NOTES This piece was written for a student named Kevin. The King (K) of Epic (E) Validation (V) serves this student well. The validation from this piece comes in the form of multiple time signatures which allow the musicians to achieve a more complex understanding of music. This piece gives each performer a chance at a feature. Providing an opportunity for our students to excel is our highest ambition. The beginning of the piece should be very methodical. Only when the fast 6/4 comes in should there be haste to the piece. Timpani has no tuning changes, but you will need four drums. The brake drum part, while not a feature, should be prominent in balance. Emphasis during the 6/8, 5/8 parts should be pulsed. Enjoy this piece!
