The Mexican Ceramics Festival is a conceptual project celebrating the vibrant Mexican art form of tile and pottery, known for its intricate designs of flowers, human figures, and scenes from daily life. Hosted by the San Antonio Museum of Art, the festival highlights the cultural and historical significance of ceramics in shaping San Antonio’s identity, rooted in the Spanish missions that remain iconic today. Although the original tiles adorning structures like Mission San José are no longer fully visible, their legacy endures through artistic interpretations that inspire this celebration of tradition and community spirit.
The project includes a series of event posters utilizing minimalist, clean, and evocative design principles, ensuring they stand out in the urban landscape. Drawing from hues traditionally associated with Mexican tile art and the vibrant San Antonio Fiesta celebrations, the visual identity incorporates iconic elements like the Rose Window, the Alamo, and the geometric grid system synonymous with traditional tilework. The typography used to craft the brand identity was developed using iconography central to San Antonio’s heritage, further rooting the festival in local culture. Additionally, the tile patterns within the identity are designed to represent the tiles that once decorated the missions of San Antonio, paying homage to their historic significance. These designs create a unified, adaptable brand identity that transitions seamlessly across platforms, from social media to street posters and billboards, making the festival accessible, engaging, and visually compelling. By blending tradition with modernity, the branding fosters a renewed appreciation for Mexican ceramics while building excitement for this grand celebration.
The colors selected for this project were inspired by traditional Mexican ceramic color palettes, dating back to the early days of the San Antonio missions. These hues, reflecting the vibrant tones of nature and the earth’s beauty, are at the heart of this cultural art style.

Aesthetics of Growth was the final project of my undergraduate degree, exploring a visionary future where food research and harvesting traditionally performed by humans converges with automation. This innovative concept leverages the high-speed railway system connecting Texas’s major metropolitan areas to address food scarcity and insecurity on a transformative scale.
The project gained significant recognition, featured in Texas Architect, DeZeen, Toffuco, and widely shared across social media platforms including Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn. The widespread exposure required meticulous curation of the team’s final outputs to ensure the project was presented thoughtfully and comprehensively. This included crafting detailed visuals, renderings, and narratives that effectively communicated the vision, scale, and potential impact of the project to diverse audiences, from architectural professionals to the public.

During my time at Alamo Architects, I contributed to the early development of a mixed-use housing and retail project located in the heart of San Antonio, adjacent to the historic Mission San José. At this preliminary stage, the project required a compelling narrative to guide client presentations, connecting the site to its rich historical context and its role in the evolving social, political, and cultural landscape of the region. The presentation materials featured a series of thoughtfully curated slides, including maps overlaid with historical data to highlight prior land ownership, the influence of the missions, and significant landscape features.
Historical images were integrated to reinforce the importance of the project’s historical focus, illustrating the deep connections between the site and San Antonio’s heritage. These visual elements supported the narrative, emphasizing the project’s sensitivity to its surroundings and its potential to honor the cultural legacy of Mission San José. This experience honed my ability to weave historical context into architectural storytelling, creating presentations that balanced technical precision with a strong sense of place and purpose.
While working with Habitat for Humanity Bryan/College Station, I contributed to reimagining the organization’s branding materials, aiming to break away from the conventional, corporate, and often outdated style of typical Habitat resources. The goal was to create engaging and approachable printed materials that enhanced the volunteer experience while establishing a unique identity for the local branch. Using minimalist design principles, soft color palettes, and clean yet bold typefaces, I developed
materials inspired by Swedish-style DIY construction manuals. These user-friendly documents provided volunteers with clear, easy-to-read construction instructions, making their tasks more accessible and enjoyable. Additionally, quick guides for new volunteers were designed with the same aesthetic, presenting information on the organization’s operations, guidelines, and best practices in a visually appealing and interactive format. The success of these designs extended beyond volunteer engagement. Their impact was so wellreceived that the same principles were applied to the development of proposed neighborhood planning documents. These materials, designed for prospective Habitat for Humanity projects, were presented to the advisory board of the Bryan/College Station branch, further demonstrating the versatility and effectiveness of the new branding approach.

I find a certain beauty in the ordinary. The ability to capture a singular moment, unbothered by the past or the future, frozen in the passage of time. Photographs, even those composed loosely, become artifacts of life that intrigue and inspire me endlessly. Each image preserves a fleeting moment, offering a vibrant portrait of life and energy suspended in stillness. This curated collection features photographs from a recent shoot across the urban landscape of San Antonio, showcasing its rich tapestry of history, modernity, artistry, and decay.
From the historical to the contemporary, the artistic to the broken-down, each subject sits still in its own unique state of being. In the instant I press the shutter, that fleeting moment is transformed into something timeless, a quiet yet powerful reflection of its presence. My photography seeks to elevate the ordinary, celebrating the beauty of our built environment. Through stills of unassuming yet striking subjects, I aim to personify their grand presence and honor their enduring impact on the social and historical fabric of the world around us.
