Hey Fresher!
Congratulations on securing your study place! I hope you had a great summer and are now ready to start the unforgettable fall semester. You have the unique opportunity to be among the first students enrolled in the Bachelor in Business program, also giving you the chance to be part of this journey right from the very beginning.
My name is Mirjam Wadenström and I am the Chief Editor for the Freshershankeit 2024. Together with my wonderful team – Alex, Ellen H, Ellen L and Miro – we have created this magazine with the most important information you might need as an new gulis (fresher) at Hanken.
What is SHS? Who are the tutors? What are committees, sub committees and clubs? You will find the answers to all these questions and more right here In the magazine, you will also get a glimpse into what SHS is all about. We have included greetings from various people, tips for your studies, and other useful advice.
The goal is to introduce you to the most important things in the student life so that you can start the fall
fall strong. We encourage you to take some time to read through it!
If there’s anything you’re curious about, whether it’s related to the magazine or something completely different, don’t hesitate to reach out. We, your tutors, are here to help you!
My team and I wish you a fantastic start to your student life, and a warm welcome to Hanken!
Mirjam Wadenström Chief Editor of Freshershankeit
2024
Congratulations on your new place of study at Hanken but above all - a warm welcome as part of the community in the Student Union of Hanken School of Economics! Ahead of you are years filled with exciting and unforgettable memories and what we at SHS usually call the good life. Whatever path you choose to take during your studies, the Student Union is there to make sure you are prepared for what the future holds - while having fun along the way!
Starting your studies involves a lot of changes. For some, it means moving to a new city, for others a completely different country. Whatever your background, now is the time for you to find your place in the big Hanken family, and luckily you have your fantastic tutors and the rest of the student union waiting to welcome you in. What you will hopefully experience is how our slogan "Once Hankeit - always Hankeit" is so much more than a catchy phrase - and how rewarding these years of your life can be.
This sense of strong community and belonging has been a central part of the Student Union of Hanken School of Economics for 115 years When the student union was founded in 1909 as Kamratföreningen Niord, it was with the vision of creating a platform for students to engage, develop and shape their time at Hanken into something special. And that vision still lives on today Today we have a unique role in Finland As the only student union with only business students as members and as one of two student unions with swedish as the main language, we work daily to ensure that our members have the best possible study time. We do this both towards the university and on a national level. The Student Union has a de facto statutory task - to bring students together, to look after your interests and to prepare you for life after your studies.
A large part of the student union's statutory task is the responsibility of the student union board, but the great thing about SHS is that it is possible to get involved at many different levels Already as a fresher, you can join Extra Active Freshmen, stand for SHS student council elections or apply for a position as a student representative in one of Hanken's bodies In addition to this, we have a variety of committees, sub-committees and clubs that recruit at regular intervals that everyone can apply for.
At SHS you can get active whether you are interested in organizing events, doing marketing, playing badminton, playing shack, lobbying or advocating for your fellow students - to only name a few If you don't find anything that suits you, you are always welcome to get a group together and start your own club!
My absolute best advice is to make the most of the time you have ahead of you, and take advantage of the events, services and opportunities to get involved that the Student Union offers As an active member of the Student Union, you get to try out working together, running projects and challenging yourself in a safe and accepting environment It is also an opportunity to meet new people and create a network of contacts that you will definitely benefit from in your career Without a doubt, you will also make friends that will stay with you for life!
I very much look forward to meeting you all this fall and to welcoming you all to our great community Never forget that the Board is always there to support you and that no issue is too small to be in touch. I sincerely hope that you will enjoy your time at Hanken and as part of SHS, and that you dare to take advantage of the opportunities that come Once again - a warm welcome to the good life at Finland's most fun student union!
So Pre
Dear new students,
Today you are in a similar situation as I was 45 years ago. I had taken my matriculation examination in Norway, applied to Hanken and was happy to receive the news that I was accepted. Very intensive years followed, during which I was active in the Student Union, worked abroad during two periods and at the same time proceeded in my studies. For me Hanken was the right choice and I hope it will be for you too.
Some of you may already be familiar with Hanken, maybe you have a friend or a relative who has studied at our business school. Some of you know probably much less about Hanken and Finland might also be new to you. We had applicants from four continents applying for our new Bachelor in Business programme, and our student body will this year be more international and more diverse than ever before. Let me assure you that we at Hanken will do everything we can to make you feel that Hanken is your home. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any questions that might arise. We have study counsellors that can guide you regarding your studies and tutors who will help you with the onboarding We offer several other support functions, among others, a study coach and a study psychologist who support the well-being of all our students. When I returned to Hanken a few years ago after having had a career elsewhere, I truly felt that I had come home This is the feeling we would like you to have as well.
The focus at Hanken is on campus-based learning activities. But I would like to emphasize that there is much more to studying than the courses and studying for exams.
We hope that you experience the campus as a natural hub for meeting and getting to know other students, creating friendships and social networks that will support you throughout your life I encourage you to get to know and participate in the events and activities that the Student Union organises – these are a great way of getting to know your fellow students.
Hanken is a truly international business school, where a mandatory exchange term is an integrated part of also the Swedish-speaking Bachelor programme This is a unique opportunity to experience studies or an internship abroad and ensures that we foster graduates with an international mindset I encourage you to deepen your skills in other languages and use your exchange time to further develop your language skills For those of you who come to Finland from abroad, we offer the opportunity to learn Swedish or Finnish and you might – instead of spending a semester away from Finland – decide to get to know Finland better and do an internship here instead We also welcome around 200 exchange students from all around the world, and a third of our faculty and researchers have an international background All this means that the corridors at Hanken constitute a melting pot of languages and cultures
Our career services function as a link between students and business life and can help you find an internship during your studies. Furthermore, our Business Lab functions as an active platform for those of you interested in pursuing a business idea and entrepreneurship
Once more, a warm welcome to Hanken! Ingmar (Inkku) Björkman Rector
Congratulations!
You have been accepted into one of the best business schools in Europe and are now part of the best, finest and friendliest student union in Finland.
The role of the curator is to be a contact between the student union and the business community. In this role, you help where you can, open doors and provide support when needed. I have been in this position for three years now and I am happy and grateful to be able to work for my dear student union in this way. I have a master's degree in economics from 1989 and have worked 35 years in the financial industry and more than 8 years as the city director of Finland's most beautiful city, Hangö
Hanken has changed in many ways since my time, but only for the better The school has several fine accreditations and has advanced considerably on all ranking lists. The big difference for students is the international exchange with mandatory study abroad and its by-product that Hanken is full of foreign students All this contributes to the fact that today's economists have a clearly more international outlook and see the whole world as their potential labor market
I strongly recommend that you get involved in the student union. Student union activity offers a break from studies, parties, a good time, as well as practice in economics, how organizations work, cooperation and leadership. All important components of an economics career.
The most important thing, after all, is that it is at the student union that you build relationships, both romantic ones and those that will serve you for the rest of your life. There's an old saying: It's not about what you know, it's about who you know! Believe it or not, there is a lot to it I spent a lot of time in student union activities throughout my studies and I am still happy about it. Most of my friends and social circle are from my student days and I have benefited a lot from the professional network during all these years. So you combine business and pleasure in a rewarding way.
If you then get bitten by the student union bug, there are a lot of different opportunities to continue after your studies in the financial association Niord, SHS support association and suchlike. But before that happens, you have many years of interesting and meaningful studies, parties, and student fun ahead of you.
Enjoy your student life, it is one of the best times of your life!
Yours sincerely
Denis "Vepsu" Strandell Curator
Hello dear freshmen,
A heartfelt welcome to Hanken and SHS! As summer comes to an end, it is with great joy that I welcome you to your years of study. My name is Mathilda, and I am your Secretary General here at SHS until the end of 2024. My responsibilities include ensuring that the student union's operations run as smoothly as possible. This means handling administrative and financial tasks, representing our student union when needed, and safeguarding the student union's general interests. Additionally, I take minutes at meetings for the student council, the board, the central election committee, and the insignia and scholarship committees. The student union's premises are located right behind Hanken and are a lively center for union activities and laughter All student union members are welcome to come with any unionrelated questions. You can find me at the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, where you might also meet the union's financial secretary.
The Student Union is governed by the student council, to which enrolled students at Hanken, like yourselves, can be elected every year The council also appoints and elects the student union's board.
The board handles much of the work that allows new students to participate in all the fun events organized by the committees and advocates for your best interests at higher levels, ensuring that someone always represents your voice.
As Secretary General at SHS, I encourage you all to apply to the various clubs and committees during your time at Hanken. This will give you memories, friends, and experiences that you will look back on for the rest of your lives! Some committee activities can also help with your exchange applications! I have never studied at Hanken myself but have my background at the University of Helsinki Despite my different path, I have been welcomed by the warm student union and its members, and I am sure you will feel welcome here too. My door is always open for your questions, and my email is always accessible. If nothing else, feel free to stop by and say hello!
See you in the fall, and I am confident that you will thrive here at Hanken!
Mathilda Lindblom Acting Secretary General
Hi there,
First of all, I would like to wish you a huge congratulations on your place at Hanken - well done! My name is Axel Anderson and I work as the Finance and Administration Secretary at SHS, more commonly known as “ekonsek”. Together with the Secretary General (gensek) and the Executive Board, we make sure that the daily administrative work within the student union runs smoothly. For my part, this involves, for example, sending invoices to partner companies, bookkeeping and supporting our elected representatives at the union in keeping track of their budget. I can also sit on various working groups at the student union as secretary and take minutes. For example, last spring I was part of the Student Council's working group for the revision of the student union's policy document.
For you it is worth knowing that you can always ask me if you have problems with, for example, the student union fee (which, by the way, should be paid in connection with the academic year registration, which you should do as soon as possible) If you become active in the student union later in your studies, I can also help you apply for sponsorship from partner companies or similar
In addition to my work as an ekonsek, I will start my fifth and final year at Hanken this autumn. At the union, I have a past in various subcommittees and have also been on the SHS board responsible for education policy in 2023.
In other words, there is a high probability that you will see me either at “kåren” or at Hanken and then you are welcome to come and grab me by the sleeve if there is something you are wondering about or just want to say hello!
Last but not least, I want to encourage you to make the most of your student life and learn more about everything that SHS has to offer - there's bound to be something that suits you, and if not, you're free to start a new club, for example. If you take the excellent decision to become active in the union, we will certainly interact at some stage and then I will be more than happy to help if there is a need If not, the bar is of course equally low for every SHS member to to contact me if there is something that is worrying you! With that said, may I remind you to register for the academic year and pay the student union fee and then you are ready to make the most of what life as a “hankeit” and SHS member has to offer!
Once again, congratulations and see you in the autumn!
Axel Anderson Fi
Congratulations on your study place and a warm welcome to Hanken and SHS, also called the student union or simply the union. Here is a greeting from the Student Council, the highest decision-making body of the Student Union. We hope you are looking forward to the fall and we can guarantee that your tutors and the rest of us in the student union are working hard to make sure you have the most unforgettable fall and study time possible!
"What is a council then?"
you might ask Well, it's a group of eager student union members elected by other student union members to make important decisions within the union and to oversee the student union's board. The student union council can be compared to a municipal council, church council or, to some extent, Parliament - but for the student union. The most important tasks of the council include deciding on strategic matters, such as approving the student union's budget, determining the amount of the student union fee and making long-term plans for the direction of the student union's development The council also elects the SHS board, committee presidents and other representatives of the union - for example, students who sit on the Hanken board
"Why do people get involved in the council?" you might wonder Of course, the best answer would probably come from the council members themselves, but in the absence of such empirical research, you'll have to settle for the Presidiums interpretation. As a member of the council, you get to participate and influence by discussing and deciding, for example, how the student union fee should be used in the smartest way, what equality rules the committees should follow and wha board should focus on in its work In other words, you to influence how the community you now become pa works, which according to us in the Presidium is very educational and meaningful!
"What kind of Presidium are you talking about and are these Student Council Members?" you might be wondering The Student Council is mad of a maximum of 18 ordinary members and 18 depu elected by direct, secret and proportional election e fall. The Student Council is led by a Presidium, whi elected by the Student Council, and this year consis President Emilia "Emmi" Winqvist, First Vice-Presi Philip Höstman and Second Vice-President Emilia Jan The Second Vice-President also chairs the G Committee - a group of extra eager Student Co members who, among other things, prepare matter the Student Council A list of all members can be foun the Student Union's website shs fi
"What do I, a gulis, have to do with the Student Council?" you might ask As you've probably noticed above, almost everything that happens at the union is affected in some way by the work of the council. So if you have suggestions for improvement or want to learn more about the union, you can, among other things:
stand for election to the Student Council in the fall. The Student Union's Central Election Committee (CVN) will help you with everything you need. vote in the Student Council elections to be held this fall More information will be available around October
Attend Student Council meetings, which are held once a month Meeting times and locations can always be found on the Union's website at least 10 days before the meeting. get in touch with a Student Council member or a member of the Presidium to share your experiences, discuss, ask questions or otherwise philosophize. As a gulis, you see other sides than we more inveterate corps foxes, so your input is super important!
Don't hesitate to contact Emmi, Philip or Emilia if you
Congratulations , g p nt responsibilities but share a burni that we are here for you, so never h have any questions! <3

