Kyle Matta’s work ethic and drive for success traces back to his first job — and first paycheck — at the age of 14. “My parents made me get a job at a young age, which taught me that I needed to work to get what I want,” Kyle said. “Ever since, I have been building on that work ethic — it drives me every single day.”
Kyle’s industrious nature incited his passion for entrepreneurship and eventually led to the establishment of his car detailing business and snow removal company in Downtown Rochester. As a result, Kyle learned the ins and outs of owning and operating his own business at a young age, and he also developed a lot of invaluable customer service skills. “My business — and all the learning experiences that came along with it — definitely was a stepping stone to my successful career in real estate,” he said.
After about four years, Kyle was ready to take the next step in his professional path, and that step just so happened to be prompted by a job posting in the window of CENTURY 21 Sakmar & Associates. “When I saw the ad, I thought, ‘why not me?’” he said. “I then took a leap of faith and dedicated myself to learning and pursuing the path of real estate.”

In late 2015, 23-year-old Kyle commenced his full-time real estate career and hit the ground running, closing his first deal within a few weeks. Early on, Kyle’s biggest challenge was getting his foot in the door at listing interviews. “I had potential clients close the door after seeing me in person and tell me I did not have the expertise for the job,” Kyle said. “That quickly changed once I had the opportunity to prove myself, and I was successful from that point forward.”
In 2016, Kyle reached CENTURY 21 Platinum status, and he continued to climb the production ladder in the years that followed, earning Emerald level in 2017, Masters Emerald in 2018 and CENTURION® Producer in 2019. In 2020, after selling over $25 million, Kyle became a Double CENTURION®
Producer as well as the #2 CENTURY 21 producer in Michigan. To date, his career volume exceeds $64 million.
“I am in competition with myself to strive for greatness, and my commitment to professional development is something that happens every single day,” Kyle said. “Real estate keeps self-improvement and progress at the forefront of my mind — with the ever-changing market and the diversity of clients, the learning never stops no matter how long you’ve been in the business.”
Kyle says that his solid foundation and noteworthy advancement in real estate stem from his relationship with Andy Sakmar. “Andy was — and still is — the best mentor in real estate and life,” Kyle shared. “He took me under his wing, provided me with so much industry knowledge and taught me that the first step to success is taking pride in your honesty and integrity.”
As an associate broker at CENTURY 21 Sakmar & Associates, Kyle flies solo, but he hopes to establish a team and expand his business in the future. “What I am most passionate about in my business is knowing that the sky’s the limit for me, and with that, I’m working every day to enrich myself and others in the real estate community.”
Kyle and Marionna, his wife of two and a half years, enjoy cooking, traveling and “doing spontaneous things” such as skydiving in Kauai, Hawaii, during their honeymoon and taking an impromptu trip to Bora Bora where they swam with a 40-foot humpback whale in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean.
When he’s not adventuring away from home, Kyle likes to listen to classic rock, play hockey, get together with family and friends, and spend time with Barron, their 105-pound, long-haired German Shepherd who loves outdoor time and playing in the sprinklers. Most excitingly, the Mattas are expecting their first child — a boy. “We can’t wait to take on the next chapter of our lives as we get ready to become parents,” Kyle said. Kyle also supports Wicked Awesome Wishes and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of his best friend who died of cancer in 2010.

Kyle greatly appreciates the flexibility of his career. “Having the freedom to work from anywhere in the world at any given time is certainly a bonus, because, after all, real estate never sleeps,” he said. He also says that being his own boss and creating his own success is one of the best aspects of real estate.
Each day, Kyle, who is now 28 years old, is proud of all the accomplishments he has achieved at such a young age and feels blessed to have helped so many families — especially first-time homebuyers — successfully navigate one of life’s biggest transactions. “I put my clients first: I always have their best interests in mind and take my job incredibly seriously,” he said. “I will go above and beyond the job to make sure my clients are satisfied.”
Kyle encourages up-and-coming real estate professionals to always remember that “what you put in is what you will get out.” He also advises them to swallow their fear about working independently to make things happen. “Don’t be afraid to stop and celebrate those small successes along the way,” he said. “Looking at the bigger picture will help you pave your path to success.”
