Rockin’ Rock Boffin

There’s something about living and working with crystals that is simply special. When I came across Bianca McGuirk whose life is crystals, it was worth digging a little deeper into her life.
Who is Bianca?
“I am the eldest daughter in my family, I have children, am a crazy cat lady, love Australian music, travelling and would happily live under a rock. I am SheEarth’s resident Rock Boffin. I say rock boffin rather than Gemmologist because, whilst I am a certified Gemmologist and Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Australia (FGAA), my interest and experience with gems goes far beyond the scientific identification and classification of stones.”
What got you interested in gems, rocks and crystals?
“My family have collected and worked with stones for generations and some of my earliest memories are playing with nana and pop’s gems in the back shed. I have always been captivated by them: even if it wasn’t my profession, I’d always work with stones in one way or another.”
Has your family been involved in crystals all their lives?
“Yes, for many generations. My great-great-great grandmother was one of the first female jewellers in Melbourne and my mum grew up travelling around Australia fossicking for gemstones – it is very much in our blood.”
Why Gemmology?
“I am an eccentric scientist at heart and have always had an inquisitive mind. At school I focused on science subjects and have always had a gift for identifying stones; I could look at a stone and tell you what it was straight away. So, when we started our business and I had other people in the industry bringing stones to me to identify, it was a natural progression to formerly study gemmology.”
Working in a crystal shop, what’s the tie up between the physical crystals and spiritual nature of crystals in your life?
“My family’s business is based upon our love of gems and we all have our own avenue of interest. For me, I particularly enjoy the intersection between the scientific and metaphysical use of gemstones. For example, Kunzite is a beautiful stone that can be difficult to obtain, as much of it goes to the medical industry as a source of Lithium for antidepressants. Metaphysically it is used to boost mental health and wellbeing. It’s where the scientific and metaphysical uses align that I find really interesting.”
What would be your favourite crystal?
“I don’t have just one. I have a whole list and, like most people, I go through phases where I am super keen on certain stones then move forward to others. Some of my all-time favourite minerals are Amazonite, Chrysoprase, Charoite, Carnelian, Amber, Dioptase, Kunzite and Lepidolite. I own far too many pieces of each; I could coat myself in them and it still wouldn’t be enough.
“Oh, and I think everybody should own a piece of Black Tourmaline – it’s a Must. Everyone needs at least one good piece of Tourmaline in their life!”
In your experience, why are people fascinated with crystals?
“I think, with the advancements in technology and how much time we spend staring at screens indoors, people are craving to get back to basics and reconnect with nature. Gemstones are a beautiful way to achieve that. Also, I think we are just intuitively drawn to what we need. Usually, when a stone grabs your attention and you look it up, you’ll see it is exactly the one you need. Always go with your instincts.”
When people are looking for crystals, do they know exactly what they want, or do they ask for specific advice?
“When people come in-store they often have a purpose in mind but don’t know which stone or stones to go for, so we will show them several, explaining the purpose of each one, whilst encouraging people to go with the one that draws them. Even if you are choosing a stone for someone else, you visualise that person in your mind’s eye so you are essentially plugging into them and can choose which specific piece suitable for them. The great thing is, there is no right or wrong - just what is best for you.”
How do you recommend people care for their crystals?
“It depends on the stone and how it’s being used.
It is important to be mindful that not all stones are water-friendly, so if you want to energetically cleanse your stones, use them as an elixir or even just give them a physical clean, you should double-check that they water resistant first. Water can physically damage the stone and can even cause a reaction on a chemical level, resulting in something not so great, especially if ingested.”

Who do you find buys crystals?
“People from all walks of life use crystals for all sorts of reasons. There is often a misconception that it is only new-age hippies who are into gems, or that they are specimen pieces or used in lapidary work. However, it’s not just scientists or energy workers who use them. People come to us that use them as
items of cultural significance, landscapers and builders or construction workers who use them both as physical tools and visual feature pieces, teachers and counsellors who use gems as a form of therapy for their physical feel and texture, different religions, including mainstream, use various stone for rituals or rites of passage, and artists and interior designers often want a piece purely for its aesthetics. We really do see people from all walks of life using gems for every purpose you can imagine.”

