Fatima is a 16-year-old girl born in Calabria to Muslim parents. She, like many girls her age, lives through a period fi lled with confl icts and emotions. However, she feels as if there is something different about her which often leads her to be alone, left out by her peers, and feeling constantly out of place. Until one day the PE teacher, Michele Scimone, proposes to all his students the opportunity of enrolling in the Sant'Antonio’s marathon. This unexpected opportunity sparks the interest of Fatima, who is now determined to race. Michele, closed-off former Calabrian marathon runner, is struck by the determination and vitality of a teenager. Despite the initial misunderstanding and prejudices, the race will be the beginning of a relationship that will change their lives.

Mario Vitale is an Italian director, screenwriter, and producer, who has worked on several award-winning short fi lms; among them “Il tuffo“ (2014), “Il miracolo“ (2015), and “Al giorno d'oggi il lavoro te lodevi inventare“ (2016). In 2021, he debuted in the theatres as director and screenwriter of “L’afi de e la formica“.
