We recognized and promoted operations excellence.
A panel of Tauber Institute business and engineering faculty selected the 54th annual TIME Dealer of the Year Award finalists from each of the four National Automobile Dealer Association regions and also the national award winner. In appreciation, TIME and Ally have established an annual scholarship at the Tauber Institute in the name of TIME, Ally, NADA, and the Dealer of the Year nominees.
The TIME Dealer of the Year Award is considered the most prestigious honor a new car dealer can receive, with fifty new car dealers – out of more than 16,000 dealers nationwide –nominated for the award. Tauber Institute faculty evaluated competitors on the business practices in their dealerships and on their contributions to their community.

Congratulations to 2023 TIME Dealer of the Year Gary Rome, president of Gary Rome Hyundai and Gary Rome Kia, in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
The 14th annual Global Operations Conference (GOC), organized by Tauber students, brought together leaders in industry and academia to discuss "Operations in Unexpected Industries. The conference was held December 1-2 at the Michigan Ross School of Business, Roberson Auditorium.



The GOC featured views from experts in leading industries on Healthcare, Sports & Entertainment, Energy, and Technology. The panelist included:
• Healthcare Panel: Digital Transformation of Supply Chain, Staffing, Scheduling, and Patient Flow (Mayo Clinic, Firefly Health, Henry Ford Health, Michigan Medicine, and Health Industry Advisor LLC)
• Sports & Entertainment Presentation: Operational Considerations for Building Sports/Entertainment Venues (Rossetti Group)
• Energy Panel: Operational Challenges in the Era of Energy Transition (DTE, Consumers Energy, McKinsey, Form Energy)
The Keynote speaker was Donna Warton, Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Windows + Devices Supply Chain & Sustainability.
