For the 2017-2018 year the Governor’s Project will be the Lupus Foundation! The Lupus Foundation is a project is aimed to solve the mystery of Lupus, one of the world's cruelest, most unpredictable, and devastating diseases, while giving caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact! When I was young I noticed my mom was different, she was constantly in and out of the hospital, took over a dozen medications and couldn’t do stuff other moms could. Nonetheless she was still my inspiration. In 1989, my mom was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), a disease that changed her life drastically. Not only was she constantly sick but was discharged from military due to the side effects. This disease has impacted not only her life, but mine as well. I’m glad Southwest is joining the journey, and I am so blessed to be able to call this the Governor’s Project.

District Convention ‘18 Theme Release: September 1st
here’s ntonio Antonio had the pleasure of seeing all of the SWD Lt. Governors at his first Board meeting of the year. He absolutely loved it! Antonio only got more excited to go to Texas, and meet Lieutenant Governors from all around the world!
Antonio is WAY to excited for this upcoming year, and was astounded by their passion for service and their handy leadership skills. You’re not ready for them, Southwest!
Southwest UPDATES Officer Certification Forms Every Club must submit an officer certification form! This form will inform the District of your new club officers. You can receive this form by contacting your Lieutenant Governor! Or by clicking here!
District Convention The District Convention theme has been decided! and will be released September 1st! Be sure to follow ALL District Media to get the inside Scoop! It will be held in Chandler, Arizona at the Hotel San Marcos!

Children’s Miracle Network Every minute, 62 children enter a Children's Miracle Network Hospital. All CMN Hospitals contributions directly benefit hospitals, helping to purchase up-to-date equipment, train staff, conduct life-saving research, implement outreach programs and provide health care for children whose parents can’t afford to pay.
March of Dimes
Every minute a baby is born too soon. Every day, 72 babies die due to preterm birth complications. All year long, YOU can make a difference for all babies. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
K-Family Corner This weekend Southwest District Board had the great opportunity to hold their training with Kiwanis AND CKI! This was a glorious meeting that thrilled our connections with our K-Family! I would like to extend a thank you to Laura Belmont, Southwest District CKI Governor, and Ed Vurburg, Southwest District Kiwanis Governor! Without them this wonderful weekend definitely wouldn't have been possible! I would also like to extend a huge thank you to the students of Hiroshi Miyamura High School! They not only provided a few laughs this weekend, but also served us the whole weekend!
