SUMMARY [868J TALBOT Gilbert, alias John Foster, 19 +, younger son of John, Earl of Shrewsbury, and Mary Fortescue his first wife, born in Oxfordshire, brought up in Oxfordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire etc., always under the care of Jesuits. Has 2 half-brothers and a half-sister, all Catholics. Studied in the Jesuit house at Antwerp, and 2t years at St. Omers; has finished Syntax. Mainly healthy. Always a Catholic. Left England 1644, has come to Rome to gain the Jubilee and see the magnificence of the city. Has no desire to be an ecclesiastic. [Admitted 22 January 1650J [869J
