or our April / May 2023 front cover shoot, four strong models and creatives, along with luxury wedding atelier, Eden Keshia, come together with Swanky Productions in a celebration of the new wedding season with our timeless and beautiful wedding accessories issue.

Whilst driving to be on location, I posed some questions to the brains behind the production and Editor-in-chief, Sally Marie. My curiosity into what made the perfect wedding accessory was at the forefront of my mind - many women have dreams of being married, and often the accessories that go alongside the dress are the pièce de résistance, but what are her top choices of a stunning accessory?

Sally replied with much enthusiasm, with an apparent passion for creative direction. ‘Many people think that having a big wedding dress is the star of the show and brings the satisfaction and goals achieved to get that perfect wedding. It is my opinion, however, that wedding accessories are often under-utilised. Something subtle and simple with a vintage but modern twist is eye-catching as you walk up that altar. Bringing in complimentary pieces such as an embellished beautiful veil, an adorned pair of lace gloves, and a stunning neckpiece can, without a doubt, bring that elegance and wow factor.’

Working with Eden Keshia, a luxury atelier specialising in refined, romantic and effortlessly unique bridalwear, Sally explains why Eden was the perfect fit for this production. ‘Looking for a designer that had a flair for bridal couture and elegance was vital to this production. As a wedding couture luxury designer, Eden ticked all the relevant boxes - and after seeing her designs and meeting her on the runway, I knew she was the perfect fit.’

When asked about the inspiration behind the production, Sally delved into how the beauty and elegance of the production and location came to be. ‘I attended Fashion Week Live at Grand Junction, in London. Even with the immense crowds, I knew that Grand Junction was the shoot location. Places I visit can sit in the back of my mind for years, with every location having a special feature that captures my attention. Grand Junction was stunning and eye-catching with its tall, angelic ceilings and other-worldly architecture. I’m immensely pleased with the production outcome, created with a fantastic team of creatives.’

Discover Designer: The Eden Keshia Brand Eden Keshia is a Luxury Atelier specialising in refined, romantic and effortlessly unique Bridal wear for clients around the world. With a background in editorial luxury fashion, the label explores bridal wear as a fashion-forward expression of a bride’s identity, resulting in editorial style pieces with endless styling options. A predominantly bespoke label, Eden has created an immersive design experience that is as individual as each bride, resulting in gowns that are entirely exclusive to the client. Each element of the journey explores endless creative possibilities that celebrates the individuality of each bride. Eden has launched her first Bridal collection that will be debuting for the first time at London Bridal week 2023.

As a previously bespoke-only label, the first collection is Eden’s first step into creating an exclusive collection that is made-to-order and still adopting slow fashion practises that are so important to the designer. Once a design has been created, a pattern is engineered with meticulous attention to detail. Garments are made one at a time, minimising waste and adopting sustainable techniques.

Gowns are made to order, designed and expertly crafted in-house in England by a dedicated creative team. Eden offers 3 tiers of service to help manifest each Bride’s dream dress; Heirloom, Bespoke and Couture.

Each gown begins as a detailed sketch, and goes through an intense sampling process exploring embroideries, silhouette development and into final production in-house in the atelier. Designs transcend beyond a dress into a treasured work of art, featuring couture detailing and artisan practises. Juxtaposing traditional artisan techniques with sustainable methods, the label produces lavish designs with conscious design methods using deadstock materials and vintage garments in an exclusive Heirloom collection.

Embracing individuality, collection gowns are fully customisable with options for couture design adaptions and personal embellishment details. Each gown is artfully designed and created with endless possibilities in mind. As a designer and on a personal level, Eden embraces the opportunity to extend a garment’s lifecycle and renew precious memories that are woven into vintage garments. Celebrating Eden’s love for Eden’s love for vintage fashion and timeless silhouettes, the Heirloom collection features carefully curated vintage pieces that have been designed for contemporary, fashion-forward brides. The collection is an ongoing catalogue of garments filled with sentiment and history, ready to be expertly fitted and customised for each individual client. Remaining tulle and lace has been used to create lavish accessories such as hats and gloves.

Eden will be debuting her latest bridal collection ‘Stellify” at London Bridal Week 2023, exhibiting at White Gallery London. The collection has already received attention from buyers and press alike, with British Vogue describing the collection as ‘breathtaking bespoke bridal wear’.

‘Stellify - to transform into a star.’ the collection adopts a celestial aesthetic and is inspired by Greek Mythology. Each look is inspired by a Grecian Goddess or Deity, with additional design details inspired by some of Eden’s closest friends.

