November 1st officially kicked off Open Enrollment for 2026 ACA Marketplace health plans and for many under age 65, this season is bringing some serious sticker shock. Across Florida and much of the country, individuals and families are discovering that their Obamacare (ACA) premiums have jumped dramatically — some even doubling or tripling compared to last year.
I’m Carol Foley, a Licensed Insurance Agent & Medicare Specialist, and I’ve already had several clients come to me in disbelief at the numbers they’re seeing. One of my first ACA meetings this season was about a gentleman recently diagnosed with Cancer — his premium went up 150% overnight. The very next appointment was a family of six whose new monthly premium was quoted at $3,700 — an amount that’s simply unaffordable for most middle-class families.
Unfortunately, these aren’t isolated cases. This year, the combination of shrinking federal subsidies and rising insurance company costs is hitting many ACA policyholders hard. While the Affordable Care Act marketplace has been a lifeline for millions since 2014, the reality for 2026 is that many Americans are now priced out of their own “affordable” coverage.
Just recently, Politico reported on Florida residents facing staggering rate increases. One Miami woman, Francoise Cham, said her premiums are set to rise 250 percent, leaving her unsure how she’ll keep coverage while caring for her parents, brother and daughter.
Another story came from Boynton Beach’s Kara Farley, who previously struggled with medical debt before enhanced federal subsidies began in 2021. Her husband has Type 1 Diabetes, and she’s now undergoing treatment for Malignant Melanoma. “Our premiums are expected to double,” she said. “I honestly don’t know where we’ll find that extra money in our budget.” And Seth Grossman, a Clinical Psychologist from Parkland, shared that he’s already paying $3,000 a month to cover his family, including a son with Autism. In 2026, his premiums will jump to $4,500 a month.
These stories are heartbreaking — but
they also highlight a growing truth: without a fix to the ACA Marketplaces, more working families will be forced to forgo coverage altogether.
If you’re under 65 and enrolled in an ACA Marketplace plan, you simply cannot afford to “auto-renew” this year. Even if your plan worked for you last year, changes in subsidies, networks, or drug formularies could cost you thousands in 2026.
Here’s what I tell every client:
• Premiums have changed dramatically.* * Even small income adjustments can cause big swings in your federal tax credit.
• Networks shift every year.** Your preferred doctors or hospitals might no longer be covered under your old plan.
• Drug coverage isn’t static.** Many ACA plans have modified their formularies, changing which medications are covered and at what tier.
• The federal subsidy structure may not help everyone.** Many middle-income earners—especially those not eligible for tax credits—are now being priced out of ACA plans altogether.
At Main Line Benefits Co., our team anticipated this pricing surge and prepared by identifying several non-ACA private plan options. These plans are built like traditional employer group health plans, but available to individuals and families outside the federal Marketplace — year-round.
Our private plans use nationwide PPO Networks such as Cigna, PHCS, Blue Cross Blue Shield and for many of our clients, the cost is half—or even one-third— of what an ACA plan would be.
These private options are ideal for individuals and families who don’t qualify for ACA tax credits, business owners and anyone who finds ACA coverage unaffordable. They meet the needs of clients who want freedom of choice in providers, access to major hospitals nationwide and predictable out-of-pocket costs.

Health insurance today is more complex than ever. Choosing the wrong plan—or failing to review your options— can lead to major financial consequences.
That’s where a licensed insurance agent can make all the difference. At Main Line Benefits Co., our guidance is completely free. We represent multiple carriers, not just one and our goal is to help you find the **most cost-effective coverage that fits your unique health and financial situation.
We assist clients with:
• ACA Marketplace Plans
• Private Non-ACA PPO Plans
• Small Group & Self-Employed Plans
• Dental & Vision Coverage
• Supplemental (Cancer, Heart Attack, Stroke) Plans
• Life, Disability & Long-Term Care
Our consultations are no-cost, noobligation and available 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the Open Enrollment period.
Even if you feel confident in your current plan, this is the year to schedule a quick review. During our consultation, we’ll look at:
• Whether your doctors and medications remain covered at an affordable rate
• How your premium and subsidy will
• If a private PPO plan might better fit your needs or budget
• What additional savings or coverage options might apply to you
Healthcare is not one-size-fits-all. With significant changes ahead in 2026, doing nothing is no longer a safe choice. Whether you’re enrolled in an ACA Marketplace plan or exploring private coverage, this year’s Open Enrollment requires action.
At Main Line Benefits Co., our mission is to guide you through those choices—at no cost to you. Let us help you navigate these changes, protect your coverage, and ensure you’re getting the best value for your healthcare dollar.

