December Birthdays INTEGRITY | SAFETY | CUSTOMER FOCUS | INTENSITY | TRAINING | TEAMWORK

Merry Christmas to you all! I was thinking this morning how envious I am of those of you who still have children at home. It seems like only yesterday that Hunters mother and I experienced... • Countless hours on the NORAD website tracking Santa on Christmas Eve • Being wakened at 4:30am to open presents • Having the movie ‘Christmas Story’ on all day • Cleaning up the mess after opening presents One year I built Hunter a little shed to keep his outdoor toys in. There was an extra, crank open, window left over from our house construction, so I installed it in his shed. That Christmas, I bought Hunter the famed ‘Red Rider’ bee bee gun from the Christmas Story movie. He loved it. One evening that summer I got home from work and saw that the window of his little shed had about 15 holes in it. I went to Hunter and asked him ‘What Happened’? He looked at me with a straight face and said....’It was an accident’.

CONSISTENCY: Consistency is carrying out something the same way, or something staying the same so the outcome is known and predictable. Consistency ties directly into building habits that create positive change. When you're consistent, you build momentum and make progress towards goals.

Share an example (HERE) of consistency at Taplin and how we can be more consistent to win a prize!

REWARD YOURSELF Making big changes isn’t easy. A good reward system can make maintaining those big changes easier. Avoid prizes that sabotage your resolution and progress. Instead, choose rewards that push you toward your goal.
