Tauber Alums Make a Lasting Impact
The Tauber Institute philosophy reverberates across industry through our dynamic community of alums. Our alums are at the forefront of advances in logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, supply chain, technology, and so much more.
Tauber alums make a positive impact on the practice of operations worldwide, and they give back to the next generation of students. They provide financial support through the annual Tauber Alumni Scholarship awards, routinely offer insightful advice and student mentorship, and have become some of our strongest team project champions. Alum contributions to the Tauber experience ensure that we continue to be the ‘Leaders & Best’ in the field of Operations.

I think being part of EGL and Tauber is the most rewarding thing I’ve done in all of my time at Michigan. At the beginning, I was a little bit hesitant. My major is biomedical engineering. I have nothing to do with operations, but everything has to do with operations, and all of the leadership skills you develop are so vital and will be with me for the rest of my career. I’ve never been involved in a program that’s as invested in me as the people in Tauber and the people at Ford and Microsoft, so I’m really grateful for this opportunity, and I would recommend this to anybody regardless of their major.

MANY THANKS to the numerous alums who contribute to the education, employment, and well-being of Tauber students. A special shout out this year to Sarah Klemsz (MSCM ‘15), Almira Dogruyol (EGL BSE/MSE IOE ‘20), Jeff Dillaman (MBA ‘16), Kartik Raju (MBA ‘19), and Moses Pezarkar (MSE MEng ‘18) who sponsored or supervised our 2023 team projects.
The Tauber project is a great way to learn and grow. You have a great partner to work with. You have great teammates. You also have really great sponsors and advisors. There's just so much insight and investment in you, so it’s a great way to step in, leap of faith, and watch yourself grow.

I loved living in Seattle for the summer. Exploring the city, exploring nature was fantastic for work. It was a truly incredible opportunity to go from being someone who had worked as a software engineer to really functioning on that management level. It really speaks to how incredible and impactful these Tauber projects can be that two people coming out of undergrad really early in our careers, are talking to executive directors and vice presidents on a daily basis. We really have to be elevated and put on that higher level of management to inform real change up here.

Developing a community with my peers in Tauber has been one of the most fun and rewarding efforts that I have been a part of over my time at Michigan.
