Duke's award calls in youth for adventure and commitment Where can young people get a combination of excitement, challenge, team work and individual pursuit?
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, open to all young people aged 14 to 25, provides opportunity for personal achievement, community and social involvement, adventure and widening of the leisure interests. No special academic abilities or physical skills are required. All that is required is effort and staying power. The scheme based atGreendown School is looking for fourteen year olds to join a new group to start work on the bronze programme. Youngsters have to pursue an interest, undertake a service in the community, a physical activity and an expedition. The range of activities is huge and is designed to give young people the widest scope to achieve success. Participants do not have to attend Greendown to take part in the DofE scheme coordinated by Bob Linnegar and Nick Stenning. To find out more contact them on 874224.
