We are very excited to reignite the Southland Bull Sale. The past 5 years we have been rigorously putting together a herd of cows that could lead us to this bull sale. Using heavy ET work and sourcing breed leading genetics, the Southland herd is one we’re very proud of.

Using actual performance and genomic data, we are trying to give our customers as much information as we can to make an informed purchasing decision. As always, phenotype and structure, backed by a strong cow herd, have and will always be our main focus.

Whether you need a bull or not, we would love to have everyone stop by the farm for a visit or show up sale day for lunch and refreshments.

Welcome to Southland Angus/Charolais Annual Bull sale, March 3, 2023 at Heartland Livestock, Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The Cadieux family present a stout offering of Angus and Charolais Bulls to enhance your breeding pastures. The lineup is unique combining performance with high maternal values all in one sale… you can take care of your breeding intentions all in one day.

In the Angus offering are four stout two-year-olds who will cover plenty of rough terrain and more cows. The sire group by the Guarantee bull offers consistency , with performance and tons of calving ease. You can count on the daughters being front end replacement females in the years to come.

The Charolais section leads with sons of Bellringer who is a son of the super-cow Starstruck; Serenty adds calving ease; Fireball is a son of the performance leader DutyFree and the new outcross sire at Southland – Benaiah!

The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Certificate of Registration:

Each registered animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Angus Association or the Charolais Charolais Association, unless otherwise indicated. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made

Guarantee:

Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Angus Association or the Charolais Charolais Association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness. All cattle are sold sound and right with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of an unlikely dispute the terms and conditions standard with the Canadian Angus Association and Canadian Charolais Association shall apply. All bulls are guaranteed exportable. Southland will incur the cost of health work. All bulls are guaranteed to pass a semen test prior to delivery. All decision deferred bulls will come back to Southland free of charge until a satisfactory breeding soundness evaluation is achieved.

Liabilities:

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made hereunder.

Insurance:

We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.

Errors:

All announcements at sale time, written or oral, supercede any written material in the catalogue. The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, or E-Transfer payable at Par. The right of property shall not pass until settlement is made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder, and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. All settlement is made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian Funds.

Delivery:

Any bulls paid for and picked up sale day will receive a $100 discount per bull. Delivery will begin the last week of March. Bulls will be fed for free up to the time delivery begins. Purchasers must take delivery of their bull(s) at the time Southland is in their general area. Any purchasers unable to take delivery of their bull(s) at this time will forfeit the free delivery, and will be charged $8/head/day. Pick up will then be the responsibilty of the purchaser.
