Welcome… To our 10th Annual North of the 49th Bull Sale Unbelievable! This is our 10th sale coming up April 1, 2013. Looking back, starting our first sale in the year of BSE was the best thing we ever did. It wasn’t a barn burner but it got us started. Now the future of the cattle industry looks very bright. An article from the Cattleman’s stated the U.S. cow herd is now down to 1943 levels. If they experience another, even a partial drought, they will drop even further. This will create a huge void in meat production, leaving us the opportunity to try to fill that void. 2013 and beyond are very promising years for our cattle industry. Our photos for 2013 show a family expansion. Conrad and Erica brought Rhea Joan into our family in September. Another grandchild for grandma to spoil! As always we are looking forward to hosting our 10th annual sale and invite everyone to join us for lunch. We appreciate and encourage visitors to drop in, have a coffee, shoot the bull… and maybe look at the bulls. We stand behind each and every bull and guarantee him to do the work he was intended to do. As a celebration of our 10th anniversary, the night before the sale we’ll host a bull previewing and prime rib supper. Come and join us. John

The 10th edition of the North of the 49th will prove to be a source of great genetics for the industry at all levels once again. From the purebred breeder, to the commercial cow/calf producers, to the feeder and the packer, these cattle have been selected and tested to work and be profitable for you. They have ultrasound data, and performance data on the bulls and have done Leptin testing for those looking for that. They stand behind their product with the phrase “bulls guaranteed to work and make you money” and these cattle will. Calving ease, performance, meat, soundness, hair, polled, horned, white, tan or red – you will find it here. If you are looking for something to cover more ground and more cows, they have 20 two year old bulls on offer, I believe this is the largest offering available in Saskatchewan. The JWX prefix has been attached to some industry greats and will continue to be. The homemade pie and hospitality is worth the trip alone. This is a great family and if you don’t know them, you need to meet them. The sale may be April 1st but you will be no fool selecting your next herdsire here. If we can be of any assistance before or on sale day, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We would be happy to help you find a bull that is right for your program.
