As your Commissioner for Tarrant County Precinct 1, I am excited to announce our Miles Across the County Community Listening Tour. It is an honor and a privilege to visit communities across our precinct to solicit feedback from our constituents related to issues that matter most to them. Our goal is to ensure that every resident feels SEEN, HEARD, AND VALUED while addressing our community’s needs and priorities. During this tour, we have had the opportunity to visit the Highland Hills, Southwest Fort Worth, Stop Six, Como, and Chisholm Trail communities and we look forward to visiting a community near you very soon!
An issue that that has become of great concern recently to many of our constituents in Tarrant County is redistricting. As you may know, the Commissioners Court voted 3-2 at the April 2nd meeting to hire a Public Interest Legal Foundation to provide consulting services regarding redistricting across that county. It has been my opinion, and it is my hope, that any redistricting process happen with complete transparency and with full community input. It is our responsibility as your elected officials to represent all residents of Tarrant County – not just the ones that agree with us. During this crucial time, it is imperative that all affected residents become involved and be able to participate in this very important process.
Our vision in Precinct 1 is to be a beacon of innovation and excellence in public service. We will continue to cultivate an environment to deliver exceptional programs, opportunities, and services that truly address the diverse needs of our residents. Together we are stronger to establish a longer reach for a more effective and impactful outcome.
I would like to thank you for your continued support of our activities in Tarrant County Precinct 1 and I am truly honored to have the opportunity to represent you.
If you are interested in submitting an article or subscribing to our newsletter, please email us at pct1@tarrantcountytx.gov. We would love to share your event or news with our readers.
Sincerely,
Roderick Miles, Jr. Commissioner

On April 1, 2025, Tarrant County Precinct 1, began the overlay portion of the Triple H Subdivision improvement project. Each monthly newsletter will feature a Precinct 1 resident of the month. This month we will get to know Precinct 1 resident, Josh Friend.
1. I was born in London (UK) and grew up there. After living in Germany, I moved to Fort Worth ten years ago. I am a proud East Side resident!
2. My favorite places in Fort Worth are the Meadowbrook & Eastern Hills neighborhoods where we love to walk.
3. I try to support a number of nonprofits and businesses across Fort Worth, but most recently, I launched the Greater Meadowbrook Alliance. An alliance of neighbors and neighborhoods in a section of the East Side generating community events as well as advocating for essential changes and investments into our neighborhoods to improve the standard of living for all the families who call 'Meadowbrook' home.
4. I hope for my fellow East Side residents (and all of Fort Worth) that our children can gain improved access to educational and recreational activities to build them the brightest future, that healthcare access becomes easier for all those in need and we can build a vibrant community of neighborhoods who celebrate & grieve together, and ultimately look out for one another.
5. Best advice I've received: don't worry about what others think of you, just do unto others as you'd have done to you.