Welcome to SHS!
Our members are the most important thing SHS has to look after. The main priority at SHS is that you, our members, feel welcome, safe and respected in all groups and events at SHS. At the Student Union, just like at Hanken, we have several documents related to equality and also a ‘Code of Conduct’. It is available on our website so that everyone knows how to behave at our events! The Equality and Harassment Ombudsmen make sure that ‘Finland's most fun student union’ includes everyone, equally and respectfully, and that you can fully enjoy ‘The Good Life’.
This year, Aliisa Lundén and Matias Monola are acting as ombudsmen and support persons. We work confidentially and always on your terms. We are here for you as a counsellor in both large and small matters that may be troubling you, or as a sounding board for ideas for promoting equality work. It is also our task to act as a contact link further, if you so wish.
We hope that you are in contact with us with the lowest possible threshold. We are here to help and support you, and also to develop the Student Union's activities in a proactive way.
Perhaps you are wondering when you should be in contact with us? In short, when you have experienced that you/someone else has been subjected to something unpleasant, felt uncomfortable or harassed in a circle or at events, or experienced unequal treatment. You are also welcome to share your thoughts on how we could develop our work here at the Student Union. No issue is ‘too small’ to raise - you should not be alone with your feelings and thoughts. We treat all matters confidentially and in consultation with you!

