FULLBLOOD, RED & BLACK SIMMENTAL FEMALES
THURSDAY , DECEMBER 11, 2025
1 PM CST - JOHNSTONE AUCTION MART , MOOSE JAW , SASKATCHEWAN
Welcome to the 48th Annual Simmsational sale. What a great time to be in the cattle business. With the record high prices, we are seeing the $$$ values being put both on Purebred cattle and Commercial Livestock has to be exciting times for producers.
Congratulations to the long-time breeding establishments that have been part of this great sale for numerous years. Once again, we have a few new breeding operations that well be cosigning to the 48th Annual Simmsational sale. The quality of cattle runs very deep from front cover to back cover.
The set of bred heifers is powerful and second to none. Females that represent the Simmental breed very well. Females that have the capability of being herd builders and foundation genetics in the Simmental industry, now and in the future. The select group of fancy open heifer calves is equally impressive and well, definitely have their place in the industry as they mature into momma cows. The cattle on offer are among some of the best in the breed. The offering of cattle is right for the times and are the type the industry is wanting.
On behalf of the team at Transcon and the group of consigners, we invite you to join us in Moose Jaw on Thursday December 11th. Come view the cattle prior to sale day. In the event you are unable to attend the sale but would like to purchase cattle give one of us a call on the Transcon team and we will answer any questions you may have. You can purchase through our highly trusted, confidential and non-biased order buying service.

Welcome to Simmsational 2025 at Johnstone Auction Mart, Moose Jaw, Sask. On Thursday, December 11th, the 48th edition of Simmsational of which we’ve attended every one of them. The livestock industry is receiving record prices for cows, bulls and calves this fall. With steer calves bringing up to $4000. Good commercial open replacement heifer calves up to $4500. What are those top end bred heifer sales going to bring this fall and winter?

We will be offering our usual 10 bred heifers again at Simmsational headed by a beautiful Caliber female that is a full sister to IPU 30-60 47K, a very popular and high selling bull in our 2023 bull sale selling to Crossroad Farms at Shell Lake, Sask, followed by four red bred top quality heifers, all homo polled, two solid reds and two red baldies. The fullblood division is headed by three polled females bred to the outstanding calving ease, high quality progeny, Kuntz North Star bull. His first calf crop is truly outstanding.
Come join us at Johnston Auction Mart on Thursday, December 11th for the 48th Annual Simmsational Sale headed by some great cattle, great people and super hospitality. From all of us at LaBatte Simmentals, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year filled with good health, prosperity, happiness and Simmental Cattle.

Homo Polled. Hetero Black Purebred. A true sale feature: a full sister to IPU 30-60 47K, our feature Bull and high seller in our 2023 Bull sales selling to Crossroad Farms for $65,000. Claimed by many as maybe the best Caliber son to sell that year. Callie 61M herself is a beautiful heifer, so deep ribbed, angular, broody, feminine, just a front pasture cow that could head your donor program. Her mother, a LOTTO daughter just kept raising outstanding calves, ten in a row of high quality bulls and females including 3006, IPU Resolve-herdbull for Deeg Simmentals, 2 bulls to top commercial operations in South Dakota, heifer to Springcreek Simmentals, Agland Farms and Allbrecht Farms. Just an amazing producing cow. Callie 61M might be her best effort yet and bred to the popular slider son Ultra Tokyo Rose 17M bull as an added bonus.
Bred: April 21 to Ultra Tokyo Rose 17M CSA#1490182 Exposed May 2 to June 2 to Brooking Best Answer 3103 Canan #2309209 Vets opinion safe to A.I.

Homo Polled. Homo Black Purebred.
Another feature Caliber heifer out of an outstanding IPU Bentley 81F daughter. If we were picking our top 5 black cows 89M’s mother would be one of them. Ms. Sierra 89M is beautiful made, deep, angular, setting up as a beautiful udder like her mother and is a brood cow in the making. Another that could enter in a donor program. Mated to the $220,000 Greenwood Revenue 175M bull. As you know we have started a half blood program as our commercial buyers are asking for and we picked this elite heifer as one to build around. 89M is homo polled and homo black and homo good.
Bred: Apr 26 – Greenwood Revenue 175M Exposed Brooking Best Answer 3103 – Canan #2309209 May 2 to June 2. Vets opinion safe to A.I.

Homo Polled. Homo Black 3/4 Blood.
A soggy Hannibal heifer that follows the pattern of our first two heifers. Deep, broody, angular, just going to make a tremendous cow. And mated to that exciting KT Disco 4065 bull that was the $80,000 high selling Simmental bull at the KT Bull sale this spring. We’re really excited about this bull as we think he’s one of the best bulls we’ve ever purchased. Be on the ground floor of the Disco rave.
Bred: Mar 31 – KT Disco 4065 – CSA #1499135 Exposed May 2 to June 2 to Kuntz North Star 15L Safe to A.I.

