A Celebration of Rosh Hashanah Around the World for Families with Children
By Stacey Frishman Delcau, Director of Education
On the 2nd day of Rosh Hashanah, our JRM and BFRS staff invite all families with children to join us at Aubrey Davis Park on Mercer Island for a morning of activities, celebrations, and song. The theme of the morning will focus on how Jewish communities around the world celebrate Rosh Hashanah in similar and different ways.

The past few years since COVID have shifted the way our congregants celebrate the High Holidays. We are finding that more families want to have an experience together in community with other families rather than our previous drop-off children’s programming. Building on the success of our end-of-year picnic for BFRS and JRM families, our entire education staff is working to craft a program that engages families together with their children while building and strengthening our greater Temple community.
Travel around the world with us as we celebrate the “birthday of the world” through song, a special Tashlich ceremony, a story walk, crafts, and an interactive Torah story. Activities will be targeted to ages 2-10, but we welcome all children who are a part of our Temple community.
