elcome, Abbey, and congratulations on making the front cover of this month’s Nude and Boudoir Magazine, The December issue. Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions!

SNABM: Please introduce yourself to our readers, describing a little bit about yourself and your journey as a model.

AS: My name’s Abbey but I’ve gone by the nickname Barbie since 5th grade. Singing, modeling, and dancing have become a large piece of who I am. I started modeling around twenty-four as a way to express my imagination through the beauty of photography.

SNABM: What inspired you to get into the creative industry, was there a specific reason or role model that inspired you to take this career path?

AS: The inspiration behind my first photo shoot was none other than the blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe. Yes, she was beautiful and sexy, but I love her most for navigating a traumatic childhood and still becoming an iconic model.

SNABM: As the model on this shoot, in your experience how did this photoshoot differ from other photoshoots you have been a model on?

AS: My Flowers photoshoot was particularly special, it was right after my toxic 13 year relationship ended. I unfortunately allowed myself to become a victim of all forms of abuse and this left me in such a dark place.

Miley Cyrus’s song Flowers came out and the next thing I know, I was in-front of the camera emulating how I could buy myself flowers, talk to myself for hours, hold my own hand, and love me better than anyone can. No voice should live rent free in a woman’s mind telling them that they they are unworthy. Through this photo shoot, I would tell my story and inspire others that they too

can do anything through the power of selflove.

SNABM: How would you describe your modeling style? Are there any particular genres of photography you like to model for?

AS: I would describe my modeling style as motivational, sexy, and adventurous.

Horror, fairytale, and fantasy are my favorite modeling genres.

SNABM: What is your favourite part about being and model and why?

AS: My favorite part about being a model is that through this creative art, I aim to empower other women to be confident in their own skin.

SNABM: Can you tell us more about your processes as a model, is there anything you do in particular before a shoot?

AS: Before a photo shoot I like to look at other modeling photos to gain inspiration for poses, hair styles, and make-up ideas.

SNABM: Have there been any challenges in your career of modeling? If so, how did you overcome them?

AS: Being a mother of four and working full-time has imposed some challenges in my modeling career, but proper time management has helped me overcome them.

SNABM: So looking back over your modeling experience has it changed your personal/professional life? Do you think you have grown in confidence since you started?

AS: It has definitely changed the way I view myself and the world around me. I love that now at thirty-one, the camera has made me feel more confident and sexy than ever before.

AS: I have always wanted to work with Hugh Hefner and be able to model for Playboy. I still think it would be a dream to work with Ben Kohn who took over the Playboy magazine after his passing.

SNABM: If you could change one thing in the modeling world what would it be? and why?

AS: The stereotypes that you have to weigh a certain amount or look a certain way. I think beauty comes in all shapes and forms and if truly is in the eye of the beholder.

SNABM: Is there any advice you could give to younger you about being a model?

AS: Be bold, try new ideas, and don’t hold back. Give it your all.

SNABM: Further to that, is there any advice you would give to someone else who is aspiring to be a model but doesn’t know where to start?

AS: Everyone’s gotta start somewhere. Take each photoshoot as a learning experience to gain confidence and growth. Most importantly don’t give up on your dreams or passion.

SNABM: Can you share the next projects you are working on next? What aspects of these projects are you most excited about?

AS: My next project will hopefully involve my new boyfriend.

I am super excited about having a passionate modeling experience with someone who means so much to me.

SNABM: Do you have any other exclusive tidbits you would like to share with us?

AS: In the future, I intend on doing another photo shoot involving Marilyn Monroe inspiration.

SNABM: Where can our readers keep up with you and your work?

AS: My work is mostly found on Facebook under the name Abbiegail Elizabeth.