Starting at Hanken is an exciting time filled with opportunities, but it can sometimes be challenging to begin your studies in a stress-free way. Here are some tips and tricks to make your study time easier and help you succeed.
Your Study Technique
Studying is something incredibly personal. Personally, I haven't attended a class since last December, yet I've passed all courses with top grades. For me, independent study works best, but for someone else, it might be different. Therefore, it's important to try different learning methods early in the autumn and be critical, for example by asking questions like "Do I learn better this way?" or "Do I learn better if I attend the lecture, or if I go to the library and read at my own pace?". Criticism, self-awareness, and independence can lead to long-term results.
Good time management is important to balance both studies and free time. Determining which courses require more effort and which material within the course needs your focus and most time is crucial. Some courses have several hundredpage-long books that don't need to be touched, while other courses require you to remember the book by heart
Find a Study Environment
Find a place where you can study undisturbed and that has a good atmosphere. It can be a library, a quiet room at home or a café where you find
Studying for long periods without a break can lead to exhaustion. Make sure to take regular breaks to keep your brain fresh and productive This can involve hanging out with friends, taking a short walk, or just resting for a while.
Don't wait to seek help if you're struggling with something Talk to your teachers, seek support from study counselors, or form study groups with your classmates. In many courses, groups are helpful, and when it comes to group projects, a well-functioning group is crucial.
The student union offers much more than just studies Join committees, clubs, and sections, participate in events, and meet new people. It makes your study time more enjoyable.
Don't forget to take care of your physical and mental health Exercise regularly, eat healthily, and get enough sleep. This helps you perform better in your studies. This can be difficult to maintain alongside an active student life (alcohol), so set boundaries for yourself.
ck with your studies! Remember that your Hanken is an opportunity to learn and th academically and personally ahlberg nal Affairs in SHS Board 2024
Hello new Hankeites! Many people say that studying is one of the best years of our lives, so I think we should make the most of the opportunities we have. Did you know that as a student and Hankeit you are entitled to a lot of benefits? Some of the benefits you can take advantage of during your studies, after you have registered your attendance and paid the student union fee are:
The student card:
To enjoy these benefits and discounts, you should have a valid student card, which you will receive from Frank, and which you can activate once you have registered for attendance at Hanken and paid the student fee to SHS. You can choose whether you want to use your student card digitally via the Frank app or whether you want a physical card - or both. You can order the physical card at www.frank.fi and the academic year sticker to be pasted on can be picked up from the union.
Student accommodation:
Hanken has some student accommodation at Arabiastranden and Jätkäsaari where you can apply for cheaper apartments. HOAS also offers apartments around the capital region that you are entitled to apply for. Student accommodation is highly sought after, so be quick to get to the front of the queue!
Traveling:
On HSL regional transport you get about 45% discount on season tickets as a student. You can load your student discounted season ticket on a physical HSL pass or directly on your HSL app The ticket includes transport by bus, metro, tram and ferry If you are traveling longer distances, you can take advantage of VR's and Matkahuolto's student discounts on train and bus travel.
Food and health:
In student restaurants around Finland, you can buy really cheap lunches for 1.90-4.50€. Hanken has its own lunch restaurant, Food & CO, with several lunch options every day and always vegetarian options too. In addition, they offer a good breakfast if you are early at school Some student restaurants in Helsinki, Unicafé, offer affordable meals even after lunchtime Many other restaurants and cafés also offer discounts for students The same also applies to some health and beauty salons and their offers on e.g. massage or skin care. You can always ask if there are student discounts in different places!
The FSHS, in Finnish: YTHS, consists of general practitioners, public health nurses, dentists and psychologists, among others, who are here for your well-being and also for preventive purposes. The nearest service point is as close as Töölönkatu, but you can always visit the one that is most convenient for you. On the other hand, it's good to exercise in any way you like and that's what UniSport offers! You have the option of versatile gym rooms and group classes in everything from yoga to kickboxing as well as ball court renting at very affordable prices They also offer massage and PT classes If you have a UniSport card, you can use all UniSport facilities and gyms in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
Hanken offers different services depending on your needs; you can visit our study coach or study counselor for study-related matters, study psychologist, psychotherapist or chaplain for more personal matters. You can visit them during their office hours without an appointment, or you can book an appointment in advance Don't hesitate to get in touch, they are all here for you SHS offers free and confidential support in the form of our Equality and Harassment ombudsmen Aliisa Lundén and Matias Monola (mail: equality@shs.fi / harassment@shs.fi). In addition, we have a number of StödHankeiter (SupportHankeits) who have been trained in mental health first aid. With them, you can discuss anything between heaven and earth, completely confidentially. You can reach them either by emailing them directly, or through stodhankeiter@shs.fi, where I (Aliisa) will connect you with a SupportHankeit who meets your needs
Other nice things:
Clothing stores, grocery stores, energy companies, insurance... These and many more may offer interesting discounts for students that you can find on the Frank app. Discounts change regurarly so keep an eye on the Frank app! Offers specifically for Hankeites can be found on SHS Benefits, www.shs/shs-benefits/. You can save a lot of money in the end so I recommend using all the different student discounts! Good luck with your studies and enjoy your student life!<3

You can contact her if, for example, you need help establishing better daily routines or tips on study motivation. You can book up to 3 coaching sessions during the academic year It’s often beneficial to have one or two follow-up sessions, but sometimes a single session is enough. If needed, the number of coaching sessions can be increased.

