When Britton Steele, CEO and founder of Provision Insurance Group, started his business, he recognized that he needed to do more than merely provide great insurance rates to his clients. To separate himself, he devised a strategy that would raise the bar on customer experience while also delivering the best quotes. Britton knew the first step to making his success possible would be the investment in his team. “I began creating stable career opportunities for my group,” he said. “I wanted to elevate my team in ways that built solid internal relationships and confidence in their work — people will always do more than what’s expected when they feel appreciated.”

Knowing that making the team work would be paramount to making the dream work, Britton and his team created, met and even exceeded their goals. For the third consecutive year, they were recognized by Inc. magazine as an Inc. 5000 — a list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. “We’ve accomplished this, among many other successes, due to the culture we embody,” Britton said.

“What my team and I have built together has sculpted my character in return,” Britton shared. “I’ve learned something from each challenge, and I’m inspired by the individuals who have been with me on this journey.” Together, Britton said his team has challenged the industry in unique ways that reinforced their determination and desire to deliver excellence. “It may sound cheesy, but I love my team, and I find coming to work every day very fulfilling. It’s a fun atmosphere because we are all driven, yet we know how to enjoy life.”

Located in Bingham Farms, Michigan, Provision Insurance is a Michigan-based insurance brokerage firm dedicated to finding their customers the optimal policy. They shop all major carriers to give their clients the most affordable and substantial coverage options available on the market. Provision supports those who are self-employed, uninsured, need coverage for employees or turned down by other carriers.

“In my work as an insurance agent, I see a need to build a bridge: to help families, businesses and individuals connect to affordable coverage,” Britton said. “What truly makes Provision Insurance different is our inquisitive approach to improvement — asking how we can do better for our clients again and again. We’re continuously looking for new paths, new technology and new ways to serve each family.”

In addition to the company’s focus on building solid teams and loyal clients, Provision offers real estate agents the ability to receive commissions for client referrals. “With applicable licenses, we are able to pay new and renewal commissions,” Britton said. “We have partnered with some of the largest real estate firms to help build this program, and it’s proven to be very successful for additional income streams, especially for high volume agents.”

Britton wants to be remembered for giving people a chance to grow beyond their own limitations. “I truly believe that every person can accomplish financial security and freedom, and I am here to be a platform for that,” he said. “I define success as a state of being. It’s not a singular accomplishment — it’s a set of actions, behaviors and beliefs centered on the idea that I am here to serve others and continuously lift them up. At the end of the day, it’s not about me; it’s about how others are growing around me.”

Today, Provision serves over 20,000 customers across all 50 states. As they continue to deliver excellence to every customer, Britton looks forward to seeing what the future holds for his team and business.
