Students Collect Food to Provide Thanksgiving Meals for Local Families Through the annual SCA Thanksgiving Food Drive, SCA elementary students united to donate over 5,000 food items to bless Kansas City families with a Thanksgiving meal. The items — including canned fruit, canned veggies, boxed foods, and paper goods — were enough to pack 300 boxes. One of SCA’s Core Values is to Cultivate Community, and the food drive helps students understand the importance of serving, generosity, and helping their local and global community. SCA joined forces with outreach endeavors at Courageous Life Church in Independence, Heart-N-Hand Ministries in Belton, and Victory in His Presents in Kansas City. SCA sixth grade students packed the food items into boxes, loaded them onto trucks, and sent them off to be shared with families in the Kansas City area.