Hi, my name is Elias and together with Jonatan, who is also on the board this year, we represent you students in the university alliance ENGAGE EU, and are at the same time your contact person in SHS.
ENGAGE.EU is a European university alliance that Hanken has been a member of since 2023, so this is also new to us and the alliance is constantly evolving. In the alliance, which specialises in economics, a total of 9 universities are members, from sunny Spain to mountainous Norway Together, these 9 universities form a European university with over 125,000 students, and by studying at Hanken, you are automatically a member of this community.
As a member of ENGAGE.EU, you can take advantage of many different benefits. For example, you can take part in the Summer and Winter Schools organised every summer and winter break in one of the member countries' universities. So if extra courses and the beaches of Barcelona or the ancient wonders of Rome during your winter break sound appealing, keep your eyes peeled for the call for applications later this autumn.
A six-month programme on digital transformation is under development and at Master's level there is a joint GSM, global sustainability management, programme is forthcoming In the past, courses such as ‘Data Science in Action - Use of Data Science Methods in different disciplines (6 ECTS) and ‘Virtual collaborations across cultures (5ECTS) have also been offered through ENGAGE.EU and more are on the way
You will be starting your studies in economics this autumn and in the ever-changing job market we live in today, it is important to be able to stand out from the crowd with your education ENGAGE EU helps you with this by broadening the range of courses available to you and, above all, giving you an opportunity to participate in a European community.
Jonathan and I both hope that you have had a sunny and relaxing summer and that you are ready to start studying in the autumn Good luck with your studies and hopefully see you in the autumn.

SSHV is the Stude School of Economic around 600 memb that everyone thriv student life. Founde support organization for students and looks after the interests of its members.
SSHV is characterized by the fact that we have our very own bar, Cella Nova, which is located right next to Vaasa market square. The premises were bought in 2002 by the board then and a major renovation was conducted in 2007. Cella Nova, which is usually just called Cella, is a completely legal bar where you can buy beer, cider, drinks, shots, for example. Cella serves as the living room of the Vaasa Hankeits and most of our events are also organized there. During the academic year, Cella Open is also organized and the bar is open to the public all evening Many people gather at Cella to do dancing everything from meeting acquaintances to dancing on the dance floor.
members and nonsuch as meetings, es. Oskar acts as s that everything is During the year, we have replaced the lights in the bar and acquired new cleaning equipment to ensure that the bar is in good condition after the events that are organized there.
The activities of the association in Vaasa differ from those in Helsinki in many ways The most notable example is that CN, along with other committees, organizes most of the events in Helsinki. In contrast, on the SSHV board, our event coordinator, Lina, plans events in collaboration with the Board. The larger projects such as excursions, fastlaskiainen and well-being weeks are overseen by Sofia, our project coordinator, together with her committee
In addition to all these events organized by the Board, we also have 8 sub-organizations that organize their own events. The Board is also responsible for tutors, freshmen and exchange students; our head of study & social affairs and head of educational affairs, Linus and Jiri are responsible for the freshmen and exchange student events, respectively. Contact with the business community and sponsorship searches are overseen by our head of corporate relations, Ida, and her corporate relations committee. The committee also organizes events related to the business community.
he sitzes in Vaasa are slightly different from yours in Helsinki. The approach is roughly the same, but when you attend an event on the other campus for the first time, you will quickly notice that there are differences in songs and other event programs. One of the first things you notice is that the second song in Helsinki is called Halvankaren while in Vaasa we sing Halvan. Little things like this can cause a bit of a "culture clash" when you attend the other campus’s event for the first time. However, these differences are usually just fun surprises, and you will definitely catch on quickly!
In the fall, a joint event is traditionally organized for all freshmen from both campuses. The event, organized by SSHV's Gulispapi/Head of study & social affairs, as well as our freshman tutors and SHS Gekko, is a sitz with an accompanying silliz held every other year in Helsinki and every other year in Vaasa The event is called Häva i Hesa when the Vaasa Hankeits come down to Helsinki to get acquainted with Casa and when the Helsinki Hankeits come up to Vaasa to party at Cella, the event is called Vingla i Vasa. This year it is Vingla in Vaasa in mid-October, hope to see you all there!
During the rest of the academic year, it is very common in Vaasa to participate in other student association’s sitzes and events. Events that are not specific freshman events are usually open to all students so the sitz tables tend to be filled with many different colored overalls. In addition, Pampas National Day is a major event in Vaasa, which is open to everyone and students from different parts of the country gather to celebrate. Joint events are also very common and therefore the cohesion among students is very strong in Vaasa and after a while in Vaasa's student life, you are familiar with students from many different student associations and unions.
Hope you have a super fun fall with many great memories!
Sincerely,
Julia Therman

