Algebra 1

Algebra 1 will be introduced with an in-depth review of pre-algebra and build on that foundation to introduce the new concepts in this course. This course covers: simplifying and evaluating expressions, solving equations and systems of equations, graphing linear equations and inequalities, factoring polynomials and operations of polynomials, statistical models, quadratic functions, and much more. Students will be adequately prepared for further study in Geometry and Algebra 2.

Geometry

Geometry will cover all the necessary material for a high school-level geometry course. This course covers: points, lines, segments, planes, angles, deductive reasoning, transformations, perpendicular and parallel lines, similarity and congruence of triangles, properties of quadrilaterals and circles, finding surface area and volume of solids, the foundational principles of trigonometry, probability, and more. After completing this course, they will be adequately prepared for the geometry portion of the ACT and further study in Algebra 2.

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is designed to teach students critical thinking skills, so they can become successful problem solvers. Students will build upon the foundation that was built in Algebra 1 and the applications that were learned in Geometry. This course covers: solving equations and inequalities with one or two variables, solving quadratic equations, polynomial functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, rational expressions and equations, radicals, complex numbers, conic sections, basic trigonometry, and more. Students will be adequately prepared for further study in Advanced Math.

Precalculus

Precalculus builds on concepts introduced in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. Students will review concepts such as linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic equations. They will also work on series, sequences, matrices, polynomial graphs, solving systems of equations, polar coordinates, and complex numbers. They will spend several chapters on trigonometry including solving equations, graphing, and simplifying using trigonometric identities.

Advanced Mathematics

Advanced Mathematics provides a comprehensive and multi-layered exploration of algebraic and trigonometric principles. After completion of this course, students will have studied the following concepts: solving equations and inequalities with one or two variables, equations of lines, parallel and perpendicular lines, solving quadratic equations, graphing polynomial functions, polynomial operations, exponential and logarithmic functions, rational expressions and equations, conic sections, basic trigonometry, sequences and series, and more.

Statistics (Dual Enrollment)*

Statistics will introduce the concepts of descriptive measures, elementary probability, sampling, random variables, discrete probability distributions, normal probability distributions, and introduction to inference theory. Students will analyze, compute, and graph data; compute the probability; distinguish between discrete and continuous random variables; compute the mean and standard deviation; estimate population parameters; apply the basic concepts of statistical inference to the decision making process; delve into hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and least-squares regression line; and use the statistical software package Minitab. *minimum ACT score required

College Algebra (Dual Enrollment)* College Algebra builds on the skills learned in Algebra 1 and 2 at the college level. This course covers functions (e.g., polynomial, exponential, and logarithmic), zeros of polynomials, solutions of systems of equations and inequalities, as well as selected topics from algebra such as matrices and determinants, partial fractions, and the binomial theorem. Students will cover domain and range, operations on functions, inverses, symmetry, exponentials, logarithms, graphs of polynomials, rational functions, systems of equations (linear and non-linear), linear programming, and matrices. *minimum ACT score required

Calculus (Dual Enrollment)*

Calculus covers functions, limits, derivatives, and integrals. Application of derivatives includes rate of change, curve sketching, local extrema, points of inflection, velocity, acceleration, related rates, and optimization. Applications of integrals include area, average value, distance, displacement, and volume. *minimum ACT score required 15
