the second consecutive year, festival of chemistry ‘Everything is Chemistry, Chemistry is Life’ organized by the ACS Iraq Chapter, was held on 26 November 2018 at the University of Baghdad- College of science for pure science/ Ibn- Al Haitham. The event of this year was the biggest since more than 300 attendee, 160 student, representing 12 talented high schools from Baghdad and around, participated in this event and > 25 staff member and 30 students from the University of Baghdad volunteered to organize and mentoring the event. The festival was a hub that provided fun and opportunity for students to experience chemistry beyond the classroom alongside with scientists in laboratory environment. The main goal of the festival was to promote interest of young students in chemistry and encourage cooperation between the ACS Iraq chapter and educational bodies (universities and schools) in Iraq. All attendees were welcomed to the festival by the Dean of Ibn- Al Haitham college, Prof. Hassan Ahmed Hassan, Prof. Taghreed A-Noor, the chair of ACS Iraq Chapter (festival organiser). The festival included a range of activities started with an opening ceremony and followed by an informative lecture about the ACS, which was given by professor. Dr. Taghreed A-Noor. Following, three talks were given by the head of Chemistry department Prof. Mohammed Al-Jubori and senior staff members covering the key branches of chemistry.