Hello gulis!
Congratulations on your admission to one of the world's top business schools and membership in the best student union, SHS! SHS's parties are well known in student circles and you will now be able to take part in these fantastic events and parties.
My name is Axel Marcus, I am 20 years old and I am about to start my second year at Hanken, majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics. Last year, I had the honor of being named gurugulis of the year, which is an award that is given every year to a gulis who has been nice, talkative, laughed a lot, but above all been extra active during the gulis autumn. Every year, last year's gurugulis gets the honor of writing a greeting to next year's gulisar with some tips and tricks for your upcoming studies.
My advice is to try to be as active as possible during the gulishöst. It only happens once and it's over faster than you think! Gulishösten is also a great opportunity to get to know your grade, so make sure to be open to meeting new friends! I didn't know anyone else who started at Hanken at the same time as me, but by attending the events organized during the Gulishöst, I got to know lots of lovely new people. I also highly recommend that you take the opportunity to apply for one of the many different committees or clubs that exist within SHS. There is something for everyone, so whether it's golf, sailing, wine tasting, beer pong, organizing parties or partying, you will hopefully find something for you. I myself participated in Extra Active Gulisar (EAG) where you get to try to organize events in the autumn such as Beer Olympics and the fantastic EAG sitz and now I will act as a tutor in Gulnäbbskommittén (Gekko)
Joining EAG was extremely fun and rewarding and I have made lifelong friends, so take the opportunity to join too! Studies should definitely not fall between the cracks, but the right amount is best and studies would be nothing without student life, so take the opportunity to become active Of course, you should not feel that you have to be active. The students at Hanken are nice and there is always good cohesion at the school Take the opportunity to study at school together with others to make studying more fun, eat the affordable lunch and take the occasional coffee break with associated discussion. It is precisely these everyday moments that make studying a little extra fun. I myself am almost always at school, and sometimes the lunches and coffee breaks can be a little longer than planned!
Your fall semester is about to start and you will be thrown into student life. Make the most of your fall semester, it's unique. Don't forget to be open to meeting new friends, be yourself and above all have fun!
I look forward to meeting you all!
Axel Marcus Gurugulis 2023

Dear Fresher,
Congratulations on your admission and warmly welcome to Hanken and the student union, SHS! You have a wonderful time ahead of you, the fresher fall, so really try to make the most out of it and attend all the fun events that are organised!
Gulnäbbskommittén is a committee at SHS and we are 22 tutors taking care of the freshers of the Swedish taught programme at Hanken, by introducing them to both the studies and the study life. During the fresher fall, or gulishöst as we say in Swedish, we organise a lot of fun activities, ranging from small get togethers and pub crawls to sitzes and a trip to our other campus city, Vaasa! We start during the introduction weeks in August and finish up the fresher fall with Halarutdelningen in November.
We collaborate tightly with other committees at SHS, such as the Sports committee, Exchange committee and Casa Nostra, and of course Freshers committee which we have our closest collaboration with. Together we will organise grand events, such as Gulismiddagen, Gulisintagningen, Gulissemin and Halarutdelningen. We’re really looking forward to seeing you guys there!
Good luck with the studies and enjoy the fresher fall – vi ses på Casa!
Erik Carlhielm President of Gulnäbbskommittén 2024
"Life is a party"
This marks the beginning of the best years of your life! Your study time will be filled with parties and unforgettable evenings, and we, Casa Nostra, are mainly responsible for that. We are the student union's official party committee, and we organize the best parties in town!
Casa Nostra (CN) has, since 1977, been tasked with quenching the endless party thirst of Hanken students. To meet this need, it requires a group that focuses solely on this, party planning. In their 47 years of activity, CN has ensured that the parties are the best of their kind. This autumn, we organize, among other things, Inledande, Gulismiddagen, and Christmas Party, which you do not want to miss! Besides dancing on the dance floor, CN's parties are excellent opportunities to meet new people and get to know familiar faces from the lectures better.
CN 2024 is called Crudelis Nocturna, and we want to offer you the best entertainment a Hanken student could wish for, all year round We are an energetic team of 22 people, all of whom love everything to do with parties and party organizing. However, life for us is not just work and toil; the best part about organizing parties is that you get to enjoy the party yourself, socialize with friends, mingle, and dance
Within CN, we are divided into different groups that are responsible for their own areas of party planning. Hosts and hostesses provide the magnificent taste experiences at the sitz, the program team is responsible for the decorations and the program, and the royal spirits team ensures no one goes home thirsty PR keeps everyone well-informed about the events and provides a tangible memory from the sitz, an overall patch that represents the theme of the evening Last but not least, we have the government, which consists of the president, treasurer, and vice-president
Their task is to pull the strings and ensure that everyone else keeps up and guarantees that the parties are as good as possible.
Life as a CN member gives so much! In addition to spending time with your 21 best friends, you also get to be part of the fantastic and open camaraderie of the most active part of the student union.
Being a CN member is an experience you'll never forget It provides experience for the future and is a great opportunity to meet new people. You are warmly welcome to all our parties! And if you think party planning is something for you - Apply to Casa Nostra 2025! More information about us can be found at shs fi You can also grab a CN member by the sleeve anytime if you have any questions.
See you at Casa!
Malin Wallgren President,Casa Nostra 2024
Hello new freshers, welcome to Hanken!
The Exchange Committee (better known as EC) is a committee of 23 tutors who take care of Hanken's incoming exchange students. Every semester Hanken welcomes about 100 new exchange students and we in EC make sure their time in Helsinki and Finland is unforgettable and full of fun activities You could say that the exchange experience at Hanken is similar to the fall you will be experiencing. Our events are in English, but open to all Hanken students, so please join us and get a taste of what an exchange is like, in your own home university!
We go to Tallinn for an intense one-day trip, a wonderful trip to Stockholm, and a legendary ski trip to Lapland. In addition, we invite the exchange students at Hanken in Vaasa to Casa for an eventful weekend Our exchange students and buddies are prioritized for these trips, but it's always worth keeping an eye out for open spots.
Our events kick off as soon as the exchange students arrive in Helsinki, starting with Get2gethers where exchange students get to know each other and our tutors They are also introduced to the sitz culture with our traditional Welcome Dinner. As usual, we also organize a Techno Night, a pub crawl, sports events, a sauna night, and several other events throughout the semester. All of these events are open to Hanken students and YOU are more than welcome to join us!
In addition to the events we organize here in Helsinki, EC also organizes trips every semester. go
Does EC sound like something for you? Great! EC recruits twice a year, at the end of each semester. While waiting for the application in December, you are more than welcome to join our events. Experience SHS from a different perspective, and of course get to know our wonderful exchange students. In EC, each semester is full of new experiences and friendships that are enriched by the incredible community!
With that said, I want to wish you the best of luck and have a wonderful fall!
We look forward to seeing you during events,
Alina Hellström President of the Exchange Committee
Hello freshman!
The Information you to Hanken an life! During the fa impossible to rem are here to capture these moments!
INK is the student union’s own media group, and besides photographing events, our most important task is to publish the student union’s own magazine, Hankeiten, four times a year. In the magazine, you can read about everything from student life to current events and everything in between.
As a member of INK, you get to use your creative skills in practice! You will learn to use various programs like Canva and Lightroom, layout, write, photograph, and edit pictures. Whether you have previous experience or not, the most important thing is a genuine interest, because everything can be learned and we arrange internal training sessions! The best thing about INK is that we are a small committee, which often makes us a very close and tight-knit group!
nternal parties and tion of Hankeiten,
INKs recruitment opens later in the fall, so keep your eyes open!
A tip: To get a good picture of student life at Hanken, read Hankeiten on Issuu.com. And if you ever wonder what an event was like in previous years, check out old event photos on Flickr.com!

