Tiffany Mussare, owner of Bella Vita Caregiving Services in Williamsport, said that her mission is to provide a peaceful and compassionate environment to individuals in need of home care support and guidance.

Bella Vita focuses on giving the elderly a life at home

After relocating from Washington D.C. back to South Williamsport to be with her high school sweetheart in 2014, Tiffany Mussare was looking for a change of career after the decline in the gas and oil industry.

After five years working for a local home caregiver business, Mussare decided to take a crack at the industry for herself, leading her to open Bella Vita Caregiving, 2830 Lycoming Creek Road, in 2021.

“My daughter, Stella, was just two years old when I started Bella Vita, and the name comes from her. One of her nicknames early on was Stella Bella,” she said.

A focus of the business is to help keep the elderly enjoying life in their own homes.

“We try to promote that independence as much as possible, because that is what is going to keep our clients young,” Mussare said.

“We can help with mobility, exercise programs, meal planning and prepping, doctors appointments and medication reminders,” she explained.

“If you have the right agency doing your care, planning and coordinating, your elderly loved ones can have a really successful end journey in their home,” Mussare said.

Musssare’s staff can also provide care to those in nursing facilities.

“We can go to these facilities if someone wants their loved ones to have a little bit of extra care,” she said.

“We’re enriching the lives of 40-plus people, because that goes beyond to their family members. We’re making a difference in so many people’s lives,” Mussare said.

River Valley Regional YMCA kicks off 2025 fundraising

The River Valley Regional YMCA (RVR YMCA) just kicked off their 2025 Case for Support, a fundraising campaign to support community programs. Since RVR YMCA is the largest social service non-profit organization in north central Pennsylvania, the campaign is crucial for its many services.

“We are here for everybody - families, seniors and childrenregardless of income. We offer programs to assist with membership prices, “ said Mandy Minnella, RVR YMCA’s marketing coordinator.

As a result of 2024’s fundraising, RVR YMCA was able to provide over $1 million dollars of services for members and the surrounding communities at their six locations in Jersey Shore, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Muncy, Towanda and Williamsport. Donations from this year’s 2025 Case for Support will do the same.

Many people think of RVR YMCA as just a gym but the non-profit offers so much more than that. For example, there is a free 12 week program supporting cancer survivors and their families. In addition, branches provide multiple programs including the summer food program, Silver Sneakers, LIVESTRONG, and discounts for veterans, military and first responders, to name just a few.

Throughout the spring and summer, engaging fundraising events will be held to benefit 2025 Case for Support. For instance, the River Valley Food Festival will celebrate regional cuisine on Saturday, April 12 at Bald Birds Brewing Co. in Jersey Shore. The Clark McClane Band will perform live music, while guests nosh on dishes from area restaurants. Proceeds from the event

will benefit the Jersey Shore and Lock Haven branches. For more information on upcoming events and to donate, visit rvrymca. org.

As for living spaces, there are multiple options designed to meet residents’ individual needs.
