We have developed many long lasting friendships and truly treasure these relationships. All of us have a common goal and that is the production of high quality beef for the world. We are passionate about what we do and look forward to helping you to choose a herd sire that will make your program go into the direction you want.

We feel the calves that you raise these next two seasons might be highest value animals to ever sell. Herd numbers are down in North America making the market pay attention to where the beef will come from. Spend some time, do your homework to find the best possible herd sire that will make your bottom line match your expectations.

We know our cows and the sires we are using, they are capable of increasing your profits!

We have an exciting group of bulls for your evaluation. The yearlings are a very strong group and there is an exceptional group of 2 year olds. Herd bull selection is a major decision and producers should be as informed as possible. We welcome all calls and visits to help answer any questions you may have.

The bulls are always available for viewing at the farm anytime. They will be in Virden on Sunday before the sale. Welcome to Bonchuk Farms Annual Spring Bull Sale, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Heartland Livestock, Virden, Manitoba. The Bonchuk operation hosts one of the feature bull sales in Western Canada… they are getting good at it as this is their 23rd annual event. The Bonchuk’s are high in community and family values and truly dedicated to agriculture over many years past. They believe quality product comes with quality customer service and from this principle come many repeat customers… since they know that quality comes with a Bonchuk bull.

It takes a lot of mother cows to produce and offer bulls each spring and bred heifers each fall while building and improving an already powerful cow herd base. The Bonchuk cow herd ranks amongst the finest in the industry… soundness, optimal frame, great udders, fertility, and longevity make the Bonchuk bred cattle predictable.

The 2023 lineup offers many avenues of opportunity. The Red and Black domestics are stout, complete with performance and muscle shape. Hair is important… we find that fact from November to April and every front row in sale barns throughout the country. The Fullbloods are a rugged bunch and will add more pounds at weaning… we wish there were more in the offering. The quality and uniformity runs deep and the diversity of genetics makes this event a bull buyers bonanza.

A meaty 2 year old that has excellent muscling and is ready to go to work. 71J will add dimension, capacity, uniformity and predictability. The dam is a heavy milking female that has been a steady producer.

A useful 2 year old that will cover a lot of cows. This Red Standard son will sire a very uniform calf crop that will be very high maternal and will sire some amazing daughters.

This Limitless son comes from a promising young female that was purchased last year from Twin Brae Simmentals. 73J is smooth shouldered and could be a great candidate for the heifer pen and will sire some great progeny.

This Hitman son is a long bodied wide topped beef bull that is ready for heavy service. The dam is a great uddered, heavy milking female that works hard. 78J will add pounds, predictability, and uniformity to his progeny.

BLCC Mr Revenue

A long spined son of Revenue that will add pounds, performance and longevity to his progeny. 128C is a hard-working cow that gets the job done and is a low maintenance type of female.

Moderate and stout, 86J is an easy fleshing son of Gibsons Finest that boasts maternal greatness, his daughters should be second to none. 16W is an excellent uddered cow that has been a great acquisition for us and continues to produce.

This Red Standard son comes from a powerful Crosby daughter that knows how to raise the bar. 95B has been a great producer of daughters, some being high sellers. This son of hers will be predictable. Great rib shape, width of top and ready to go to work.

ADBS Mr Standard

Another Red Standard son that comes from a hardworking productive female. 109A milks incredibly well, and shows no sign of slowing down at her age. 133J boasts width of top, great rib shape and capacity, and tremendous eye appeal.

A stout beef bull with frame, muscle and substance. Lots of eye appeal and performance come in this package. He certainly will pass on these traits to his offspring. The dam is a hard working female that works hard and passes on these qualities. 146J is ready to go to work.

Mr Commander

Long, wide, big ribbed and full of predictability. 173J is an easy doing beef bull that will make an impact. Great tempered, big footed and has a super maternal side. There is some fleckvieh influence in his pedigree, 173J will sire some great steers, and his daughters should be fantastic.

This Red Standard son should sire a very uniform calf crop and leave daughters that will be top producers. 193J is wide topped, thick made and will be very predictable.

Typical of the Liner progeny 210J is deep sided, easy fleshing, and is full of predictability. Love the top, rib shape, and capacity this meaty herd sire displays. The dam has a very good production record, with many daughters in our program. This bull should be a herd builder.

If you have a big group of heifers to breed, 231J could be a top candidate. Sired by our calving ease sire Affinity, he portrays low birthweight with very respectable performance. The dam is a beautiful young female we really like the looks of.

A great red bull with some stretch and frame. 247J has eye appeal, performance and will sire some great progeny that will push the scales down hard every fall. 268E is a big framed, excellent uddered cow that has done great for us so far.

A tremendous 2 year old. Sired by Braveheart, whose progeny we are more impressed with all the time, and mothered by a great Crosby Red Rock daughter that has been excellent. 298J has incredible top, muscle, rib shape, length, and is full of predictability. His progeny will be outstanding.

