DONATIONS SAVE LIVES

Having the right equipment can save a patient’s life. And sometimes miracles happen. It’s true. Just ask the physicians and nurses in our Cath Lab.

. . .

In November 2015, Patricia Pratt went into cardiac arrest and a team of SAH caregivers worked to continually resuscitate her. A special piece of equipment - an intra-aortic balloon pump - helped keep her alive and stable while she was transported to Sudbury. Without this equipment the cardiac team would not have been able to save her. This life-saving equipment was purchased just months before Patti’s incident. Your donation made the purchase of this equipment possible. Your donation helped save Patti’s life. Your donation matters.

Every year more than 400 patients must travel out of town for treatment. With the proper equipment, these patients could receive care close to home at SAH.

Joe D’Angelo, Manager Diagnostic Imaging Dr. Jenkin, Radiologist

From discovery to recovery, we need to detect the problem before we can treat it. Having the proper equipment is critical in diagnosing our patients.

C T SCANNER NEED The CT Scanner is a vital piece of diagnostic imaging equipment used to diagnose many medical conditions (muscle and bone disorders, location of tumors, infections, blood clots, monitor diseases, detect internal injuries, monitor effectiveness of treatment) $1.9 million is the cost of replacing the CT Scanner.

REALITY SAH conducts approximately 20,000 scans annually. This equipment operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In 2010 when SAH moved to the current facility, the CT Scanner was 5 years old.

FACT The lifespan of CT Scanner is approximately 10 years.
