Born Rose Short on September 28, 1984 in Fort Polk, Louisiana, entertainer Rose is no stranger to tenacity and living her passion for her craft as a Singer, Songwriter, Producer and Actress. Her first performance at age five in Berlin, Germany was the song “I Love Your Smile” by Shanice. That performance later opened the doors of favor for Rose to perform for the Post Commander. At the age of seven she had the amazing experience to perform with the Pointer Sisters. She remained actively pursuing opportunities to perform and strengthen her talents in her teen years. She won a talent pageant scholarship for the Shriners Club, crowned Queen Nubia, and is the Founder of the Gospel Choir at Harker Heights High School.

Rose has shared the stage with renowned modern musical artists such as Pretty Ricky, Case, and Bobby Valentino. Her sound is described as being mezzo-soprano charged with a soulful influence carrying listeners beyond mesmerizing lyrics, and into a place soaring with deep emotional harmony.

In 2004, Rose won the K-104 sponsored talent competition, Texas Idol in Dallas, which presented her the opportunity to record her first professional demo. A year later, she was requested to sing at the Texas Summer Music Conference in Dallas, where she performed music she had written and composed. At the end of her performance, her audience’s response proved what she had known all along; being on stage was where she was destined to be. Later that fall, Rose auditioned for American Idol and successfully made it all the way to Hollywood Week. Rose is a self trained singer who followed the music of soulful artists such as Aretha Franklin and Mary J. Blige to help harness her fanatical vocal flexibility. In 2007, Rose’s childhood dream came true. She had the distinguished honor to demonstrate her love for music on stage at the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem, where she held a 3-week winning streak on amateur night.

Rose avidly stays connected to music and her craft through bookings and performances. She is currently working on her EP, and singing when and where the opportunity arises. She says, “I want to be able to share my gift; a gift the Creator Himself has blessed me with, to share with the entire world.