Homo Polled Red Purebred
An outstanding potent daughter to start off our red section. All summer in the pasture you’d be driving through the heifers and you’d stop and say “who’s that heifer” and it would be 209M most of the time. She’s cherry red in color, deep, angular, setting a great udder like her mother, just a brood cow in the making. I would wish for a whole herd of bred heifers that just look like her. A homo polled, dark red heifer with loads of potential, the kind that raise herd bulls.
Bred: Apr 17th – WBL Top Tier 456G CSA #1288193. Exposed to Kuntz North Star 15L May 2 to June 2, safe to A.I.

Homo Polled Red Purebred
These potent daughters are like peas in a pod. Broody, good uddered and produce. 131M’s mother is a good ½ fleck red factor cow we purchased from Neal Carson, Northern Light Simmentals as an open heifer. This is her fourth progeny selling out of Johnstone Auction Mart. 131M is homo polled and bred early to the exciting red baldy bull, Eight Ball, a red factor purebred Hannibal bull. The resulting calf would be very saleable.
Bred: March 31st to Wepplers Eight Ball 168M CSA #1476150. Exposed to Kuntz North Star 15L May 2 to June 2, safe to A.I.

Homo Polled Red Baldy Purebred
A beautiful easy doing baldy Top Tier daughter that’s about as easy fleshing as they come. As I write this footnote we just turned her out on native pasture to try and get her to slim down a little. She’s the cowboy kind that can look after herself. As I was saying before, her dam, a Potent daughter they can really produce and here’s an example of that with 203M. A super broody heifer with a lot of opportunity!
Bred: Apr 18th to Wepplers Eight Ball 168M – CSA #1476150 Exposed to Kuntz North Star 15L, May 2 to June 2, safe to A.I.

Polled Red Baldy Purebred. Homo Test Pending.
A dark red baldy heifer out of the popular Deeg El Dorado 81K bull who sons crested quite a stir at this spring’s bull sales. She’s out of a really nice baldy Brooks cow with a beautiful udder. 082M herself is setting up a really great udder, she’s smooth made, lots of eye appeal and bred early to the popular Mountain View Bull who makes his progeny dark red and good. I’d be hoping for a baldy bull out of this mating.
Bred: March 31st to WFL Mountain View 4J – CSA #1360297 Exposed Kuntz North Star 15L – May 2 to June 2 – Safe to A.I.

Polled/Scurred Fullblood - Diluter Test Pending
An exceptional KSL Kilipso daughter out of a first calving. Black Gold Elevation daughter that is super good. 90M is polled scurred, dark red, huge goggles, setting up a good udder and is attractive and broody. She’s been a favorite from day one and bred early to the exciting homo polled Kuntz North Star bull.
Bred: Mar 31st – Kuntz North Star 15L CSA #1457977 Exposed to same May 2 to June 2, Safe to A.I.

Hetero Polled. Diluter Free Fullblood.
A real nice made polled Jessie James daughter out of a polled first calving Philosophy daughter going back to a SBSF Connor cow. We used 3 homo polled KSL bulls on our heifers in the 2023 breeding season and they all calved well and left us with some really good calves, KSL Kalipso was one of the bulls as we purchased him, along with Black Gold Simmentals and Oberle Farms. He has really turned out well. 147M will have a polled calf and possibly homo polled which will make it very saleable.
Bred: March 31st – Kuntz North Star 15L CSA #1457977 Exposed to same May 2 to

Polled Fullblood. Diluter Test Pending
A really good Sunny Valley Canon daughter out of a beautiful French Attack Cow. These French Attack cows are some of the best fullbloods made, just ask Dan Skeels about them. 123M is very smooth made, feminine, good uddered and stylish. She is mated early to Kuntz North Star who we are very excited about. Never used a more consistent bull from calving ease, color, performance and style in our fullblood program. They’re like peas in a pod both bulls and heifers. Their worth the trip to come and see. This bull has a great future ahead of him. 123M crossed with North Star should be very exciting and will be guaranteed polled.
Bred: Mar 31st – Kuntz North Star 15L- CSA #1457977 Exposed to same May 2 to June 2. Safe to A.I.

We went back to the past and bred a few heifers to Tess Blk Rampage. He calves very well and maintains good performance. The young Westcott daughter did a very good job on this one. This mild tempered female likes her scratches. And again bred early to Slider may create the next CE masterpiece.
Bred March 20 to Slider (safe in vet opinion) Exposed to Twin Springs Top Tier from Apr 20- June 30.
