Profile

I am an artist and designer, and my work blends traditional artistic and craft techniques with digital manufacturing methods. Shaped by academic paths and professional experiences in both design, craft, and art, my practice explores themes surrounding the metamorphosis of the human into the transhuman and addresses issues of identity loss, meaning, and belonging in contemporary society. I am also deeply interested in the natural processes of biomimicry, sustainable materials and practices, and how different materials interact with each other, both aesthetically and functionally within an artifact.

Since 2O19 I have been teaching technical and artistic drawing in Rome. In recent years, I have also taught at the Regina Coeli prison in Rome, where I use art and drawing techniques, as well as art therapy approaches.

Previously, I was a research fellow for one year at the Department of Planning in Complex Environments at the Iuav University of Venice. Before that, I conducted a research project at the IPCB laboratories, the Institute of Polymers, Composites, and Biomaterials of the CNR in Pozzuoli (NA). Over the past four years, I have actively participated in a sculpture and ceramics program at the Scuola di Arti e Mestieri in Rome, creating works using various techniques and materials.

Interaction & Human-centered Design Research Fellow

Department of Planning in complex environments at Iuav, University of Venezia Research Coordinator: Professor Andrea Albarelli; Research Manager: Professor Alberto Bassi I explored the quality of human-machine interaction and communication, considering both the upstream and downstream aspects of AI co-design. The research takes into account the ethical dimensions of the project and the critical perspective on contemporary elements of Industry 4.O.

O1.1O.2O17 – 15.O2.2O18

Material Experience Design Researcher

Polymer, Composite and Biomaterials Institute (IPCB) of National Research Council (CNR), Pozzuoli (NA), Italy

This transdisciplinary research in the biomedical sector resulted in Anura, a collection of ornamental and transdermal patches with healing and anti-shock properties, made from biological hydrogels produced using 3D printing techniques. This project, which won the Inarcassa Prize in 2O18, allowed me to deepen my knowledge of the biopolymer field. I conducted research and material testing on biological polymers for transdermal applications, including release tests, usability and durability assessments, adhesion tests, and rapid prototyping of bio-patches using 3D biological desk printers.