Scriptures and storytelling of Greek myths allowed Eden to imagine each Goddess in the collection from her own perspective, echoing the concept of bespoke design in Eden’s Couture bridal service. Each design is unique, made in house from the first sketch through to final realisation, and represents the diversity and ever-evolving concept of non-traditional bridal wear. With celestial embellishments, hand-painted florals and embroidered personalisations, the collection manifests a focus on fashion, breaking trends, and an undeniable feel of ethereal, glamorous energy. Silhouettes feature classic lines with modern, fashion forward twists such as embellished straps, fringed hems or layering of corsets, waspies and draped silk. Each gown pushes the boundaries of traditional bridal wear into a fashion-forward selection of capes, dramatic veils, suits and gowns with high leg splits and removable sleeves. This layering of pieces adds an element of customisation to any bridal wardrobe. Off-cuts are used to create satin bridal purses, hair accessories and 3D embellishments, allowing Eden to incorporate the sustainable outlook into the fabric selection process.

Reflecting Eden’s love for texture and embellishment, the collection features beadwork, feathers, fringe, crystals and a three-dimensional appliqués that have been meticulously sculpted and hand-painted in-house. Each gown tells a story through fabric and thread. Gowns are designed to be impactful, eye-catching and transcendently sentimental to the wearer.

Gowns Euphrosyne - The Deity of Joy has attracted a lot of attention from clients so far for it’s bold and happy three-dimensional embellishments. The one-piece has cut-outs and three-dimensional embellishments across the bodice, and can be trimmed into a mini dress after the wedding or before the evening celebrations. A Juliet cap veil adds a classic twist to a contemporary silhouette.

The Selene cape is hand embellished with crystals and moon-stone beadwork.

Ethereal yet glamorous, the piece can be worn multiple ways as a cape, veil, or attached at the shoulders for an evening celebration. The full look features a semi-sheer, corseted gown with visible boning channels and Swarovski crystal detailing.

Corazon Bridal purses: Made in our atelier from off-cuts of satin, the purse is a ruched satin pouch that has been cut in such a way that it appears as a heart once complete. The point is finished with a single beaded tassel, and can be personalised with Eden’s signature monogram embroideries making them a really beautiful, personalised accessory.

The EK muse has always been quite alternative. Capes, jumpsuits bridal separates along with unexpected, interchangeable veils are key to the collection. Bridal outfits are designed to seamlessly interchange from day to night, with niche accessories and the opportunity to re-wear gowns as a mini dress for an anniversary.

Discover Photographer: Sam Nash Sam Nash is a London-based portrait photographer. He has been a freelance photographer for the past 15 years, as well as producing videography. He began as an event photographer before progressing to commercial photography, starting with small advertisement campaigns for magazines, retailers and lifestyle companies.

Sam has always been intrigued with art. He grew up drawing and painting and in a way, that propelled him into his love for his photography, as both activities were synonyms with creating an image. Sam first picked up his camera at 16 years old, and from there it went everywhere with him.

Within his 17 years of experience, he was able to work with big-named brands.

However, in the last 5 years, he began to solely focus on portrait and fashion photography, where his true passion lies. Sam is currently a Sony camera ambassador and holds the title of Master Of Light for the prestigious lighting company, Rotolight.

Sam describes his photography style as ‘all about capturing the emotion and expression of my subject, and this is why I am deeply interesting in portrait and fashion photography. My photographs are dynamic, often captured outdoors, and never in a simple studio setting. I focus on capturing the raw beauty of the subject’.

When quizzed whether Sam has a particular favourite when it comes to equipment, Sam’s answer was firm. ‘To be honest, I have always been a Sony shooter. I find Sony to be cutting-edge, class-leaders, and always able to keep up with my photography style which often requires capturing rapid movement with precision. My current camera is a Song A1 and it is currently the best camera. My favourite lens is the 50 mm GM 1.2 - it is the sharpest lens in my arsenal of lenses.’

Discover Venues: El Agency Studio + Grand Junction

El Agency is a multi-disciplinary design and print agency in the creative fields of design, architecture, print, and installations. Their core service started out in printing for architectural students back in 2014, and gradully expanded to serve independant businesses, corporations, practices and individuals in branding design briefs, interior design, consulations, promotional printing and high-end printing services.

El Agency have since added on a photography studio hire service at their location in Shepards Bush, West London, that is quickly growing to an iconic location. They connect with individuals, creatives and brands from all backgrounds, industries, cultures and talent.

10 minutes’ walk from Paddington Station, beside the Grand Union Canal, St Mary Magdalene Church is one of the finest neo-Gothic churches in the country. Managed by Paddington Development Trust, the Grand Junction project sees the church opened up to all as a venue with a lively community and arts programme.

Grade 1 Listed, it was built in the 1860s and 70s by the great Victorian architect G E Street, who orchestrated the very best artists and craftsmen of the day to produce a masterwork combining architecture, sculpture, stained glass, and arguably the most remarkable painted ceiling in an English parish church. From the mid-20th century the church fell into disrepair. It has now been lovingly restored and a beautiful new building has been added alongside, designed

by Dow Jones Architects, which provides a café, learning studio and visitor facilities.

Grand Junction is now open as a venue running courses for adults, after-school clubs for young people, family workshops, and a rapidly growing arts and music programme. The church is open regularly for visitors, allowing enjoyment of its astonishing architecture by a much wider audience. At the heart of Grand Junction is the idea of bringing together different communities, bridging some of the parallel worlds of 21st century London.
