EARN. LIVE. HOPE. NEW BEGINNINGS. I encourage you to join us as we learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow. It’s time to begin a new, to look forward and be grateful. COVID has certainly taught us that what we thought mattered doesn’t necessarily matter and what we perhaps took for granted does.

Art & Culture have always played a major part in nourishing and enriching a community’s soul and having that taken away from us, especially live entertainment, during COVID, has made us appreciate that more than ever. At the end of the day, the value of culture comes down to three words: happiness, togetherness and understanding. We all appreciate the value of culture – to our personal happiness, to our connection with community and to our sense of understanding of the world around us. We all engage in some form of culture – be it painting or praying, bushwalking or baking, playing a sport or learning an instrument. Culture is everything. To quote Australian arts leader, Patrick McIntyre, “Once we are fed and sheltered, everything beyond that is culture.”

31 events, made up of local and touring productions, are on offer across the Capitol Theatre, Tamworth Town Hall and TRECC. Some of these events are rescheduled from 2020 and 2021 and many are new exciting events. There are two great ways to get involved: as a Subscriber or a Member. See page 68 for more information. In 2022 there are great benefits to becoming a member or subscriber; a free ticket to the wonderful double bill, Stardust + The Mission, a free ticket to the Season 2023 Launch and a chance to go in the draw for a ‘Stay and Play’ Package courtesy of CH Boutique Hotel. We are thrilled to offer a season that supports both the wonderful work of Tamworth Regional Conservatorium of Music, Tamworth Dramatic Society, Tamworth Musical Society, Tamworth City Dance Academy, the 2340 Big Band, The Studio, and the Tamworth RSL Brass Band as well as bringing a range of respected artists and companies including, Jonathan Biggins, Rhonda Burchmore, Annalisa Kerrigan, Queenie van de Zandt, CDP Kids, HIT Productions, Ensemble Theatre, Monkey Baa Theatre Company, Erth, Opera Australia and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. At Entertainment Venues, a division of Tamworth Regional Council, we aim to deliver a consistent level of service across the four venues we manage and to ultimately enrich the lives of our community through the performing arts and live entertainment. We are proud that what we do contributes to our city’s soul. Thank you to all our presenting partners, media partners, and to Tamworth Regional Council for its commitment to the performing arts. Finally, thank you for your support and understanding during COVID and your support of the theatre by just buying a ticket and attending a live show.

See it live, see it local!
