Yesterday we saw our new President be inaugurated I don’t know about you but a feeling of optimism kind of overtook me.
I am not a huge flag waving patriot I feel countries lay under the sovereignty of God first and that’s where my ultimately loyalty lies. My family follows, my friends and coworkers and probably country right after that However, these last 4 years has left many of us thinking, ‘what in the world is going on, has the world gone mad?’ I won’t get into all the reasons why I feel the way I do about the past 4 years, I’m just glad they are behind us.
The reason I feel optimistic is not because of a man who took an oath yesterday, it is because the people of this country were heard, loud and clear, that we want change I am not a crazy Trump fan and he is just a man – fallible and with his own weaknesses However, he persevered through attacks on him from the federal government like I have never seen in my lifetime. He then made promises during the election process that he acted on yesterday
I believe that most Americans want to make their own way They don’t want to be given anything and are willing to work for their families and livelihood Furthermore, they don’t want the government interfering with their ability to care for their families. As a business owner, I do not need the government to be my enemy by saddling me with overwhelming regulations and costs that drive up my costs, which I in turn pass on to our customers Ultimately, our customers pass these increased costs to their customers which finally leads to you and I paying more for food, energy, entertainment etc..
My brothers and I were taught at a very young age not to be wasteful. Spend wisely, save for a rainy day and do not waste your resources (including your time) on frivolous pursuits When I look at the way our government blows through money irresponsibly, it is infuriated No accountability, no planning for the future and no regard for the money each American citizen ‘donates’ (taxes) on a weekly basis through the work they do. How can they do that?
Yesterday, I felt we turned a corner. (I pray that my feeling is correct). I am excited about what our collective future holds To celebrate this mindset, I am sending out bonuses to everyone 90% of you will be getting a $2,025 00 bonus 10% of you will be getting $202.50. Why the difference? Accountability. If you are getting the $202.50 you need to remember that it’s still a bonus. However, it is your own actions that precluded you from getting the larger bonus Turn your attitude around and get on board with the 90% group, there will be more bonuses as we maintain our success Focus, Accountability, Consistency, Trust, Safety (FACTS) will make us all successful in 2025!

Holy Smokes I touched a nerve Lots of people share my optimism That’s a great thing! And for those of you who may not be so optimistic, that is understandable I think we ’ ve all grown weary of our politicians These politicians need to earn our trust, they’ve all done enough to erode it Hopefully, those that aren’t overly optimistic will at least be able to give this new administration a look I can’t make 160 people happy all the time, I can’t imagine trying to make 330 million people happy
I appreciate all the thanks and very kind words But make no mistake, I am a business man My investments in each of you are made because I care but also because I am looking for a return. The return looks like this:
Reporting to work on time
When you are on call you answer your phone
Taking care of our equipment
Working safely – no injuries
Staying focused on the satisfaction of our customers and the experience they receive working with our company
I will continue to share the bounty, and love doing it. When we all adhere to the above and the F.A.C.T.S. (Focus, Accountability, Consistency, Trust, Safety) we cannot be stopped And then the wheel goes round and round, the company is successful, we share the bounty, the company grows
I know the winter is tough I do understand If you are struggling and have no other resources, please reach out to me I want no one to suffer You will likely get a speech from me about saving money when we are super busy but, I will consider requests for assistance And every day when you are working, especially the IS guys – good work creates more work When we are responsive, on-time, safe and efficient we get called back In other words, we can be in control of our own destiny and work load when we perform well And isn’t that what every American wants to be in control of their own destiny?
Taplin partnered with Enspired Solutions to exhibit at the ARFF Leadership Symposium in early January. The event provided a great opportunity to position our newly offered PFAS Destruction and firetruck decontamination services in front of fire department and airport administrators from across the country
