Dear Readers, The first issue of "Flash" is part of history - the second is now in your hands. It is again worthwhile to take a few minutes and find out what‘s new in the Nissen Group. Starting off, I‘d like to thank our customers for their large amount of feedback, their suggestions but also criticism they have expressed. It‘s nice to see that the written word is still carefully read CONTENTS here and there. Page 2 a Plastic safety barriers in Switzerland a Light arrow LP15 sliding board

At least domestically, 2013 has developed into a very good year, despite the never-ending winter and the period of frost lasting far into April. Traditionally, the IFO business index also experiences reliable growth in election years, creating a good "street atmosphere" during federal elections.
However, the other European markets continue to be in the midst of radical change and are suffering under financial constraints in their infrastructure. "International project business is as tough as leather", said one English customer succinctly. The major football event taking place in Brazil in 2014 is also already looming large on the horizon. The CONFED Cup was held at different venues there this summer with an impressive result by the host team in the final against Italy. Nissen was able to successfully set up its "event fence" at match venues for directing streams of traffic and spectators.

Advance LED warning trailer with solar power supply In light of the consistently increasing volume of traffic and the demand for greater safety on the roads, the need for advance warning trailers with active photometric information is becoming larger. Active light guarantees good recognisability compared to conventional sheet metal signs, even in poor visibility. This applies to south Europe, among other places, where the infrastructure is continually growing and the need for traffic safety systems is rising, despite the euro crisis. Because the organisation of construction sites is different in these regions and LED trailers are also used for other specialised purposes, we were tasked to develop an advance LED warning trailer with as long an operating time as possible. In doing so, we used SMD LED, a technology that has been long-established on the market, with power-saving features making it especially suitable for being powered by solar modules. In the selection of solar modules we focused on the highest efficiency rating, making the energy concept completely compatible and autonomous operation possible – depending on the sunshine, of course. From the flexibility afforded by means of freely programmable LED surfaces and configuration for up to four colours, the LED technology gives you the option of using advance warning trailers as information boards at events, or for advertising or PR, besides their intended purpose for traffic control.