To that end, light, fresh dishes abound, including a generous array of Antipasti and Insalate, such as a trio of housemade Mediterranean dips served with housemade focaccia and slow-steamed octopus atop golden hummus with delicately fried polenta to the Cavolo e avocado salad of finely-chopped kale, shredded carrots, cashews, avocado, Parmigiano-Reggiano, housemade croutons and a drizzle of Caesar dressing. As always, Rose’s signature touch shines through: feminine, bold, and delicate. The full cocktail menu is forthcoming.Inspired by Milton’s own name, Rose Cafe captures the essence of the charming cafes she fell in love with across Europe, spaces where romance and beauty come together effortlessly. Designed by Heather Ashton, the 110-seat indoor-outdoor space, features an Art Deco-inspired aesthetic awash in pastel
and pink colors. This design highlights a sense of warm luxury and creates a safe space where every detail tells a story, while still paying homage to Rose Cafe’s spiritual birthplace: Paris.
With giving back as part of Milton’s DNA, she was drawn to the Agape Foundation, a rehabilitation program for women survivors of abuse and substance dependency, through the Seeds of Faith initiative. According to her, “Through this partnership, we collaborate in the cultivation of natural produce in the Agape Garden — and some of those ingredients make their way into our kitchen today. It’s our way of saying that we can all be reborn — with dignity, support, and real opportunities.”

Stuffed Boneless Pork Loin Roast
Prep time: 40 minutes
Cook time: 95 minutes
Servings: 6
• 1 Coleman Natural boneless pork roast (3-4 pounds)
• 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 1/2 cup diced celery
• 1/2 cup diced carrots
• 1/2 cup diced onions
• 2 large eggs
• 1/2 cup milk
• salt, to taste
• pepper, to taste
• 1 tablespoon fresh sage
• 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
• 2 cups cubed fresh bread, crust removed
• 1 apple, diced
• gravy, for serving
Preheat oven to 375 F. Butterfly roast.
In large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil and butter. Add celery, carrots and onions; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
While vegetables are cooking, whisk eggs; milk; salt, to taste; and pepper, to taste, until well combined. Mince sage and rosemary.
In large bowl, combine bread, vegetable mixture, liquid ingredients, apples, sage and rosemary. Gently toss until bread absorbs most of the liquid.
Cut three pieces of butcher’s twine about 4 inches longer than the longest side of butterflied roast. Lay string on cut-
ting board horizontally and lay roast on top of string to cover.
Place half of the stuffing mixture onto butterflied pork loin and press down firmly. Roll roast up and tie with butcher’s twine to hold it together, taking care not to tie too tightly, and press any stuffing that comes loose back into ends of roast.
Place stuffed and tied roast, fat cap up, on rack over baking sheet. Season liberally with salt and pepper; roast until meat thermometer inserted into roast registers 140 F, 75-90 minutes.
Place remaining stuffing in a small ovenproof casserole dish and cover with foil. After roasting 30 minutes, place extra stuffing in oven to cook alongside roast. Remove foil from extra stuffing and remove roast from oven. Let rest for 10 minutes then remove the extra stuffing from oven.
Cut twine from roast and discard. Cut roast into six thick slices, taking care not to lose stuffing. Serve with extra stuffing and gravy.

Welcome to Keller’s Korner. This article will cover the football Head Coach for the University of Washington, Jedd Fisch. He was born on May 5, 1976, in Livingston, New Jersey, is one of the rare Jewish head coaches in major college football. Among the 136 teams in the FBS, Jedd and Ryan Silverfield of Memphis are the only two Jewish head coaches, a fact that highlights both his personal achievement and the small but meaningful presence of Jewish leadership in the sport.
Jedd grew up in Livingston, where he did not play high school football but excelled in Tennis at Hanover Park High School, earning all-State honors. His father, Jeffrey, who played Rennis in college, was a major influence. When I was covering the Maryland vs. Washington football game in October 2025, Jedd told me he still playsTennis today. Jedd credits his parents, Jeffrey and Deby, as they both emphasized education and athletics. After his parents divorced, his mother remarried high school football coach Bill Rocca and being around that football program sparked Jedd’s interest in coaching while he was still in high school. Jedd added, “When I was a little kid I watched films all day long with Bill. It was cool being a ball boy for all the games when I was just eight years old and up. I really learned the love of the game.” Jedd also had a shout out for the University of Washington men’s and women’s Tennis teams for hitting balls with him at 7:00 a.m. as it helps him mentally to be on the court.
He told his father of his dream and Jeffrey suggested he go to the best school possible to help him become a football coach. Jedd chose the University of Florida in Gainesville because he admired Coach Steve Spurrier and wanted to be in the best environment to learn how to coach. He volunteered on the Gators’ staff starting as a sophomore, roomed with future Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, and graduated from Florida in 1998. He immediately continued in coaching for the Gators while earning a Master’s Degree in Sports Management, reflecting his parents’ emphasis on education.
By 2002, at just 26, Jedd moved to the National Football League (NFL) as a defensive quality control coach with the

