CHICAGO NEXT OFFICE SPACE
The goal of this project was to help elevate the NEXT space. NEXT is an independent advertising agency who has offices around the globe. They work with clients in the food industry, footwear, beverage, and stationery industry. This project was designed to have on main client. We were given the task of taking this office and remodeling it to fit the needs of the new NEXT space. COLLABORATION was a key design element for this space. This building was also pivotal to the Chicago Fulton history. This area is known for being a large part of the Chicago meat market. This meant the project needed to point to the importance of this building while also including all of the clients needs.
This project challenged me in new and different ways. This was our first office project and branded space project. Finding ways to serve the clients needs while also creating a cohesive design was a much needed challenge. It allowed me to explore new creative ideas. It also allowed em to find a new love for office design, which is something I had never realized. Each student was also given the task of including space for the one brand we were given. This meant including branding in a unique pop up space. This project was created using Revit, Enscape, Illustrator, Photoshop, and In Design.

THE SHAPE MIMICS THE DESIGN OF THE 1958 CENTER PLAN. IT BRINGS IN THE ANGLES AND THE IDEA OF BEING CENTERED AROUND A SPACE

STAIR PERSPECTIVE

LOCATION:
WHEN:
TYPE:
26 W Center Street Fayetteville, AR 7270. A place once left empty now transformed into a world of primary color. For this project, we were given the task of taking three buildings on the corner of the Fayetteville square, and transforming them into a gallery. We explored other galleries through precedent analysis. We had the opportunity to also visit the site and other local galleries to gather inspiration. We used our hand drawings skills to sketch and explore, but we also used Rhino, Illustrator, Photoshop, and In Design. This project allowed me to put myself in the shoes of a visitor and wonder how they might explore this space.
This building has the goal of showing how the simplicity of color can transform and enhance the space. The walls are a blank canvas that the art transforms into a bold and colorful one. The blend of clean lines and primary color invites you into the space. Color can tell a story and guide you through each chapter. The focus on red and blue was deliberate as these colors can show the power of color and emotion. Each wall will guide you, as a visitor, through the space. The angles and the colors on the walls are made to be a map. You don’t know what you are going to experience, all you know is you are being drawn in by the color.

For the Padderborn Senior Living complex we focused on creating spaces for individuality, but also space that could bring these people together. The “Kornblume” has a library, chapel, and restaurant that provide spaces that bring the members together. This project utilized digital, schematic, and physical work to portray the design on this space. We started the journey with the physical process work and schematic review. We researched Germany and the requirements for a senior living facility that differs from America. This then led us through the rest of the process and into the final design. Overall, this project because of the 135,000 sq ft pushed us to explore the big and small picture of design.
This project pushed me as a designer in many ways. This was our first large project. This taught me how to see the big a small picture.

Hand Drawn and Model Work
I wanted to be able to also showcase some of my work done by hand. Yes, most of the design world is done digitally, but there is something special about hand drawn work. Drawing and creating by hand is not my strongest section, but I see so much beauty in the simplicity of pencil drawings. There is something powerful about taking away the screen and creating with just a simple tool, our hand. We started school with only hand drawings and physical models, so I thought it was best to finish this portfolio with the aspect that all of this work began with.