Hello Fresher!
The Sports Committee (also known as IK) warmly welcomes you to Hanken! We are a group of enthusiastic students who organize sports events to help you find the perfect balance between studying, partying, and sports.
The Sports Committee (IK) organises both bigger and smaller sports events that are open to all SHS members We often collaborate with other committees, clubs and schools! IK hosts bigger events such as Pinktober Charity Run, which supports the Breast Cancer Foundation and the Academic Classic (ice hockey) in the fall. During spring we also host Wappubowl a football tournament between different schools.
Additionally, we also arrange smaller events such as Sweat of the Month, where you have the opportunity to meet new people while doing sports together
You are always welcome to reach out to us if you have ideas for sports we could try together.
In order to not miss these fun events, follow us on Instagram (@shsidrottskommitteen) or Facebook (SHS Idrottskommittén) If you have any questions, feel free to contact anyone from IK.

Hello gulis and welcome to Hanken,
Congratulations on your study place and hope you had a great summer and are excited for the coming academic year. Gulishösten is for enjoying student life and getting to know a lot of wonderful people, and my best tip to get the most out of this is to participate in as much as you can.
International Helsinki Days (IHD) is an international seminar week organized every year at Hanken. In addition to the elected committee of about 20 people, 20-30 international students participate in the week. Students from dozens of countries come to Helsinki to get an insight into Finnish business and student life and form memories for life.
Last year's highlights included company visits to Fazer, Miltton and Kesko, as well as an unforgettable furniture tour and lots of fun sessions! This year, the week is organized for the 38th time and the expectations for the week are justifiably sky high.
The absolute best thing about IHD is the community and memories you create together with your committee and all the wonderful guests Apply if you want to help organize the best week of your studies and experience one of Hanken's most fun traditions!
Oscar af Forselles President of IHD 2025

In addition to the annual ball, we also organize other notable dinners: the Kårpampsmiddag, which takes place every two years, the SHS Board changeover dinner, and any rector, inspector and curator changeover dinners. soon
As soon as the annual party has ended and the glitter has settled, it is time to gather a new committee. Morjens!
My name is Jesper Rajakangas and I am in my fourth year at Hanken, majoring in finance. At the moment, I have a seat on the Executive Board of SHS as the Head of Corporate Relations, and therefore I also act as the Chairman of the Business Committee (NU) in 2024.
This fall you will start studying at a well-qualified and highly appreciated business school, Hanken, but at the same time you will also become a member of the world's most fun student union, SHS! (This has a logical explanation, not something we just like to throw around.) The study time is not only about the studying itself, but also about the whole academic life you can experience on the side. For me personally, Casa has become a second home and a place where I create memories and contacts that can last a lifetime! In addition to creating a network of contacts among your fellow students, it is also good to start getting acquainted with the business world and the opportunities available to you as a future graduate from Hanken. This is where NU and my role as Head of CoRe comes in. It is us in NU who function as the bridging link between students and the business world.
We promote contact with the business community by organizing various events together with our corporate partners and through promoting companies when they are recruiting new talent. We often organize company-specific events, but also larger events such as the Hanken Network Day in September, and Career Kick-start in November (which is a new event that will be super exciting for us in the committee to organize!) Follow us on Instagram @nu shs and the student union's LinkedIn to keep up with the latest news!
In exchange for companies meeting you incredible students, and promoting themselves as possible employers for you, they support the Student Union monetarily These business partnerships are one of the most important sources of income for the Student Union. So in addition to giving you a better insight into the business world and an opportunity to meet recruiters at different companies, these collaborations help us enjoy everything else that SHS produces, for free or for a slightly cheaper price tag!
Do you find the activities of the Business Committee interesting? Then I can recommend that you apply to join the Overalls team! The Overalls team (Swe: Halarteamet) consists of freshmen and members from NU who together search for sponsors for this fall's edition of the student overalls, i.e. the ones that you will hopefully get to use during your studies. If you reach a certain amount of sponsorship (not much), you will get your own overall for free What a deal! Keep your eyes open for the recruitment ;)
Once again: Congratulations! Be proud that you got a study place and enjoy your freshers' autumn and your entire time at Hanken. As we say in Swenglish, "there are omtents (exam re-takes) but no omfests (re-parties)", don't forget that!
Hugs!
Jesper Rajakangas Chairperson of the Business Committee 2024
Hi Freshers,
So nice that you've found your way to SHS and Hanken. Here you'll make some of your best memories!
There are plenty of things to get involved in at SHS. The Interest Representation Committee, or IBU, is for those who are curious about student national and municipal advocacy. Our committee supports the board's work with interest representation at SHS. Interest representation might be a completely new term for you, so let me explain! It’s a summarized term for monitoring our members' interests. The SHS board and its committees work extensively on issues concerning students' financial situations, well-being, and rights.
Lobbying and interest representation are actively carried out in the collaborative organizations that SHS is involved with or interested in – for example, the National Union of University Students in Finland, Finnish Business School Graduates, Student Health Services, HOAS, and World Student Capital, among others. It's important that students' voices are heard, because as you may know, we are the future ;)
Issues that SHS has taken a stand on include, among other things, raising the income limits for students and transitioning students away from the general housing allowance. IBU meets regularly to discuss current matters
Are you interested in joining? IBU always welcomes new members; you can join by sending a message to jonatan.stenberg@shs.fi, no lengthy application required. You are always more than welcome to come and chat about everything or nothing!
Get excited for Gulis autumn, see you there!
Jonatan Stenberg Chairperson of the Advocacy Committee 2024
When studying at a university, you have constitutionally mandated opportunities to influence your daily life. You have the chance to be ac-tive and express your opinion about studies, so that education develops into the best version for us students. To make an impact, it some-imes takes more than just one student with a voice, and that is where the Education Committee comes in. By law, the student union has the right to have representation in all or-gans of the university, and this is handled by the so-called student representatives.
The Education Committee primarily consists of these student representatives, around 40 in total, on both the Helsinki and Vaasa cam-puses. Their activities are coordinated by the Education Committee's board and chairman These student representatives include, for ex-ample, IR representatives (department council representatives, who handle subject-specific issues) Other organs you can sit on include the Education Council (UR) and the University Board. Representatives for these organs are always selected when there is a need, and announcements about when this is needed are published on shs.fi. The assignment often provides a fee and offers the opportunity to net-work with many of the student union activists.
The Education Committee is not exclusively made up of student representatives; anyone who wants to influence their education and, for example, has a clever idea is welcome. We are a relatively new committee (founded at the turn of 2015–2016), so we still have a lot to develop, and therefore I encourage you to join and make a difference!
You can find us on Facebook @SHS Utbildningsutskott and Instagram @uu shs.