Houston Texans. Over the next few years he accumulated experience with several NFL franchises, including the Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Rams, and New England Patriots, while also holding college positions at Michigan and UCLA.
In 2017 he served as interim head coach for UCLA and guided the Bruins to a bowl game. In 2018, Jedd was on the Rams’ staff for Super Bowl LIII, a game notable for the Patriots’ Jewish wide receiver Julian Edelman earning MVP honors.
Jedd’s first major head-coaching role came in 2021 at Arizona in Tucson, where he led the Wildcats for three seasons; his
final season there saw Arizona nationally ranked and playing in a bowl. In 2024 he accepted the head coach position at the University of Washington in Seattle, stepping into the Big Ten’s elevated competition. In his first season with the Huskies, he led Washington to the Sun Bowl, and this season the Huskies are rolling again.
Jedd engineered a second-half comeback against Maryland - a bittersweet loss for me as a Terps alumnus, but one I quickly congratulated him on the field after the game.
Washington’s Director of Football Operations, Deborah Goldstein, is also Jewish and hails from southern California.
Deborah has been with UW football for 16 seasons and added, “This is my fifth head coach I have worked for at Washington, and it has been great,” In a post-game conference I could see why his players love him as Jedd expresses such enthusiasm. I asked Jedd whether he had encountered anti-Semitism in football; he answered, “no.” I left the game at College Park, Maryland very impressed by Jedd, Deborah and the entire Huskies’ program and wished them continued success.

As the Humane Society of Greater Miami celebrates 90 incredible years of compassion, care, and community, the organization is thrilled to announce an exciting new way for animal lovers to connect with their future furry family members—the Priority Adoption Program.
This innovative program allows adopters to join a Priority Match List for the breed or type of pet they’re hoping to adopt. For a one-time $250 enrollment fee, participants will receive early notification when a matching dog or cat becomes available—before the pet is listed for general adoption.
But this isn’t just about finding your perfect pet sooner—it’s about giving back. The enrollment fee directly supports the Humane Society’s lifesaving mission, helping provide food, shelter, and medical care for hundreds of homeless animals each year.
“Launching this program as part of our 90th Anniversary is especially meaningful,” said Jossie Aguirre, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Greater Miami. “For nine decades, we’ve been proud to serve our community and its animals. The Priority Adoption Program not only helps families find their ideal pets faster but also ensures that more dogs and
cats receive the second chance they deserve.”
The Priority Adoption Program reflects the Humane Society’s continued growth and commitment to expanding services that benefit both people and pets across Miami-Dade County. As the organization looks toward the next 90 years, initiatives like this highlight its dedication to innovation, compassion, and community partnership.

