Now move forward soldier! Rev. Darnell Johnson MVP Ministries JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION In January 1863 the Emancipation Proclamation was declared. This legal document said that all slaves were free. But in Texas, someone kept it a secret. They didn’t tell us that we were free. So for a couple of years after the Emancipation Proclamation we were still in bondage. We were acting like slaves because no one told us we were free. In fact, we were so glad that someone told us we made a holiday after the date for African Americans to celebrate, called Juneteenth. Thank God someone told us. if nobody would have told us the good news we would have stayed in slavery much longer. Jesus Christ, on Calvary two thousand years ago signed your Emancipation Proclamation. He declared that you are free, but Satan is trying to keep you from coming to the realization that you don’t have to be a slave to sin. You don’t have to say yes sir to sin’s command, you are free. You can move on with your life. Today you can start living in freedom by the Power of the Holy Spirit. If the son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36) Michael Unit