Hi there!
In the Committee of Social Affairs (SOPO) we focus on working with students' well-being and interests both internally and externally. The committee offers events and services to our members that promote wellbeing in one way or another. At SHS, promoting wellbeing means working on many different levels and addressing various aspects of wellbeing: mental, physical, social, sexual and financial wellbeing, and more.
The committee has been in place for two years so events and services are still developing. Events that have been organized include Wellbeing Week, which is held both in the autumn and spring, Pride, charity talks and mindfulness exercises. Student life is hectic with studies, parties and interesting activities and it can be very stressful. The aim of the committee is to ease that. Other social affairs the committee is working on include monitoring interest with UniSport and the DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) plan with Hanken
The members of the SOPO help with organizing events and lobbying both within and in cooperation with Hanken and other external interests. During meetings we discuss and brainstorm how these issues should be handled The most important thing is that we hear different opinions and that we have an interest in working on these issues The committee also works on equality and the prevention of harassment.
If you have ideas or want to get involved, you can email aliisa.lunden@shs.fi, or give me a shout at the Kåren! You can find the latest news on social policy, equality work and student benefits and services on Instagram at @shsmoments and @sopoutskottet
Enjoy your summer and then your study time!
See you soon!
Aliisa Lundén Chairperson of
the Committee of Social Affairs 2024

The purpose of the club is to create a community among those with interests in economics at Hanken. We aim to establish an inclusive, supportive, environment where members can share knowledge, experiences and insights within the field. Additionally, we strive to serve as a channel for companies to inform our members about career opportunities and for students to find their own careeer path.
Do you tend to be the Kobe Bryant of the beer pong table at every party? Or maybe an ubeatable hypeman to have on the side?
Hanken Beer Pong exists to ensure that all Hankeits have more and better events and parties with beer pong as the focus but also other similar drinking games are played at our parties, so don’t worry if beer pong is not your forte. The board consists of 15 students with a burning passion for participating in various drinking games. However, the aim of our activities is not to compete in the Olympic Games so we focus more on having fun. You can expect outdoor events when the weather is nice, but the plan is also to organize tournaments between other schools and subject associations, so if you know any teknologer or codexare, we can arrange the chance to find out who is better for good.
Keep an eye out for our activities on Instagram @hankenbeerpong and on Facebook to keep up with our events and get updates on when the application for the club open Win or lose, we booze!

Are you interested in statistics and strategy? Do you want to learn how to use the statistical knowledge that math teachers have forced into your brain? Do you want to be a part of building something big? Hankstats is a newly founded club with the goal of helping the students at Hanken to improve their strategies in various situations using statistics and mathematics.
Our activities mainly consist of internal events, but we also organize open game nights and at least one larger event per semester. Our events vary greatly, from more casual gatherings at Legenda to more formal events at Casa Our goal is to organize diverse events, so that there is something for everyone to enjoy
We have big plans, which among other things, include a larger trip. This means that there is still an opportunity for you to be involved and influence what our activities can include!
Cellar nights were word everyone kn decade ago A bus ness that everyone knew and that was close to a Hankeits heart. Events to gather to socialize, meet new people and enjoy good drinks. But the question that remains today is; What is a so-called cellar night and who are the people you find behind the bar?
Down in Casa's deepest basement corner, a new club was formed, founded during the pandemic, and they started calling Legenda, the Corps' own bomb shelter, their new hangout. The organization consists of a few members of varying study ages. This enigmatic organization calls itself Källargardet (KG).
KG's purpose is to contribute to the well-being and community of the student union by organizing cellar evenings in Legenda and thus promoting SHS beer culture This is done by arranging regular basement evenings for all SHS students. Events that we organize include the Beer Khalifa tournament and Oktoberfest, but also old classics such as the 100 club and caps.
This is made possible because the gardists (a member of the KG) live by the following principles: the party is over when the glasses are empty and it's never wrong to drink in the middle of the week.
We also take the opportunity to welcome you to Hanken and look forward to a fast-paced autumn with you Follow us on IG to get

Svenska ekonomie studenters stiftelse, ab , pp s the social, societal, intellectual and study-related ambitions of Hankeits. The Foundation can fulfill its purpose by supporting students during their studies, in entrepreneurship or at the beginning of their career. In addition, the Foundation supports initiatives to organize events between students and alumni, initiatives related to the health and well-being of students, and other activities that further the Foundation's purpose. The Foundation primarily supports causes that benefit several people rather than individuals.
The Foundation also owns the so-called student union companies: Svecasa and Casa Securities (IB bookstore) Svecasa organizes helps students prepare to the entrance exam to Hanken with their prep-course and the IB bookstore you will surely visit already in the fall to buy print credits, study materials or the student union's products for the good life!
The Foundation is also a partner in the company Academic Business Consulting, which actually is a course you can take at Hanken at master's level. The course simulates consulting work and your task is to sell a project and work together with a company. As a reward (under normal circumstances), the course group has gone on a trip abroad together and made company visits to the destination.

