Kids tour

Time: 3 hours Age: 0 – 6 years

Feed our farm animals at 10.30 am. Goats, pigs, rabbits, hens, chickens and cows. The play barn is open all day. Take a break at the Kiosk, we sell ice cream and beverages. At 12 pm you can attend the Folk tale Theatre, a performance for kids. Afterwards you take a stroll along the pathway of tales, a magical trail in the museum forest.

History trail

Time: 4 hours. Age: adult/all

Join our guided tour in The Old City at 10.30 am, which leads you to the stately apartment of Trondheim`s richest man, at 11 am. Take a walk up to the beautiful farmyard Engelsjord where they play out ”The American Dream” at 1 pm.

Guided tour of the museums rural department at 2.30 pm, to be combined with a visit to our churches at 3.15 pm. Cafè Borgstua is open all day.

The Kings suggestion

Time: 3 hours. Age: from 6 years

Our Medieval Camp is open all day. 10.30 am – 4 pm. Try out your skills with the bow and arrow, or excel in ax throwing. The family joins forces or makes it a competition. To make the medieval experience complete, join King Sverres training camp. 11.30 am, and 2 pm.

The family excursion to Sverresborg

Time: 5 hours. Age: all

Feed the farm animals at 10.30 am, or just play at the open barn or on the playground. Norwegian building traditions is a great family activity, and our carpentry and crafting building set is available all day, 10.30 am to 4 pm. In need of a break? The Kiosk is open from 11 am to 4 pm.

Guided tour of the museums rural department at 11.30 am and again at 2.30 pm. The medieval camp for the slightly older children (and parents) is open from 10.30 am – 4 pm. Tour of the churches at 12.30 pm. Tour of the Old Town 10.30 am, followed by a visit to Adolf Øien’s apartment. The kids join in as the Nightman makes his dreadful city walk at 1 pm, and the adults takes a deserved break in the city square. The Colonial sells sweets from 11 am to 4 pm.

Midsummer`s Eve at Sverresborg

Sunday June 23rd, 10 am – 7 pm Celebration and festivity with family activities, live music and bonfire. Two performances with the popular Fire safety Bear, Bjørnis!Bring your own BBQ and supplies, to use with our campfire pans. Requires seperately bought tickets.

A weekend of Tales at the Museum

Saturday August 31st and Sunday September 1st 10 am – 5 pm

You can`t do it all in one day! DAY 2 –free of charge

Folk Tale Mini Theatre. Dress up and enjoy a day with Princesses, Princes, and Trolls. Family activities. Hidden gold coins – help us find them! Requires seperately bought tickets.