In today’s world, it’s rare for kids to hand over a few crumpled dollar bills for a purchase. Most transactions happen online or with a tap of a card, which can make money feel less tangible to the next generation. However, that shift doesn’t mean financial lessons have to get lost - it just means they should be taught differently.
From budgeting for a favorite purchase to learning about investing, the digital landscape provides ample opportunities to help kids build smart habits.
One way to start is with a kid-friendly debit card connected to an app. These accounts allow children to manage their own spending while parents monitor
activity. Being able to check balances in real time - and seeing the impact of a purchase immediately - helps kids understand budgeting in a hands-on way. When the balance gets low, the lesson is clear. Parents can also use digital purchases as teachable moments. A $10 virtual item in a game might sound appealing, but comparing it to something tangible, like a trip to the movies or a special snack, can help kids think about trade-offs and decide what’s worth the money.
Saving is another concept technology can make more tangible. Setting a goal such as a new bike, a sports jersey or a piece of tech becomes more engaging when children can track their progress visually. Some apps even offer interest on
savings, giving kids a first glimpse of how money can grow over time.
As children grow into teens, their curiosity about money often expands into investing. This can be an ideal time to open a custodial brokerage account and explore concepts like diversification, risk and long-term strategy. Purchasing fractional shares of companies they recognize can make the learning process relatable.
It’s also important to cover topics like credit, debt and security before kids start managing money on their own. Teens should understand how borrowing works, why paying bills on time matters and how to protect themselves from identity theft.
In some cases, freezing a minor’s credit until they are older can be a smart precaution.
Above all, money lessons should be an ongoing conversation. Asking kids what they’re hearing from friends, teachers or online sources can lead to meaningful discussions and create teachable moments.
The tools may have changed, but the goal remains the same: helping kids develop the skills and confidence to manage money wisely. By meeting them where they are in the digital world, parents can make financial lessons real, relevant and lasting.

Boca Stage is pleased to announce their next production will be at Willow Theatre in Sugar Sand Park, where they will present Damaged Furniture from Friday, March 6th, 2026 through Sunday, March 15th, 2026. Howard Skora’s outrageously funny comedy about a totally dysfunctional Brooklyn family received multiple awards and nominations when it debuted in Los Angeles in 2018.
When Doug Elling receives word that his beloved uncle has died in an unexpected - and bizarre - accident, he rushes from Los Angeles to Brooklyn and finds himself at the center of his family’s efforts to salvage their furniture business. An alcoholic father, his ‘happy-face’ mother, his recently widowed aunt, and his therapist sister all add to the chaos surrounding Doug as he tries to decide upon his future.
Director Keith Garsson explains that “…this show is a reset back to our original mission: the premier production of a relatively new work for the South Florida area.We had two great seasons of commercial fare at the Delray Beach Playhouse, however this piece enables us to go back to our roots with a very dark, off-beat comedy. Additionally, since Boca Stage was never
intended to be a seasonally based company, the Willow Theatre structure enables us to do shows on an a la carte basis without the responsibility of a full slate of productions.”
“What makes the play a big success is its blatant, over-the-top, outrageous comedy that will not quit.” Don Grigware, Grigware Reviews.
Garsson has completed casting for the production: Bruno Faria will play Doug, withValerie diLorenzo as Laurie, Sharon Pfeiffer as Gina, Liz DeBeer as Irene, and ShaneTanner as Phil.

“Jada Kiss” may have sounded like the life-of-the-party on 103.5 FM the Beat’s nighttime radio show, but the real-life JadaWilliams was scared. A single mother with two kids, she had crippling headaches every day for three months and was losing the ability to do the job she had done for the past four years.
“My brain was hurting, I was nauseous and I could barely see out of one eye,” said Williams, the Producer of DJ Bulletproof’s show/podcast. “I couldn’t keep up with the pace of live radio and was barely making it through my shifts.”
Given her history of migraine headaches, it would have been reasonable to assume Williams’ issues stemmed from that, but the 42-year-old, North Miami resident knew this was a different kind of pain. At her wit’s end, she went to the ER at Memorial Hospital Pembroke where a CT scan revealed a giant brain Aneurysm, the type that when it ruptures kills nearly
50% of its victims. Among the half that manage to survive the brain bleed, nearly 70% are left with cognitive deficits that affect memory, attention, reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making.
“Jada had one of the largest Aneurysms I’ve ever seen,” said Dr. Brijesh P. Mehta, Chief of Adult & Pediatric Neurointerventional Surgery and Medical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Program at Memorial Healthcare System. “We performed a minimally-invasive endovascular procedure in the cath lab to cut off blood supply to the Aneurysm using a flow diverting device and coils.”

Neurointerventionalists care for more than 200 brain aneurysm patients each year, making it one of the largest treatment centers in South Florida. One in every 50 people has the potentially deadly condition, with High Blood Pressure, smoking and family history being the

But she’s also being cautious to avoid setbacks, with the memories of 10 days of bed rest and six weeks without leaving her home too fresh to forget. What was once, according to Dr. Mehta, “a ticking time bomb,” is now a new lease on life for JadaWilliams. A Brain Aneurysm that could have easily ruptured never did and Williams believes that means she was meant to serve a bigger purpose. “I hope I can be an example to others,” she said. “Your lifestyle matters and you don’t have to be a superwoman.
