This center is for mild to moderate cases of Substance Abuse Disorders (SAD). Treating addiction requires not only detoxification, but also preventing relapse. Medications such as methoadone, buprenorphnie and naltrexone act on the same targets in the brain as addictive opioids, suppressing withdrawal symptoms and relieving cravings. Research shows that we can use music, light, color, and nature to target the same neurochemical pathways of the brain and release pleasureinducing chemicals like dopamine and serotonin. We provide staff and nurses trained in de-escalation, counseling, and knowledge treating SAD.

Programmatic zoning

The entire design program for the museum complex was made with a combination of ‘adaptive reuse’of old film studio floors & ‘new developments’catering as allied services.

Disadvantages of Concentrated scheme

Diverse programs are limited to similar exterior expression Diverse programs are molded into a singular shape Landscape and building are distinctly separated.

Advantages of Dispersed scheme

Each program given unique exterior expression Each program given appropriate interior ambience Integrated composition of landscape/building

Design development & massing strategy:

1. The presence of two L-shaped Gabion walls on site act as an enclosure for the house and orients to the scenic view of the pictureesque pawna lake. 2. The entire program for the house is divided into two rectangular volumes, ‘living block‘ & ‘bedroom block‘ oriented at different angles facing the scenic view. 3. Traditional shaded verandah spaces tie the two main rectangular volumes and the ‘gabion’ walls thus forming the entire construct of the house. 4. Front lawns, rear courts and a lap pool act as places for relaxation and contemplation for the client and his family.

The spirit of the proposal is to DIG into the earth. create a construct out of bare BRICK ARCHES.

The entire KUND construct has a stepping surface which becomes a mythical & phenomenological traversal of the levels of time & discovery.

Ground floor planning strategy :

The program of the museum is broadly divided into two levels. The event and public spaces forms the lower level of the museum which anchors the exhibit galleries on the upper level. The lower level also acts as a public/event space zone with areas such as a multi-function hall, classrooms/labs, outdoor exhibits and a cafetaria which form a crescent enveloping the forest space overlooking the harbour.

Gallery level planning strategy :

The upper level of the museum consists of the main exhibition galleries linked with a concourse which acts as a pathway leading the visitors to a continual forest experience.“Voids” are created in the main concourse at various intervals thereby bringing the visitor close to the forest experience. The ‘levitating projection’ consists of a restaurant and retail spaces framing panoramas of the harbour front. The galleries have varying heights to accomodate the artworks of different sizes.

1. Planted roof system : Insulation, energy production, projected use as sculpture gardens and temporary exhibit space. 2. Shell construct : Using cross laminated timber and grided sub-floor construct 3. Over ceiling services / radiant panels / fire-sensors. 4. Suspended open cell timber ceiling with integrated lighting and venting systems - environmental control. 5. Peripheral art hanging / display system : Using intelligent obscure glass panels to display data and interface. 6. Fire rated glass envelope with integrated roller blinds system for lighting control. 7,8 Temperature controlled glazed envelope directly connected to geo-thermal heating system 9. Interior finish open pore hardwood floor resting on an acoustical underlay on CLT panels onto grided sub-floor construct. 10. Under-floor services and climate control 11. Under belly of super structure treated with rough hewn charred timber with integrated lighting and fire-systems. 12. Plot topography to be re-engineered as an authentic forest floor and planted with mosses, lichens and other bryophytes as an under-croft eco-system. 13. Geo-thermal heat pump system integrated within entire column allowing for verical heat radiation 14. Structural construct : Laminated spruce timber columns