The Rise and Fall of Atlantis & Lemuria

Infinite ideas exist about Lemuria, Atlantis, Ancient Aliens and inexplicable structures around the Earth. Even with today’s building technologies, we’re still unable to move stone blocks of such mammoth size or replicate many of the geometries, perfect measurements, cuts and fit of the stones.
Whilst today the internet is host to mountains of channelled information, books and docu-series on the subject, over centuries these conundrums have led to misinterpretations, leaving many archaeologists and scientists scratching their heads.
Generally, Lemuria (Mu) is considered as a utopian civilization and, although they achieved a time of high-consciousness, most in that era were not truly in physical bodies. Rather they were in an etheric state and did not face the difficulties required of life in Earthly physicality. Through the accounts I have researched, it’s agreed that Lemuria never achieved the advanced level that existed in Atlantis’s Golden Age of 40,000 BC to 18,000 BC: the time when gods walked with men and all knew joyful expression.
The origins of the Atlantis mystery hark back to Plato, the Athenian classical period philosopher from Ancient Greece.
Plato describes Atlantis as an island nation in his dialogues Timaeus and Critias. Since then it’s become the object of fascination among western philosophers and historians for around 2400 years. Plato (c.424 - 328BC) describes Atlantis as a spiritually and technologically advanced, powerful kingdom, which apparently sank into the ocean over a night and a day around 9600 BC. The ancient Greeks couldn’t agree whether Plato’s story was meant to be interpreted as historical fact or metaphor.
Since the 19th C, there’s been inspirational insight into the connection between Plato’s Atlantis and historical locations. The most popular of these being the Greek island of Santorini, destroyed by a volcanic eruption around 1600 BC.
Plato describes Atlantis as an island larger than Libya and Asia Minor combined, referencing its location in the Atlantic, just beyond the Pillars of Hercules. This is generally interpreted as the Strait of Gibraltar and protected by the God Poseidon, who elevated his son Atlas to kingship and namesake of the island and
the Atlantic Ocean that surrounded it.
As Atlantians grew increasingly powerful, it’s said that their ethics declined. According to Plato, their armies conquered Africa as far as Egypt and into Europe as far as Tyrrhenia (Etruscan Italy), before being driven back by an Athenian led alliance. Sometime later, by way of ‘divine punishment,’ the island was beset by earthquakes and floods and sank into a muddy sea. Other channelled accounts tell that the second deluge in 17,500 BC was the final phase of Atlantis.
The Utopian Golden Age subsided and Atlantis split into five islands. The three major islands, known as Poseida, Aryan and Og. The two smaller islands were under the rule of the Aryan Race - Atalya and Eyre. The benevolent government ‘rule by a Kingdom,’ passed into the phase of a confederation - state governments in present terms, who ruled each of the islands. An aristocracy of sorts evolved, that consisted of two opposing ideologies; the Atla-Ra Scientist Priesthood of the ‘Law-ofOne’, based predominantly on the Isle of Poseida and the Aryan Race of ‘The Sons of Belial’ based on the Isle of Aryan. The island of Aryan exerted influence and political control over Og, Atalya and Eyre and so on it goes until present time.
Other famous accounts of Atlantis include those of Edgar Cayce, considered one of the most prolific prophets of our time and often compared to Nostradamus. He was actually far more prolific and accurate than Nostradamus, with his 14,000 plus readings. Cayce gave psychic readings for people that were in great difficulty or suffering and also prophesised world events, past and future, including the Lost City of Atlantis. His specific detailed predictions and visions on Atlantis concerned its discovery, history and destruction. He said that a new land would appear in 1968/9, off the east coast of North America, the “rising of Atlantis.” During that time ‘Bimini Road’ was discovered in the Atlantic Ocean and is still debated today.
Every account describes Lemuria as watery and Atlantis as filled with crystalline structures and technology.
