How do TAUW Partner Agencies help?

Full-time employment does not guarantee a living wage. An estimated half of TAUW area residents live in households not earning a living wage. Many rely on public and/or private assistance to maintain a basic standard of living.

TAUW Nonprofit Partners help fill the gap.

With the help of TAUW funding, many Tulsa area Nonprofits provide services to promote financial stability for tens of thousands of area residents, some of whom may even be your employees. Services include nutritional and housing assistance, job training and employment opportunities, early childhood education and school success support, health care and prescription assistance, financial counseling, and more.

For example, during 2023…

 Broken Arrow Neighbors provided rental and utility assistance for a total of $63,265 to help the people it serves. It also provided a combined 299,567 pounds of fresh produce through its client-choice food pantry and outreach programs, serving 67,129 individuals.

 Three TAUW Social Innovations Grants projects brought together 27 organizations to create a more coordinated, robust, and immediate response to food insecurity across Tulsa County.

 Center for Employment Opportunities facilitated 132 job placements with over 70 employment partners. And 236 individuals gained hands-on paid work experience and job coaching.

 The Tulsa Day Center provided homeless prevention services to 1,745 clients enabling them to avoid the trauma of homelessness. It also provided 6,966 medical services to 2,243 clients, providing support on their journey to stability and self-sufficiency
