MISSION REPORT HAWELLA, ETHIOPIA MAY 2018
Dear friends, In May we were in the town of Hawella in the south of Ethiopia. Seven churches were working together for this evangelistic campaign. It is a great pleasure to preach the word of God to people who are so hungry and open. God’s word always has an effect when it is received with faith. Paul calls it the good, sound word and it brings about salvation, healing and deliverance. The greatest creative miracle is the miracle of new birth. In each of the services, a good number of people responded to the altar call and gave their lives to Jesus. Many people additionally testified that they had been healed. One word from God can change your life forever, says Kenneth Copeland. Just speak a word, the centurion said to Jesus, and my servant will be healed. The word of God is the basis for every salvation and every healing. From 13 to 17 June we already have our next evangelistic outreach in Ethiopia. From 4 to 8 July, together with Bishop Waleoke from Nigeria, we will be conducting our first evangelistic campaign in Nigeria. Then Dereje Tafesse, our organizer from Addis Ababa, and I will be in America for two weeks. We are planning to translate into Amharic several study courses by Kenneth Hagin and will be spending time in Tulsa in connection with that. Then we are attending Kenneth Copeland’s conference in Fort Worth, Texas.
From 15 to 19 August we are then planning another campaign deep in the south of Ethiopia near the border with Kenya in the town of Moyale. We are trusting God for more finances in order to be able to do all this. As things stand, this year we will be doing a total of 12 evangelistic outreaches, one more than last year. I would like to thank everyone who has supported us so faithfully. Investing in God’s kingdom is the best thing you can do. If you have eternity in view, you want to do something with your life and money that will last beyond death. These are souls that we are winning for Jesus with our money. Concerning a man who only focused on his earthly wealth, Jesus said: “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God” Luke 12:20–21. I wish you God’s wisdom in all your decisions and a relaxed and blessed summertime!
