The 43Y Cow Family Certainly a cow family that has made its presence known here at WLB. 43Y”s production record is impressive only to be in the process of being out done by her progeny, but then that’s what progressive breeding is about. Our comments on this cow family wouldn’t be complete without complementing our friend and fellow Simmental breeder, Jim Ransom for breeding such a productive female.

You will find selling in this event, 45 descendants of 43Y, representing four generations. We flushed 43Y one time with great success. Yes we probably should have kept doing it but we are a “mom and pop” operation and chose to limit the number of irons we put in the fire. Five 43Y daughters that sell are a result of that flush. A number of the bull and heifer calves on offer are sired by a son born out of that same 43Y flush, WLB Eldorado 3615C. Another daughter of that flush was our high selling heifer calf in our first Internet Heifer Sale. We feel that any of the 43Y daughters are very worthy of ET consideration and would also encourage 43Y’s new owner to maximize their investment through a ET plan. Her natural calves have excelled also. A natural born Bounty Hunter son was a $20,000 high selling bull in 2018 going to Ferme Gagnon, Cheneville, QC. A natural born Riddler daughter was a $16,000 high seller in 2019 going to Quinn Wilson, Calgary, AB. She has clicked with a number of bulls.We consider a 43Y grandson, WLB John Wayne 493G, to not only be a feature in this sale but also among the best we have ever produced(see lot 109). A number of special lots carry his service. It’s easy to see there exists a great opportunity in this cow family but don’t overlook the great opportunity that exists with its matriarch.