In all of my years of researching this subject, there is one account, which made sense out of all of the reading from the Crystal Dreaming™ sessions. The account is that of Justin
Moikeha Asar, creator of The Liquid Crystals™, an involved story, which I’ll outline briefly. Justin on his website explains that the Pleiadeans mastered water, H2O to a high spiritual level: Liquid Light Technology (LLT), with no equal in its ability to direct, magnify and retain ‘The Source of all’ or God. Through this Pleiadeans became the most revered healers in the universe.
Mastery of H2O meant that a being of free will could create anything. They created a perfect world with vast water for The Light Bearers of the United Universe, a race of beings who were willing to come closer to 3D form than ever before.
The Pleiadeans travelled to Nibiru, described as Earth’s sister planet, where three races feline, reptilian and bird, holding the three virtues of Source - Love, Power and Wisdom were at war with one another. Their dependence on one another for balance, created separation due to their judgement, having forgotten their purpose to unite and carry their physically perfected virtues back to Oneness.
They decided to extract the essences of Love, Power and Wisdom, by means of LLT, to create a single race holding all three virtues, as would all life on the ‘perfect world’ they were creating. From this the blueprint for the human race was manifested.
In Lemuria there was no dis-ease, the most drastic of delusions being a lack in integrity and alignment to one’s physical body, the Earth Light. This misalignment was healed using seven Master Crystals, a mixture of geometry and LLT, created by a priesthood due to the secret desire of Lemurians to enter Earthly physicality, where the absolute had not yet been mastered, and this judgement changed everything. Using free will, Lemurians began to take ownership of crystals and they made their way onto land and Atlantis.
Once 57 percent of Lemurians entered the physical, the ability to hold the etheric watery Lemuria had to be surrendered to the Universe. This was a one-way ticket and those who were not rescued by the Galactic Federation, returned to Oneness.
Those that made it to land, built the foundations of Atlantis, but many were lost to the dis-eases that the Earth was creating to curb the trend to physicality.
In the Universe, Lemuria and Earth was seen as a work of art, complete in every way, aligned with the Source of all. It remained as such for 1000’s of years - the light of the Universe - the Garden of Eden. Lemuria was an ancient intergalactic name for all of the water-covered surfaces of Earth. The surface was forbidden and it was understood that if one entered the world beyond the sea, they could never return. We now re-enact the story of leaving the water every time a child is born and takes its first breath.
In the new world Atlantis, the Lemurians desired to recreate Lemuria in the physical, yet had a large set of new challenges. Dis-eases required new minerals and this sparked a movement toward new healing and mining abilities. The more advanced they became at solving dis-ease, the bigger the dis-ease challenges that presented and the scientists were successful for some time.
Atlantis was not just one island, nor was it a number of them with one city. It was the whole land mass on Earth (Urantia) and the Atlantian’s were the beings who lived there.
A group of Atlantian’s, now known as the HighPriesthood (HP), were dedicated to the old Lemurian principles. As in Mu, they made LLT from each new crystal that the Earth offered as a cure to dis-ease. Members of the HP evolved to a level spiritually that had not been seen in the Universe before. Their high water content and their embrace of the three virtues, truly made them gods on Earth. They built 10 temples and cities surrounded by circular walls, as they remembered from Mu with each city a centre for learning principles for life and spirituality.
As technology increased and healing progressed, so did dis-ease. The Earth, too young, tried in vain to hold the Atlantian race. Things on Earth were coming to breaking point and at about that time the HP was infiltrated by a group with a hidden agenda, one linked heavily into technology. Instead of continuing to create The Liquid Crystals to cure, the new faction was focused on creating a new genetic adaptation, hence Noah’s ark. Unfortunately, this broke natural law and sealed the demise of Atlantis.
Thoth took the reins as he was the wisest and as soon as he was able, he transcended into light, becoming the key guiding light to human civilisation, guiding many of the great minds that have since been born.
Eventually Earth couldn’t sustain Atlantian culture and in an act of self-love, dissolved itself in cataclysms of quakes, wind, water and fire.
Record keeper crystals were the means by which the Lemurians and Atlantians stored information for the generations to come, to ensure they would have a greater chance of ascension, leaving the errors of the past behind.
