This year’s recipient, Allison Ranson, will use the financial grant toward her 7 week trip to Israel. Here she will participate in the community of Nazareth Evangelical Theological Seminary, in Nazareth, and engage in several social action projects in the surrounding region.

On April 21st, Tabor celebrated the achievements of the graduating class of 2011. One of the features of the 2011 Graduation was the presentation of the Geoff Morrow Encouragement Award. Geoff Morrow, was a friend of Tabor Adelaide and acted as a mobiliser for Wycliffe Bible Translators Australia for over 30 years. The primary role of Wycliffe Australia is to train and support Australian Christians who wish to live cross culturally and use their skills to give practical assistance to local communities undertaking Bible translation projects or to establish new ones. Geoff had a passion for God and people and wanted others to share that passion, especially cross-culturally. For this reason, following Geoff’s call home to be with the Lord in July 2008, he and the Morrow family, assisted Wycliffe Bible Translators Australia in creating the Geoff Morrow Award. The award is presented to a Tabor Adelaide student majoring in Intercultural Studies, within the Ministry, Theology and Culture school, to provide financial assistance towards a supervised field education trip to a destination of the recipient’s choosing.

Congratulations to Tabor Students Renee Bennet and Claire Richards! Congratulations to Tabor Students, Renee Bennett and Claire Richards, for the release of their picture book Imagine We Were. The children’s book was written by Renee Bennett and illustrated by Claire Richards. For Renee the inspiration for Imagine We Were grew from a Tabor Adelaide writing class. Imagine We Were is an imaginative play on the loving relationships in early childhood. Claire Richards’ illustrations perfectly interpret the text for young readers to explore. What a delightful offering that will be enjoyed over and over. Imagine We Were is published by Wombat Books and will be available in bookshops soon.
