J Square S Angus is located south west of Melville Saskatchewan. We farm with my parents Stuart and Kathy who now live in Melville as Jacklyn and our three girls live at the farm. At the moment we seed approximately 4000 acres of crop which consists of wheat, barley, canola, peas and oats. We calve 70 cows and typically breed 100 females in the spring.
Our purebred Black Angus herd was established in 2006 with a purchase of 4 bred heifers from Northern View Angus. In the beginning years many new females were sourced from numerous consignment and dispersal sales. We also retained many replacements females that make our cow herd today. Embryo transfer and artificial insemination have also been tools into advancing our herd to where it is today.
We market our bulls annually either in DLMS Farmgate or by private treaty. For the past 6 years our females have been offered for sale in the Female Focus Sale with our great partners at Hollinger Land and Cattle the second week of December. We also participate in consignment sales in the fall to sell genetic opportunities and select heifer calves.
Jacklyn is a dental hygienist and works off the farm at a office in Yorkton. Our daughters Jayla (11), Scottie (9) and Ally (5) attend school in Melville. The girls are very involved in softball, hockey, figure skating and 4-H. They have also become a huge helping hand around the farm on a day to day basis.
Our family is truly excited to be a host of the Saskatchewan Angus Tour. Alongside our fellow breeders, JJL Livestock, Hollinger Land and Cattle and Northern View Angus we will bring a great display of Angus cattle as well as an exciting atmosphere and hospitality.

Northern View Angus
We are very please to host the Saskatchewan Angus Tour in 2025. It is wonderful to host so many cattle folks and we are proud to show you our cattle here at Northern View Angus. We are located near Duff, SK.
While I was still “principaling” and teaching we kept our herd of cows to a smaller number. The plan was to have 25 cows when I would retire from education in June of 2020. However, this goal was obviously readjusted as Alexis and Talon’s interest in cattle evolved over the years. The farm was a to be a retirement/hobby farming kinda gig but it certainly has become a fulltime deal.
Currently we put out 132 breeding females to pasture and 108 calves. We aim to calve out approximately 110 of females in the 2026. In addition, we have 400 acres of grain and forage land.
Northern View Angus is comprised of Troy, Amy, Alexis and Josh, Talon and Halle, Marlene and Alvin. Northern View began in 1997 as we purchased our first Black Angus pair Beauty 118E and her heifer calf 129G in the spring. That same fall we purchased females from the Fall Finale sale and by private treaty to have 6 Black Angus cows calving in the spring of 1998.
Cattle were always on this mixed farm starting with Herefords, then Simmental and then Saler for a few short years. Bulls were sold off farm and at the East Central Bull Power Sale in Yorkton until 2005. In the spring of 2006, we partnered with Parkwood Farms and Double D Angus to start the 1st Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale. In the spring of 2026, we will be hosting the 20th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale on Saturday, April 11th at Heartland Livestock in Yorkton. We market 25-30 bulls each year at this sale. Bulls are sold after by private treaty too.
Our breeding females are our factory and are very important. We carefully select, retain and purchase females to help our cow herd improve. Each year we retain approximately 15-20 of our own breeding females to keep our herd young and productive. We do market females each year selling an off-farm package of roughly 25 heifer calves at weaning and then selling 2-3 at the Touch of Class in Saskatoon each December.
We do a modest show tour to display our cattle and connect with friends and customers by attending Harvest Showdown in Yorkton and Agribition in Regina each year. One of the things we love to do is be involved with youth in agriculture. We are involved in Agriculture in the Classroom, participate in various 4H achievement days and work with Jr.’s at shows… Gives me my education fix while working in Ag.
Our tour group has been a wonderful like-minded group to work with in planning this event. Thanks to JJL, J Square and HLC for their work to pull off this tour.
We are very appreciative of everyone who had expressed interested in our program, toured our herd and to those that supported our program. An invitation to come for a “Northern View Experience” is always open. Just call.
Thank you to our customers/friends and our family for all you have done for use. This is truly a people business and without you all we do not exist. We are eternally grateful. Enjoy the tour.
Welcome from our family! We are Jarret, Jenna, Ava and Cade Loveridge and together we own and operate JJL Livestock. Our home is situated 10 miles west of Melville SK. Jarret works for CN Rail and Jenna works as a livestock and lifestyle photographer. Ava will be attending the University of Saskatchewan this fall to work towards her Bachelor of Education Degree and Cade will be entering Grade 10 this fall and is an avid farmer, fisherman, hunter, carpenter and football player.
Our farm was established in 2003 with the purchase of 20 Red Angus females from Jenna’s family farm, Riverdale Stock Farm, Dale and Cathy Piller. The majority of the females we have to this day stem back to those original cows and trace way back to the Six Mile Red Angus cow herd.
We calve around 50 registered Red Angus and Angus females each year. When selecting our herd sires, we are critical of the mother cow behind the bull as well as the entire cow herd base they come from. Consistency and basic but necessary traits such as udder, foot and scrotal as well as fertility and milk quality are always a focus. We are also strict on temperament and when possible, we like to keep the dark red color and a black foot within our cow herd.
We market our bulls privately each spring and sell select females throughout various sales each year. Watch for details on a new bull sale format as well as an elite offering of females we are excited to share this fall!
We are happy to host you for a day of Angus fellowship alongside our fellow cattleman and neighbors, J Square S Angus, Northern View Angus and Hollinger Land & Cattle.
We understand that it is never easy to get away from the daily work but we hope that you can take the time to join us and have a day to relax, enjoy some hospitality and of course view some great Angus cattle!
