Welcome to an exciting era in the livestock industry and a new beginning for Lexi and Shane. Southland Angus has developed from a deeply rooted program established by Ken and Irene, supplied performance sires to producers in the grasslands of Western Canada. As generations change hands, the newly wed couple offers an exciting cross-section of the Southland program and an opportunity to celebrate their new start in life. As the wheel comes full circle, we find that agriculture has evolved into a driving component in the economy, as feeding the world receives more attention daily. The livestock industry is exciting, but this year’s excitement is only the first leg of what will be the richest and most rewarding cycle in the history of beef cattle. Inventories will have to be re-stocked and we believe that the fall of 2011 might well be the last opportunity to purchase affordable replacement stock. We are in a period of low risk and high reward. The offering of Angus breeding cattle selling will suit any program and all budgets.
