My name is Karin and I have worked as an expert in the field of sexual and reproductive health education for more than 20 years.

My frustration with the lack of interactive and effective evidence-based learning programs for children and adolescents about sexual and reproductive health education, as well as the complex taboos surrounding these topics, led me to found the nonprofit organisation Taboobreaker, to address the lack of modern, play-based tools to help young people enter adulthood safely and confidently.

Play-based and interactive learning experiences in a safe learning environment, guided by professionals and with room for questions, are just as important as directly accessible, age-appropriate digital media.

Research shows that young people are highly motivated to learn about responsible sexual health and develop skills to protect themselves and their futures when learning is presented in a game format.

LOVE LAND combines these elements and aims to help young people make a safe transition into adulthood.

However, this is only possible with the conviction and commitment of other people and organisations who support Taboobreaker in its vision and recognise and realise the potential of play-based and interactive education!

WHY LOVE LAND?

Mental and sexual health is crucial.

THE PROBLEM

At a crucial point in their development, young people in most countries around the world struggle to access sound information about sexual and reproductive health and safety while being exposed to inappropriate digital content.

Many parents do not know how to address these taboo topics. In addition, schools, especially in low-income countries, often lack a modern and comprehensive sexuality education curriculum.

This leads to life-changing consequences such as unwanted pregnancy, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, as well as limitations on personal and economic potential for too many young people around the globe!

OUR SOLUTION

The Taboobreaker association has therefore developed the MULTI-CHANNEL PROGRAM LOVE LAND, including a mobile App, a website and a Train-the-Trainer course.

It is based on a safe, illustrated adventure world (Love Land) with different islands and integrates the great potential of playful and interactive learning.

Love Land has the aim to support young people to safely transition into adulthood and foster their personal, social and economic potential!

Our Train-the-Trainer (TtT) course aims to provide comprehensive training to interested adults and support them in delivering sexual and reproductive health education to young people. The courses are open for adults who:

LOVE LAND MANUAL

The LOVE LAND manual includes all instructions, step by step setup, as well as tips and tricks for successfu l learning sessions.

ADITIONAL RESOURCES THE BOARD GAME

The numerous tutorial videos on our website loveland.game as well as the Love Land app can be integrated into the learning sessions.

The Board Game is played at the end of the learning sessions. The aim is to test the knowledge gained during the sessions in a playful way.