Mr Hitman

A herd bull that we feel is very complete. This Hitman’s son has great depth and capacity, excellent muscling and eye appeal, adequate performance, great temperament, and comes from a tremendous producer with a great production record. 284T has many daughters in production here and has been a stellar producer. No guess work here.

BLCC Mr Revenue

A low birth weight Affinity son that will be a great candidate for the heifer pen. The Affinity sired progeny have calved easy and continue to grow after they’re born, and we have been blessed to have some great progeny from him. 12K should be like money in the bank.

Long bodied, stout, great hair coat and backed by a superior female, 48K has style, performance and a great disposition. His excellent uddered dam is a moderate cow that has been big on production.

This non-dilutor Monument son would be a great choice for the heifer pen. Low birth weight, great length of body, and adequate performance. The dam is a great young female that we are really excited about, she has immense volume and a perfect udder, and goes back to one of our great cow families.

If you’re in the business of raising amazing replacement females that you will retain for yourself, this could be a top pick. The Red Rock 152X cow is a female that always gets noticed, she has amazing capacity, udder quality, eye appeal and great footed. 56K will sire some great progeny, but keep every one of his daughters.

Tremendous depth, great hair coat, awesome temperament and great performance makes this Authority grandson stand out. 77K is the type of bull that would sire an amazing set of steers and some great females. 284C is a hard working Momma cow that always gets it done.

His dam is a powerful female that was purchased in the KOPP dispersal, she has been an amazing acquisition that has never had a throw away, always passing on her capacity, temperament and predictability. A half blood bull with some thickness and capacity, great rib shape, low birth weight and adequate performance. 43J will pass on some hybrid vigor and uniformity to his progeny.

Some old school breeding in this individual. 51J is incredibly long bodied and wide topped. If you are needing to add some frame and stretch to your calves, this bull should do it. The dam is an attractive female that was purchased from the Twin Brae program.

A real meat machine best describes 122J. He has incredible muscle and mass, and really makes you take notice. Great width of top and very free moving, he should make a huge impact with his calf crop. The dam is a hard working female that milks very well.

A wide topped, thick made Vision son with the money stripe that will certainly add some thickness, performance and eye appeal to his calves. This bull is ready for heavy service.

A low birthweight Monument son that should work very well in the heifer pen. He started at 82 pounds and has continued to impress. Comes from a beautiful Liner daughter that really did a great job her first time out.

This dark red Battle Cry son started his life small but he’s performed very well and has developed into the impressive herd sire prospect you see now. He was purchased in dam from Black Gold Simmentals, his dam is a great young female that we are really impressed with and looks like one to build a program around. Low birthweight, great performance, and a powerful dam makes 3K an intriguing lot.

A Battle Cry son that is loaded with pigment, style, capacity and eye appeal. 40K looks the part and comes from a beautiful first calver that did a great job her first time out.

Polled Full Fleckvieh. A Western Frontier son that is moderate framed, lots of pigment, adequate thickness and capacity and a great maternal side. The dam is a daughter of our flush cow that impresses us every year. 194K will sire some great progeny, and super replacements.

A Battle Cry son that is a great choice to use in the heifer pen for calving ease and predictability. We have used Battle Cry on our full blood heifers and have been very pleased with the results. 239H is an attractive young female that we are expecting to rise to the top of our full blood program in time.

Full Fleckvieh. A dark red, easy doing son of Silver Lake Dealer that has performance and eye appeal. Silver Lake Dealer has been extremely consistent for us and continues to sire performanceoriented offspring. 306D is a descendant of the 54L cow family that we had so much success with. Lots of predictability here.

Lots of great structure, length, performance, and maternal qualities stacked in this fullblood bull. 313K has no lack of middle and possesses that soggy made style that we love to see. 284A is a great uddered heavy miking female that always gets it done. This bull will make an outstanding herdsire.

A dark red son of Silver Lake Dealer, although younger, has stood up very well along his pen mates, he always draws lots of attention for his shape, style, conformation and eye appeal. The dam 346E makes an honest effort every year. Again, we feel 346K will mature to be an outstanding herdsire.

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

PEDIGREE ESTIMATES

Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such.

HEALTH

All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

GUARANTEE

Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Simmental Association with regards to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

DELIVERY

Shipping assistance will be given in making shipment after sale but sale management or seller assumes no risk. Bonchuk Farms will assist in arranging trucking to central points across Canada. All costs associated with shipping will be the responsibility of the new owner. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

HERD HEALTH

All bred cattle received Express 5 before breeding and Total Herd has been on the Express program for over 10 years, making the ranch BVD-free. Bred heifers also received black leg vaccine before breeding. All pregnant cattle have their first shot of Scour-Bos vaccine and treated with Ivomec.
