Another nice week of winter weather; a couple of unsettled days but overall clear and not too windy. We had a trip Friday that was a bit breezy in the morning, started inside Motiti around the Middle Ground, but had absolutely no joy there so carried onto the area outside where the S.E. was stiff enough for me to postpone the overnighter for Friday /Saturday. A few hours later it was looking a lot better. The wind had died off and we ended up with a nice day and quite good fishing. One of those situations where better to cancel than go out and end in an endurance test. Not much fun. Sunday we just went straight outside Motiti and had a continuation of cross currents and slower fishing once again. Again we did find fish eventually but it has been getting a bit harder. Time to try somewhere different, I think. Courtesy of Tauranga Marine Charters