Finnish students use overalls called halare, during their studies at a university. It was originally the teknologs (teekkari = student of institutes of technology) who started using the overalls outside their machine shops at parties and other less official events. Not long after, around 1974, SHS came up with a blue overall. However, it was replaced the very next year by the current white one. Although the overall will remain white only for a little while after Halarutdelningen because while overalls you can ignore where and when you sit, crawl, sleep, swim - you name it. Everyone remembers how nice it was as a child to splash in the mud without worrying about your clothes.
Decorating & embellishing
The overall should, and will, get other colors on it than all the shades of spilled beer, cider and other surprises that get stuck on it when you crawl around at parties. A colorful addition to the overalls are the so-called badges (read: overall badges). A certain custom determines how to wear them on the overall and these rules should preferably not be broken. The SHS badge is placed at the end of the right sleeve, after which you can decorate it with the badges of other student unions, e.g. Vasahanken, KY, Stockholm School of Economics (Handels/HHSS), etc. In addition, there are back badges that you get when you are active in the student union. There are some overall badges for sale at the IB. Another fun way to get badges is of course by going to events, as many events also include a badge. This way, you'll remember what you attended even at the end of your studies, as the badges will be like little mementos from each party.
Another tradition is to exchange overall parts, such as collars, sleeves and pockets with other students. In the old days, the exchange was a sign of erotic exercise with each other, and this tradition still partly holds today. It is therefore a good idea to bring scissors with you. A needle and thread is also recommended, as it can be a bit chilly, especially in -25C, to walk home without the end of your left overall leg.
On the hopefully many endeavours with your dirty white colored halare, other things also tend to get stuck on the it. It's handy to have basics like bottle openers and a toothbrush with you. You can find tips for these and other things in some recent issues of Hankeiten (also on Issuu com), under the article title "What's on X’s overall?".
Please read the following very carefully: the overall you wear must never be washed! The dirtier and smellier it is, the more you are appreciated. This proves that you are a hard-core party animal who has been through a lot (of untsunts). The overall is thus a kind of raincoatmudpantsastronautswimsuit. There is an exception, and even in extreme cases. The only way to clean up the overall is to pour on some liquid pine soap and then jump into the sea But note, only in case of emergency! (Like when the dance floor is empty when you come in stinking )
If you're wondering where and when you can wear this unique piece of fashion, the answer is clear: it's worn at overall parties, absolutely not at nonoverall parties or at Hanken (the building itself). The most important one is of course Wappen, from Valborgsmässoafton April 30th to early May 2nd, as it is one of the celebrations when people make physical contact with nature for the first time after the long winter. In addition, the overall is also good at zillis, e.g. after the annual party. At a overall party, you should definitely wear your overall. Only boring people and fancy know-it-alls consider themselves too grown-up for that. Then they swear the next day when the tie smells bad
When you finally receive your overall later in the fall, remember these details when you put the cloth to use. The overall will be awarded when you have completed your time as a gulis and when you have earned enough gulispoints. Once you have been awarded the overall, you should remember these tips and rules as required by tradition. This will guarantee you many unforgettable (and forgettable) overall parties and a sense of belonging with everyone wearing the same overall. Once you've graduated from Hanken and you're done with the student union life and hanging out with the “pathetics” (pateter), you can still continue to use your overall. All it takes is a little creativity or you can hope that another ex-student will write their tips to Niksi-Pirkka.
Partying is a big part of the student culture in Finland. In our student union SHS, different committees organise various parties, and there is something for everyone The most common type of partying is called a “Sitz”. A sitz is basically a three course dinner where all the students eat, drink and sing songs while sitting together at long tables. The food is usually more like snacks, so make sure you eat beforehand. Your drink rations consist of a shot, some wine and a beer or cider, but depending on the sits you can bring your own alcohol or buy some The songs which are sung are called “snapsvisor”. These are short songs you sing before you take a shot. The songs can be found in a songbook, which you can buy at the IB at school, but don’t worry, you will learn them fast!
A sitz is always held at our dear Casa-building. Casa Academica is not only our party place, but is also the Student Union’s home
Time: Varies, usually 19
Location: Casa, of course
There are many spaces in Casa that Student Union members have at their disposal during their years at Hanken, namely: Kåren, Casa, Legenda, Femman and the Sauna All of these spaces are different and are used for different purposes. All of these spaces can be booked for free by any SHS member. We will introduce you to all these spaces in the beginning of the fall.
In between all the exams and assignments, we sitz regularly. As a freshman, everything is new and you are forgiven for any mistakes, but when you are no longer one of the newbies, you should know how to sitz. Here is a description of how a well-behaved Hanken student should behave during a sits. In order to avoid clichés, I'll skip a lot of anecdotes and lead directly with a practical example.
Attire: Snäppet snyggare (smart suit or dress), unless otherwise stated (skip anything that says "sweatpants" or "trainers”. Only wear your halare (overalls) if specifically stated.
The time 19:00 means that you arrive between 19:00 and 19:10. The most fussy ones show up at 19:15 (the academic quarter, you know), to avoid giving the impression that they were standing outside the door the window (and writing nasty things in the fog) for the last hour You arrive well dressed, and don't smell of booze (yet). If you have a guest with you, you naturally make an entrance with them
Once inside the Casa hall, you are supposed to mingle with the other guests This time before dinner is a good time to check out the seating arrangements, so that you don't wander around the room when it's time to go to table. This is of course not done until the hostess announces it.
When you arrive at your seat, you introduce yourself to your tablemate and smile your most beautiful smile. You wait for the hostess/host to sit down, after which the gentlemen help their lady to her chair When this is done, the gentleman also sits down. The food is not touched until you have sung "Helan går" "Helan", and all other songs, are led by the toastmasters. The toastmaster is introduced by the the host/hostess when everyone is seated The toastmaster is the only one who brings in a song. If the toastmaster calls on someone else on the tables to bring in a song, the specially chosen one sings a song (or something like that). After each song, you toast as follows: One raises the glass to face height First you toast to the person diagonally to the left of you, then diagonally to the right of you and finally to the person right in front you
Sounds a bit complicated, doesn't it? Don't worry, you'll learn this quickly. The important thing is that you look each other in the eyes and smile as you toast, and the rest will fall into place. During dinner, it's important to keep up a polite conversation (or pointless bullshit), but when the toast rings the glass, it's time for singing, and then everyone should be silent. If the singing starts without silence it's time for the restart, which can take quite a long time. Since smoking is banned indoors, you go outside if you want to get a breath of fresh air (through a filter) However, this only happens AFTER coffee.
When the music is turned on, dinner is over (standing on the table is absolutely forbidden and will result in heavy fines) and the “jatkon” (read: afterparty) begins I'm not going to go into detail about how after-parties work, because I hope that you know this At most probably you will wake up some morning with some "morkkis" (moral hangover), but then just think that they happen to to most people! The most important thing is that you have fun and respect the others!
Those are the most important things, not that hard right? Just go with the flow and enjoy how your table company becomes blurrier and more beautiful.
