiyordu. Bizim için önemli bir zaman kayb› olacakt›, üretimimizde kay›p yaflayacakt›k. Bir de program›m›z› bölüp oraya yeni makine üretecek zaman›m›z yoktu. Bu yüzden ‹spanya’ya kat›lam›yoruz ama bundan sonraki uluslararas› fuarlara kat›l›p markam›z› duyurmak ad›na yer almak istiyoruz. Tüyap’taki Texpo 2011 Fuar›’na kat›ld›k, seneye de ITM Texpo Eurasia’da yerimizi alaca¤›z. Orada da modellerimizi kapsaml› olarak sergileyece¤iz.
Tube supreme: By being different from our open end machines, our TTM-1 and TTM-4 tube supreme machines are able to produce circular tube fabrics. A new and strong shrinkage system has been developed by considering the high efficiency of our tube supreme machines. The additional speed control system allows making adjustment from PLC screen for the gears ensuring shrinkage and also allows the shrinkage of the fabric with the required tightness and amount without interrupting the production. Narrow pus tube supreme: Our TTM-1 and TTM-4 models are able to produce between 9”-24” pus according to the requests of our customers and allow working with sizes. In this way, it is possible to produce elastane yarn and plain, seamless underwear with a wide range from kids underwear to big size wear.
